Touching the topic of Acacia's real family was tricky.
There was so much that needed to be discussed. However, Serena was aware that it was a subject she needed to sit down and talk to Acacia about.
"I'm so proud of you," Pietro wrapped his hand around Serena's waist. "It must not have been easy to stand up for Acacia like that. I'm glad you did," he praised her.
Serena leaned back. Sinking her body into his chest and trying to suck in the warmth emitting from him. It was the only comforting thing in her life.
"I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be for, Acacia. Leah and dad abandoned her, left her all alone in the world, " Serena said. Her heart was heavy with guilt over the mistakes of her father.
It had been days since she saw her father. Marcel genuinely appeared to have changed, his eyes had sadness and a bit of loneliness in them. Giving her the feeling that he might have learned his lesson.
