Chapter 5: Mother day's special

This is a special chapter for mothers day it doesn't affect the storyline. Well, enjoy and happy mother's day everyone. To all the mothers thank you and I wish you guys a lovely time. (<^w^>). Let me clarify I live in the UK so the publishing time would follow UK time and the events as well.
This chapter is set in Hui Qing's childhood:
" Gege it's going to be mother's day next week. What are we going to get mama?" 7-year-old Hui Yun asked. " I'm not sure actually, so let us ask google," 12-year-old Huai Zhan replied. we search through google and many ideas were to create something special for your mum, a quote was like it not how much money it cost it's the thoughtfulness. " Let's make egg tarts," 10-year-old Hui Qing "Mum like egg tarts the most,". " Can we make a card as well?" Hui Yun asked " Sure, so Qing Qing and I would make the egg tarts whilst you do the card. Sound ok?" ge commanded as we both nodded. We had devised a plan that we would create the egg tarts on the exact afternoon of mother's day when dad takes mum out for a date and distract her whilst we pretend we don't know it's mother's day.
On that day:
" Good morning Zhan er*(1), Qing er*(2) and Yun er*(3)," mom smiled as she greet us " Do you guys know what special day it is?" she asked as we shook our head her whole face fell and she looked so crestfallen, that I almost blurted out the secret but father saved me in time " Today's another day for us to go on a date, it's been a while since we've gone for a date. Where should we go?" he asked. Mom's face brightened up immediately she must want to go on a date. " How about going to the cinemas and then to Xuan Yuan restaurant*(4) I miss their food," mother replied babbling on. The rest of breakfast was spent with us listening to mum and dad planning their date night. They would be leaving at 12 and coming back at 6, having lunch first then to the cinema and then shopping. That leaves us 6 hours long enough, we might as well prepare a whole dinner :). " what about the kids?" mother asked " they will be fine I ask Butler Zhou to look after them, they'll be safe here. It will be fine if anything happens to them then Butler Zhou would call us, hmm," father replied. Butler Zhou was already in on the plan though I'm not sure dad would feel relieved in leaving the kitchen to young teens to havoc around which was why father told Butler Zhou to watch over us.
* An hour later:
" Ok Bye guys," mum said as dad waved, we watch them drive off before we scrambled to get the computer and the baking accessorized. We had found the recipe yesterday and watched a video on how to make egg tarts so we had got on starting it, Hui Yun was going to make the card and then come and join us.

We followed the video and it was finally made after 1 hour they were finally made we had double all the ingredients so we made 30 egg tarts instead of 15. Mei-mei had come to join helping us when she finished the card and it looked spectacular, she was creative. We watched the egg rise up and after 25 minutes we took the tarts out to cool they smelt marvellous and the taste was also yummy we had taken one to taste. We made enough for the maids in the mansion and for our grandparents who lived with my gu and my cousins in another part of Shang Hai*(5). We had cleared everything whilst we waited for the food to cool down.
When mum came home we had surprised her with the egg tarts and she was so happy crying out "I thought you guys had forgotten what a special day it was,". After dinner, we had the egg tarts for dessert and they were so yummy that mom wanted us to make them every mother's day. That was how it became something we would do for mom every mother's day. But we had learned to do other desserts such as tiramisu, cheesecake and more
