Chapter 42: I'm willing to wait:

Qi Yan looked at me and asked, "what's wrong,". I looked at him and replied gloomily "nothing, it's just I think I'm going to be very busy with my relatives bombarding me with a question about when our marriage is," I signed. Qi Yan looked at me and chuckled "Well I have a good solution. Do you want to hear it?". I looked at him in surprise and questioned him what it is. He leaned over and whispered in my ear saying, "Well we're both of legal age we can always register our marriage first before we've got the ceremony,". I glared at him and made him focus his eyes on the road instead. I had decided to get married after my graduation and I wanted to take this time to deal with all of the matters with Hui Qing before I get married. "Wait for another two years until I graduate," I whispered Qi Yan looked at me and replied, "I'm willing to wait to take your time...". I looked at him and wondered what he was thinking to have said such a sentence.

Qi Yan's POV:

We've kissed twice today... Twice... It was twice. What sort of lip gloss does she use? Sometimes she tastes like strawberry and sometimes she tastes like Vanilla. Today it's peachy though. Anyways I find it quite cute how her mother posted that video on her family group chat. I had a sneaky peak looked at it when she was closing her eyes. I didn't mean to, but I wanted to know what her family was thinking. I mean It's not as if I haven't met her family yet. I just want to know what her distant cousin thinks of me. A smile shone on my face as I scanned through the text messages. It was all positive feedback. They were even people telling her to just hold the wedding already. I nearly laughed aloud at that, but I still manage to keep it quiet, or Hui Qing will know I'm looking at her messages.

However, when Hui Qing opened her eyes, I noticed on her phone that a message had popped up on her phone from Mrs Luo. She was asking Hui Qing to attend her son's funeral. I'm not sure if she saw the message or not however, I noticed that she looked a bit sad when glancing at her phone again. So, she must've seen it. Is she still hung up on Luo Wen Ning? If not, why would she still have Mrs Luo's number? I heard from Qi Mei that Hui Qing cried when she found out Luo Wen Ning had died. She must've known early on. Perhaps she was one of the first people to know. She must still be anxious about him. Qi Yan, can you hear yourself? You're jealous of someone whose already dead. How pathetic are you? Perhaps I was feeling self-conscious which is why I said, "I'm willing to wait". I don't mind waiting. If God allows it, then I'll wait for you until the day I die...

"Qi Yan how long until we arrive?" Hui Qing asked. "1 hour and 30 mins left," I replied. She looked at me and said, "You've driven for a whole hour do you want to rest at a service?". I'm not tired, maybe she is? That's probably why she asked to stop. Does she need to use the toilet or walk around? It can be quite boring sitting in the car. "Ok," I agreed. I began paying attention to the signs on the motorway. "The next service would be in 30 minutes," I announced to Hui Qing. "How about I drive after?" she attentively asked. I looked at her in surprise, it never crosses my mind that she can drive because she's always been driven to school by her chauffeur. I nodded at her suggestion, and I never knew I would regret it.
