THE GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDMA'S WILL
"What is the amount of my father's magic on Prince Stamatis' body?" I asked the forensic conjurers.
"There is not much of his magic left in the prince' body now but during the time the body was discovered, there should be the equivalent of Earth tier magic in the body", the forensic conjurer told us.
"Your majesty, the case is solved although the murderer is not found", I told the king.
"How is the case solved?" the king asked me.
"Prince Stamatis, is he a strong Templar Knight? He must be since he is the patriarch of the Appolokis family", I asked them.
"Yes, Stamatis, he is a tough guy", King Laventios replied to me.
"Is it even remotely possible that an Earth tier magic can even harm Prince Stamatis?" I asked.
The crowd murmured among themselves at the reasoning.
"That is not possible. Prince Stamatis is a strong knight. He can't be killed by an Earth tier magic", Duke Kiriakos told us.
"If I must speculate, Prince Stamatis was killed by powerful people outside the Mithridocus residence. After he was killed, the magic on him was removed from his body before his dead body was brought to the Mithridocus residence. When my father Orol who was half drunk at the time returned to his room, he found the dead body of Prince Stamatis and attacked him by accident. So, some of his magic was on the prince although by that time, the prince was already dead", I explained to them.
"That is preposterous. Who will do that to Prince Stamatis and go through all the hassle to bring his body to the Mithridocus family?" Minister Kimon asked.
"Exactly, it will be someone who wants to frame the Mithridocus family for the murder of Prince Stamatis. My father Orol was unfortunate enough to have discovered the prince's body and was for that reason accused by you", I told Minister Kimon.
"There is no one in this world who can remove magic from a dead body. All these speculations are nonsense", Minister Kimon told us.
"Nonsense or not, it is the truth that matters. Prince Stamatis was killed by someone is true. His magic was cleansed from his body which is also true. If my father was the one who killed the prince, his remnant magic would be removed from the prince's body. His magic remains on the dead prince's body only because the magic was put on him after he was killed and his magic removed from his body", I told them.
"That is a more convincing argument than an Earth tiered magic can kill Prince Stamatis, a Legendary Templar Knight", the crowd murmured among themselves.
"I will have to agree with the Earl on this but there are so many unexplained questions", Duke Kiriakos told the king.
"Who will want to frame our Mithridocus family? Your majesty, you must give our family justice," Prince Geoffraie asked the king when the prince's eyes glanced toward Prince Samlee.
"Our Appolokis family will also require justice for our prince", Duke Kiriakos also asked from the king.
"Release Duke Orol of Kaleon. He is not the murderer of Prince Stamatis", King Laventios told his guards before they released Orol.
"What about Prince Stamatis' murderer?" Minister Kimon asked.
"We will hold a Royal Inquiry into the murder of Prince Stamatis. The murderer must not go free", King Laventios told his court.
"You didn't tell them about the lost blood in the prince's body?" Ratatouille asked me in my mind.
"That is not necessary. They will find out about it later through detailed autopsy. I don't want them to know I can detect the loss of the prince's blood from a casual glance of the dead body. Only the real killer will have that knowledge", I replied to him.
"The autopsy should have found out all about this earlier if they have the dead body for three days. Why accuse the duke without good proof?", Ratatouille told me and asked.
"Because they presumed Orol's guilt right from the beginning and didn't do a thorough job with the forensics", I replied to him.
"There is something really wrong about this Kimon. He is either incompetent or he has a secret agenda", Ratatouille told me.
"And that Prince Samlee too. He is a part of it", I said to him.
"Shouldn't you expose them now to the king?" he asked me.
"That is not necessary, the king already knows they are involved, and they will have a hard time explaining their involvement in the murder", I replied to him as I saw the king stare at both his son and his minister suspiciously.
------
"Son let's go back to the family homes and talk about this later. I am in utter shock. It is such a relief that the king released me", Orol said to me.
"The family homes?" I asked him.
"The Mithridocus family residence of course", he replied to me.
"Didn't the Mithridocus family abduct you from Tarah city?" I asked Orol.
"No, never. The steward from the family came to invite me to the family's annual Memorial. I was so excited about it that I forgot to tell Hagar about it. It's my fault", Orol told me.
"Damn, you must let us know if you go missing like this in the future or at least leave us a note", I told him.
"I will be careful next time, son", he replied to me.
"Just go back to Tarah city or our hotel in the city. I don't feel comfortable going to the Mithridocus family", I told him.
"You cannot think like this. Mithridocus is our family and soon we will become even closer", Orol told me.
"Closer? Why?" I asked him.
"Your great great great grandmother arranged a marriage for you with the daughter of Geoffraie before her passing. Soon, you will become the master of the Mithridocus family", Orol told me to my shock and surprise.
"What the hell, why did she do that for?" I asked Orol.
