The officer ordered the royal guard to stay behind while he immediately left to song house. He asked for a group of royal guards, group of people from investigating department and a physician to accompany him.
Zhou Xuan was enjoying her tea and massage when she learned of the officer that had arrived to investigate. She was suprised and shocked as both duke ying and song hui were the type who took great care of image. She was confident that they would hide the matter for the fear of crowd.
Though she had prepared herself to be scolded and even punished a little as she knew they wounldn't cross the boundary. But out of her expectation an officer had arrived so quickly.
She immediately had her maid servant go to collect information but she quickly returned telling that there were guards and was stopped from leaving.
Zhou Xuan was now nervous so asked her servant if she had done everything clean. Learning her maid was confident she too calmed down and just waited for the officer to get tired after finding nothing and take his leave.
But unlucky Zhou Xuan was bound to get caught as the person who was sent was very intelligent. And with Yusheng's person still inside the manor eveudences were sure to be found.
While the officer had all the servants lined up with royal guards guarding them he also had send some guards to other courtyards to stop anyone from intervening the investigation.
According to Bai lan's testimony he sent group of people to check her room and kitchen to look for the tea cup and pot which had her drugged.
All the servants were trembling for the fear of being sacrificed for nothing as it was a common occurrence in big household. The most fearful was the man in charge of tea. Though he had made sure to wash the cups and teapot still felt something was not right.
Soon a group from bai lans room came and informed that there was no cup or teapot inside the room. Hearing that the officer called for the maid of bai lan "who had served the young madam come forward."
A maid comes trembling when asked and threatened she replies that she had been serving the madam from long time and knew of her pregnancy. Also told that today indeed her madam had just drank tea and nothing else due to dizziness which occurs normally in pregnant ladies.
After the tea her madam started to fell pain and bleed. She also pointed out to the other maid who was responsible for bringing food and drinks to madam from kitchen.
After being pointed out the other maid also parroted that she just brought the tea and indeed no breakfast was served. Soon the kitchen staff and cook was questioned. They too said that they indeed had not send any food or beverages and the tea was not send by them but is prepared by separate department which only prepares tea to the all the owners.
Just as the man responsible came forward another group of people came and they had the tea pot and the cup brought with them. The mans heart jumped from fear but soon calmed thinking it had been washed.
Thus when asked he accepted that he had indeed prepared a herbal tea which he had been preparing under young madams order from past 3 months.
He also accepted that it was before the chaos he had received the set back and hence as normal washed and kept it in place.
So far there was nothing suspicious until the tea cup and the tea pot reached the physicians hand. Who upon inspecting informed that the teapot and tea had traces of poison. To prove his debate, he gently swiped the cup and on his finger there was faint yellow colour.
He then starts to explain "the drug used was highly potent, thus even after washing it has managed to stick as a layer. This colour you see is the remnant of that drug.
To wash this poison either it has to be washed with very hot water or by another herbal solution in cold water. If not then the poison will continue to remain up to 3 days and after that time will air out by itself.
The most important thing is within these 3 days thought not potent as the first but will still effect the one who drinks from it. Indeed a very unique and viscious poison. And this indeed is the drug used on the young madam."
After explained of the matter the officer flares at the man before him who had just accepted to have made the tea by himself today and for the past three months.
