Having witnessed Anna teleporting an entire yard full of demon warriors, Leoni asked Wuya why they couldn't use such a convenient spell to directly go to the company's headquarters.
"You're that eager to see your Viola?"
Like Viola, Wuya handed Leoni a bag stuffed with clothes and books, then lifted him in a princess carry to use the energy-consuming flight magic on his behalf.
Though Wuya's comment was a light tease, her downward gaze made Leoni mistakenly think she was upset.
Reading the room is a vital skill in a matriarchal world; accurately interpreting the subtle moods of the ladies and keeping every sister he interacts with happy is key to sustainable relationships.
"No, I was just curious because Wuya is so powerful..."
"Don't flatter me. I understand the principle of 'first come, first served,' so I won't get mad at you for this," Wuya whispered close to Leoni's ear, even though there was no one else around. She continued with a romantic tone, "But I will prove through my actions that I can make little Leoni happier..."
Wuya kissed Leoni's cheek as she lifted her head, which led him to foresee a dilemma in his future.
It seemed Wuya intended to compete with Viola. If they met at the company's headquarters...
Wouldn't he be the biggest victim?
Teleportation magic requires a pre-set magical marker at the destination, so it's not possible to go anywhere at will.
To avoid excessive use of magic power, Wuya planned to find a place to stay overnight in a nearby town and let Leoni absorb her high-purity magic power for the day.
"Wuya, I absorb your magic power every day, won't it be too much for you?"
They agreed that all expenses outside would be covered by Leoni. With the substantial savings from Viola, he felt it was his chance to impress Wuya and prove his worth.
Wuya, undeterred by Leoni's gaze, began to undress, changing into a loose, cream-colored robe. She mentioned she couldn't sleep comfortably without wearing it.
Leoni couldn't help but wonder if this emotionally stoic sister, who seemed to have meticulous thoughts in everything she did, was deliberately trying to entice him.
"It won't be a problem. You're probably around level 10, and there's a big level gap between us, so the magic power you absorb from me won't cause significant depletion."
As Wuya took off her shoes, her perfect feet, resembling carved white jade, captivated Leoni's attention. She was aware of his interest in her feet, but she chose not to address it directly, waiting for a more appropriate moment for Leoni to reveal his desires.
Deliberately measuring the distance, Wuya sat on the bed in a way that her feet were right next to Leoni's hand.
"Leoni, would you like to absorb my magic power?"
"Thank you, Wuya."
As Leoni climbed onto the bed, he pretended to casually brush his hand over Wuya's feet. They were as smooth and delicate as he had imagined. The thought of indulging in them crossed his mind...
He eagerly nestled into Wuya's embrace, looking forward to falling asleep in the arms of a big sister, a comfort he hadn't experienced since Viola left.
This thought made Leoni's heart skip a beat. Spending Viola's money while doing things that would upset her, he decided it'd be best to accept punishment willingly when he saw her again, to ease his own conscience.
Just as Leoni prepared to fall asleep in Wuya's arms after absorbing her magic power, she suddenly grabbed his arm and rolled him onto the bed with her.
Leoni thought Wuya's long-contained desires were finally surfacing, but she placed a finger to her lips in a 'shushing' gesture.
"There's a 'tail' that followed us. Act like we don't know."
Their room was adjacent to the street outside, and Leoni had also heard some noises. He had assumed they were just people passing by late at night and hadn't paid much attention.
Wuya quickly extinguished the room's magical light, pretending to embrace Leoni as if preparing to sleep. The town they were in was a transit point near the Demon Queen's City, where many demons would rest for the night if they couldn't reach the city in a day.
Ever since they entered the town, Wuya had noticed a group following them. Not recalling whom she might have offended during her long seclusion, she initially didn't pay much attention.
However, she still felt the familiar aura of magic outside their room, with two individuals seemingly ready to act at any moment.
"Leoni, have you angered anyone?"
"I've been staying in the Succubus Academy; I haven't had the chance to offend anyone..."
"Then we might need to keep one alive for questioning."
The sound of boots on wooden planks outside their door indicated a coordinated attack. Despite the minor noise, these assailants seemed professional.
This was Leoni's first real combat experience, and he couldn't help feeling nervous. Wuya, on the other hand, remained as calm as ever, instilling a sense of security in him.
"There are five of them, including a strong mage. Don't leave my side."
"I wouldn't leave even if you asked me to."
This was Leoni's first encounter with a top-tier mage in combat. He realized that his gaming experiences, where mages were often vulnerable to assassins, might have been more a matter of player skill than character limitations. Watching Wuya's prowess made him reevaluate the mage class.
Wuya had set up an explosive barrier at the door. As it was breached, she wrapped her arms around Leoni, surrounding them with a fiery cloak, and leaped out the window.
"Hold on to me!"
Leoni clung to Wuya's neck as she hurled fireballs at the demon warriors on the left and raised a magical shield to block attacks from the distant mage.
The quiet night was abruptly set ablaze by the unexpected conflict. Despite facing five opponents while protecting Leoni, Wuya didn't falter.
Leoni marveled at the prowess of a top-tier sister in this matriarchal world – truly impressive!
