Chapter 16: Wedding 1

Xin Yan was dragged out of the bed by Nanny Zhong.

"Nanny Zhong, I want to sleep for a while, do let me sleep," she was pushed into the bathroom as she rubbed her groggy eyes.

She was too tired from reading documents the previous night and she didn't have a good sleep.

"Silly girl, do you know what today is? It's your wedding and you want to lay in bed, I really don't know what to do with you," Nanny Zhong shook her head as she helped her with the water temperature.

Xin Yan froze in her spot. She had totally forgotten about her wedding, well you could not blame her.

"What says the time now?" She took a deep breath before asking.

"It's half past five," Nanny Zhong replied without turning to look at her.

"What?" She shrieked.

"Who wakes up that early just for a wedding?" Xin Yan was speechless.

"I can't be bothered with you, yiu would need to have your makeup done and every other thing, I'm afraid by the time you are done, it would take a long time," Nanny Zhong scolded and explained to her at the same time.

Xin Yan looked at the nanny who had taken care of her for a long time and she didn't know what to feel.

"You can have your bath now," Nanny Zhong informed her and left the bathroom to her.

Xin Yan had a sweet bath. She could faintly smell roses in the bathtub. As expected, there were rose petals in the tub. She sighed.

Never would she have expected she would be getting married. Everything still felt like a dream to her, from dying to being reborn and now, a wedding. She could only face the future with uncertainty and go with the flow.

She spent about forty-five minutes in the bathroom and when she came out, she was stunned to see many unfamiliar faces in her room.

She squinted as she took a step back, putting the people in an awkward position.

"Who are you all?" She questioned as her eyes turned cold.

"Yanyan, they are the ones to dress you up for the wedding," Xin Yan retracted her cold gaze calmly. That was when she noticed their equipments.

"Yes, Aunty Zhong is right, we really aren't bad people," the one who seemed to be the leader clarified.

"I'm sorry, I'm not just used to having people in my space, shall we?" Xin Yan gestured and they all walked to her vanity table.

After what seemed to be like hours with Xin Yan falling asleep in between, they were finally done with her.

Xin Yan stood up from the chair and she let out a gasp. Nanny Zhong and Chen Wenling who had also made their way in let out gasps of admiration. Even the stylists couldn't help but feel proud about their work.

Xin Yan was a vision of loveliness, her wedding gown a masterpiece of elegance. The fitted, mermaid-style dress hugs her curves, showcasing her slender physique. The pure white silk or satin fabric glistens in the light, adorned with intricate lace, delicate embroidery, or subtle beading that adds a touch of sophistication.

Her face was a work of art, highlighting the most delicate aspect of her figure. High cheekbones, a petite nose, and full lips that curved into a gentle smile.

Her skin was radiant, porcelain-like complexion with a subtle glow, as if lit from within. Her eyes were black, deep black, but they shone and were bright and sparkling with happiness, fringed with luscious lashes that add to their allure.

A delicate veil or tiara adds a touch of whimsy and glamour, completing the picture of a bride who is truly a sight to behold.

She was truly an embodiment of beauty and even the ladies could not take their eyes off her.

"Is this really me?" Xin Yan looked into the mirror still in disbelief.

She was pretty, no doubt and she had that innate pride in her beauty. But staring into her reflection, she was still shocked.

"President is still very beautiful, the makeup only highlighted how good-looking you are, it's really President Li's fortune to be able to have a wife such as you, your children would inherit your good genes," Chen Wenling praised.

Xin Yan was in a good mood as she listened to Chen Wenling's flattery. But as it got to the end, she had an awkward look on her face.

"What kids? Who said I wanted to have kids with that dog of a man?" Xin Yan pouted her lips in annoyance but she didn't lash out at her assistant. She knew she only had her best interest in mind.

"We have to be at the church soon," Chen Wenling informed.

"Lingling, you look beautiful," Xin Yan complimented her assistant who had a bashful look on her face.

It wasn't an exaggeration. Chen Wenling was looking cute. She was wearing a pink dress and she had her hair tied up in a messy bun which highlighted her delicate features.

She might not be the type to charm a guy immediately but she had facial features which would be remembered at all times.

"Thank you President," she thanked Xin Yan with an humble look.

"Let's go," Nanny Zhong urged them as they walked to the car.

"You?" Xin Yan looked at the familiar face with shock in her eyes.

"Hey, did you miss me?" The person asked in a flirty tone.

"What are you doing here?" Xin Yan asked as she fixed her gaze on Chen Wenling sharply.

An awkward chuckle escaped her mouth. What was she to say? The elders in her family had asked her to extend an invitation to the person.

"Little sister, you can't welcome me that way, don't you miss your elder brother?" Xin Yi asked with a terrible expression on his face.

It turns out Xin Yan had a senior brother.

"Are you tired of riding race cars?" She asked with an exasperated look. She wasn't expecting her brother to show up.

Even in her last life, her brother didn't show up when her grandparents had died. Could it be that the trajectory of this present life could be altered if she went against what had happened previously.

Her brother was a professional car racer. He had won several awards and championships. He was barely in the country. She would never have expected him to take out time from her busy schedule to attend her wedding.

"Little Yan, I'm not tired of racing cars, but I can't miss my little sister's wedding and that too, she's getting married to that shameless man," Xin Yi continued with his babbling.

"You also think he's shameless right?" Xin Yan was happy to find someone who also thought the same way she did.

"What did he do that caused you to feel he is shameless?" Xin Yi squinted his eye dangerously as he thought of one thousand and one ways to deal with Li Qiang if he had messed with his sister in anyway.
