"Do you want me to buckle up your seatbelt, Iris?" Xavier's voice broke the silence.
Iris was taken aback, quickly reaching to fasten her seatbelt without a word.
Xavier started the car's engine, and a heavy silence enveloped them. She felt an awkward tension, and the small space of the car only made things worse. In an attempt to avoid any awkward conversation, she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.
As the car came to a stop, Iris opened her eyes in surprise to find that they had arrived at Xavier's residence, Darkwood Villa, instead of their campuses.
Iris looked at him, confusion flashing through her eyes. "Why do we come to your house?"
"I left something behind. Besides, we still have plenty of time before class..." Xavier nonchalantly said then exited the car, not waiting for her response.
Iris sat there, rendered speechless by the sudden turn of events.
