Chapter 68 - A Miss

I was left dumbfounded—too stunned to speak looking at the girl in front of me. Even if all of us was left shock in this situation, no one is probably more surprised than I am as I'm the only one with the knowledge of the game.

The girl in front of me were very different from the usual. Her supposed black hair with a bit of white caused by its lack of pigments had fully turned into vanilla white. Luna—whose hair had turned different was sitting on the bed and is looking awfully uneasy. (See paragraph comment)

"D-do you know something about it?" Lily who's behind me anxiously said. "N-nothing bad will happen to Luna, right?"

"Hm," I ponder for a moment, and put my hands in my chin before I spoke. "To be honest, I don't know."

How would I know actually? In the game, Luna's hair was already fully white when she was introduced—and it was never mentioned in anything, so I clearly have no idea what the cause of it.

I had thought of the 『Essence of Limiters』 was the reason of this phenomenon but there was again never anything mentioned something like this in the game.

"How do you feel Luna? Anything unusual?" I asked.

"Hm..." Luna starts to ponder, trying to feel something. "Nothing in particular..."

"I see..."

There doesn't seem to be anything concerning besides her hair that had turned white.

"How is it Sai? Did you think of something?" Seia who's on beside me asked, looking uneasy.

I gave a nod before I answer. "Nothing, let's just leave it at that."

"Ehh?!" The girls express their surprise and confusion with the exception of Akari whose still asleep.

"Hau..." Luna starts to get very nervous, displaying a forlorn expression.

"I-Is it really okay to leave it at that?!" Luna retorted; her eyebrows then start to narrow. "Sai, are you really taking this seriously? What if something happened to Luna?"

"Calm down everyone," I threw my palms in the air. "I'm taking this seriously. Right now, Luna having some kind of sickness is already close to impossible unless it's a curse of something."

I started to explain to them my reason. First, the 『Essence of Limiters』 is the only item Luna consumed last night. Moreover, Luna has over 800HP to be killed over some poison. It was probably some change pertaining that we had consumed the 『Essence of Limiters』 yesterday.

"Is that really the case?" Seia doubly said, seemingly skeptic.

I breath out a sigh of exasperation before I spoke. "If something really happened to Luna, I'll assure you all I'd do something about it."

"I see. That's reassuring." Lily wryly said.

"T-thank you, Master." Luna expressed her gratitude and finally looking relief.

"No problem." I said, then starts to look at Luna. "As expected, white hair really is the best for you, Luna. You look more natural than before. I like it."

"Eh?!" Luna's face instantly turned red, she then started to cover her face bashfully. "I-is that so...?

The girls shifted their attention to Luna after I spoke.

"Now that you've mentioned it, you're right." Lily said. "Perhaps Sai was right about earlier."

"Indeed, it would be better if it was." Seia replied to Lily and is also carefully checking Luna.

"I'm kinda jealous." I frankly said. "I wish something also changed in my appearance, like my eyes had turned feral or something."

""Y-yeah..."" Lily and Seia timidly replied.

"Ah!" And then I suddenly remembered. "I forgot to give back your equipments." I started to put the items one by one into the bed. "Here it is."

I put the equipments that I've upgraded in Mr. Mjell's workshop by merging a two compatible item into one—upgrading them in the process.

If you remembered, I've mentioned about merging two items into one while also considered as upgrading them. The items that I've managed to upgrade are:

『Mighty Gloves』 which is a tier II melee equipment that is made by combining the 『Offensive Gauntlet』 and the 『Impact Gloves』 together. It has an appearance of a standard white gloves. It looks ordinary until you equipped the item which gives the user a:

• 21% Melee damage and Speed and doubles the user's knockback.

I made two of these items in which I gave one to Luna and one on mine.

Next is called the 『Enchanted Quiver』 which is a tier II range equipment that is made by combining the 『Endless Quiver』 and the 『Uriel's Quiver』 together. It now has an appearance of a white quiver with a violet lid. When equipped, it gives the user a:

• significant decrease in aggro, increase arrow damage by 10 and doubles the arrow velocity, and acts as a single arrow that can be fired indefinitely without being depleted.

Yes, that's extremely overpowered. But remember, it's only a tier II. It still wasn't in its max.

And lastly, all of us had finally got our own 『Thunderboots』. As you already know, it is the tier III or the 3rd upgrade of the Mobility Boots. As for how it's made, I don't need to explain as its information is unnecessary.

Everyone took each of their own items. Seia didn't get anything since she's already had a good items equipped. I kind of feel bad about it but Seia insist that she doesn't mind. In fact, she was very happy that everyone got a strong equipment similar to her.

"Haha, you can't be serious," Lily cheerfully said, her face was beaming with smile. "Isn't this too overpowered?"

"Right? I also got a gauntlet from Master." Luna replied to Lily. "Now I can be much help to Master."

"I'm glad you're all enjoying it. Also, guys can you keep the 『Thunderboots』 until Akari finally wakes-up? Let's go prepare as we need to head into the Academy."

"You better be."

All of us were very surprised when Rina-san suddenly talked to us leaning her back on the door. But I wonder what does she mean by that?

