All afternoon, Iris had spent her time watching movies with Justin in the living room. In contrast, Xavier sat in the corner, engrossed in a book, seemingly oblivious to their activities.
As twilight appears on the horizon, signaling the approaching end of the day, Iris finally excused herself. Coincidentally, Xavier also finishes reading his book, and his gaze shifts towards Iris. He dismissed Justin from his sight as he trailed after Iris as she made her way to the entrance.
"Let me drive you," Xavier offered, his voice conveying concern. However, Iris promptly declined the offer, her mind set on driving her new car. She had another place to visit before heading home.
"Are you certain about this? It's nearly nightfall, Iris. Do you remember the way back home?" Xavier's worry crept into his words. He felt like he didn't know himself anymore because he couldn't entirely suppress his unease when it came to Iris's well-being.
