Khas'tan sneered as he saw Manstanka trying to retain the Judgment rights. Judgment was a broad divine authority. Not only the gods of death, but also the Sun God, War God, Moon God, and even the Prince of Shadows held it. However, their Judgment only applied to their own followers. The Death God's Judgment, on the other hand, was different—it could judge the souls of all people.
In the world of Godfall, everything would eventually die. Even the World Tree, which bore the multiverse, would wither and be reborn. This meant that the Death God with the Judgment power could pass judgment on the souls of followers from all gods. Such a power was naturally not tolerated by the other gods. That's why Khas'tan was determined not to let go of this authority.