"Rina-san, is there any problem?" I asked.

"So, you didn't know huh." Rina-san breathes out a small sight and continue the talk. "Actually, the Academy had already resumed for a while. Unfortunately, it didn't go as you had anticipated Sai."

"Eh?!" I widened my eyes to Rina-san's information. Sweat started to drop on my cheeks. "D-don't tell me..."

"Fufu~" Rina-san gave a petrifying smile. "I wonder how many absent does you five have?"

"Hey Sai! I thought you said that there would be no classes for a while?!" Lily furiously complained.

All of us were nervously sprinting towards the Academy. When we knew that the academy had started the classes for the last few days, the girls got so nervous they hastily prepare from the academy and quickly left the Villa.

As for me, I was forced to quickly prepare as I'm the reason why they have the mark of absent since the last few days. I don't really care about the Academy as it was unnecessary for me, but it looks like it was a big deal to the girls.

"Why are we running though?!" I complain while we run. "It's not like, were going to get marked absent if we don't hurry."

I even had to carry the Sleeping Akari since she didn't had time to prepare so I had to carry her while were running. It was pretty bothersome but worth it at the same time.

"Shut up!" Lily retorted, seriously pissed-off. "Because of you, our promise to have a perfect attendance..."

"I'm really sorry. I really didn't expect that it will end this way. Yeah? Luna, Seia?"

I tried to convince them, but it was to no avail. Seia and Luna were completely ignoring me. Yikes, I guess it's more of a big deal than I can think of.

It was thanks to the 『Thunderboots』 that we arrived on the Academy in only 15 Minutes of running. The place was quite a few kilometer so...

"Sigh~ We're finally here..." I tiredly said.

Though sadly, they still kept ignoring me. They might not say it but the looks on their face, they're obviously pissed-off!

I put down Akari who have finally aroused from her sleep.

"Nh...!" Akari did a big stretch—moaning. "Good morning, Master..." Akari's eyes started to swim around, looking perplexed. "W-where am I...?"

"Good morning, Akari..." I greeted her back, then added. "Go join the three Akari. You still haven't worn your uniform, you know?"

That's right. We just bailed Akari out while she's sleeping. The girls had Akari's clothes in their pouch, so I insist Akari to join them.

I followed the four behind heading to our classroom. I felt some pressure coming from them, so I distance myself a bit.

After a while, the quartet started to get surrounded by the crowd's attention. Everyone was dumbfounded to the quartet's sudden change of appearance and their very unusual behavior.

"You're kidding...! Luna just changed her hair into white...!"

"Holy shit! She looks hotter than ever...!"

"Hey, isn't that Akari? D-did she became more beautiful than before? I-I thought that..."

"Yeah, she looks like a walking skeleton before, right? And now..."

"The shy Seia is angry?! Ugh...! I feel like I'm awakening some kind of fetish..."

"Y-yeah... Same with Lily... No, don't they all look so pissed-off?!"

Various kinds of comments can be heard throughout the hall. Looks like they've gathered more attention just like I expected. As for me...

"Hey, that guy, Sai Crimsonheart was it? He's still hanging out with the girls?! Just how shameless can he be...?!"

"Yeah, right? He must be thinking that he's on the same level of the four goddesses. What a shameless bastard..."

"I heard he never won a fight in the past right? An Underdog."

"Haha really? What a loser, this guy."

W-wow... Everyone completely hates me... I'm really curious what did Sai just do to create this much hatred from everyone...

I don't really mind their hate for me though. Personally, their mockery is so cliche that I only felt cringe instead of being depressed. Talk all they want, All—

"Shut the fuck up!"

The hallway went suddenly quiet. Even me was froze in response when I heard those unusual words coming from the mouth of the girl I knew. D-did she just swear?!

"Loser this, loser that, you guys aren't any better." The half-elf furiously said in front of everyone. "You're all not any different from a loser. And don't even compare yourself on that Man if you didn't even know his side."

Lots of emotions can be felt from those sentences. It was very surprising, especially for me, who was with them for a while. I can only look at the four who was extremely pissed-off compared to earlier and stood behind them silently.

The four were currently displaying a face that they wanted to kill someone... I probably shouldn't anger them.

The four then silently went inside our classroom as the silence encircles the surroundings. After a brief moment, I followed after and enter the classroom without saying a word.

I went to my seat and took my bag out of my pouch, then greeted the Man behind me.

"Yo! Sora," I greeted him, and gave him a fist bump. "Been a while."

Sora who is my only male friend gave me a careful look before he spoke. "Looks like you're into some trouble again. Care to tell a friend what happened?"

"Ohoho~" I gave Sora a smirk. "I have tons I can tell you. Let's talk about it later."

"I'll expect it later then." Sora cheerfully responded, then added. "Ah, Sai I forgot to tell you."

"Yes?"

"Apparently, the academy tournament will continue in a week. I'll tell you just in case." Sora explained.

Looks like we made it just in time huh. It's finally time for the council of this academy to show themselves. The pride of this academy and the whole capital huh. I can't wait...!
