Episode 109: DELTHA'S DILEMMA

[Hospital]

Anxious, Jerico keeps his head down while waiting for the doctors.

Finn being the first who received the news grew worried, and arrived with his girlfriend, and Gabby to check him.

FINN: Yo, you doing good?

Jerico nods his head hesitantly.

Finn gives a long sigh and sits beside him.

FINN: Hey, no need to be scared. You did the right thing. And look, he's in the hospital now.

JERICO: I...I just...

FINN: You did a very good thing. This is a very good thing, what's with the face then?

Jerico looks away.

He just don't feel comfortable seeing weak people. Nobody would, right? Just...seeing the man almost on the brink of dying felt too much for Jerico to handle. After all, he was already tensed before that and was hoping to have a good fresh day.

Finn felt pity.

Gabby was observing him as well. Not sure of what to say to comfort him since he...was still in shock.

She have seen crazy things, but perhaps seeing a person you thought was dying before you, would speak a different story.

Suddenly she remembers her grandma, a kind woman, who would spoil her with sweets and jewelries. She gives a deep breath, good thing she wasn't the one who saw that, it must have brought back traumas and sadness, and she may not react as fast.

Red beside her, (obviously invisible to others) puts his hand on her shoulder, knowing she's uneasy.

Tiwari noticed the doctor coming back, and calls her friends.

TIWARI: Ey, look! The doctor's coming.

The man smiles politely, then informs them that the man was okay. Though sadly, they couldn't contact anyone related to the man, nor do they found any I.D. attached to him.

:He seems to be alone. He doesn't have a phone with him as well.

That saddened the mood for them more.

They decided to look at the old man, but Gabby and Red felt very different the moment they saw his eyes.

The old man was looking at them, looking surprised as well as they both were.

His features though aged, and his crystal blue eyes, could only belong to Him.

Red sensed nothing from the man however, and it left him feeling uncertain if it truly was Deltha.

But Gabby's instincts were telling her otherwise, as she has been able to speak to him before up close, and as an artist, she was very observant of people's facial features. His eyes were one of a kind. Beautiful, and different from all eyes she have seen.

Given the many weird things that happened to her, having herself being reduced to a younger age, she would not feel surprised if entities can cause the reverse effect to others as well.

Red however, completely relies on the man's flare level.

Gabby walked forward, while the others were quite confused as to why she acted as if she knows him. Her eyes, deeply speaks something they weren't aware of.

RED: Gabby-

He tried to catch her, to stop her, but remembered that she's a grown lady already, and she shouldn't be treated like a damsel all the time.

He stopped his self.

And watched her.

Gabby looks at the man with pure sympathy in her eyes.

Jerico knew instantly, by the way she was acting, that the man he met may he involved in the supernatural circle she's on, while Tiwari and Finn are just both utterly confused.

Leaving Deltha, the one who once saved Red and the other reapers, feels cold.

Gabby knew what she must do, to relieve him from his curse. She smiles at the man, who knew that she was able to recognize him.

GABBY: Hi sir, do you mind if you stay with me for a while?

Jerico felt shocked, as well as the other two beside him.

Sure, he knew that he may be some supernatural dude as well, but to keep him at her house? Is she okay? Is he that important?

Either ways, this man is still a man. And Jerico watched too many movies of weak looking men still turning to be a villain in the story. Wait...whay if the man was just pretending to be weak and old? And if a supernatural, could turn himself into a young man! And do things to her!

She's a woman. A beautiful woman with many assets. Alone with the man, many could happen!

Jerico's mind swirled many scenarios, and each passing second, the more angry his expression gets, he really was such an overthinker, and it costs him a lot of head aches and pain.

Red wasn't sure what's in the blue haired boy's mind at the moment, but he knows that since some secrets have been spilt with Jerico, he wasn't as clueless as the two were.

It might be a good thing though, as Jerico now understands more and might be of help in the future.

DELTHA: Really? What a kind girl. Thank you. I'll leave as soon as I could.

...

Murasaki heard of the news, and Gabby informing her that the old man in her apartment was more than a typical old man, he hurries to her room together with his father and Hoshi.

Hoshi seems to have more control, as he didn't feel as hungry as he was. Even able to play with Storm while Gabby and Murasaki converse on the background.

MURASAKI: This...man is a prince? Prince of what again?

GABBY: The prince of the Divine Realm. He needs to be turned back to his original form. He's a...a great friend.

MURASAKI: But you did mention that he tried to kill you too, right? And then he saved your asses once, so can't we just call it even?

GABBY: Don't be heartless, MJ.

MURASAKI: Ugh, fine. I'll talk to my dad.

Red and Humility on the other hand were still discussing if they should help.

HUMILITY: I can't send any more of my reapers, we're busy...getting rid of other nasty things suddenly popping everywhere. Plus, Deltha doesn't want to be known and confirmed alive by reapers, right? It would arouse suspicion and Madamme Alice may find out soon.

RED: I guess you're right. But...you can help, right?

HUMILITY: Of course, I'd try. I owe him my life after all. Have you talked to him about how he aged suddenly?

RED: No, actually.

HUMILITY: Alright, I will go ahead and ask him.

...

Deltha looks at Humility, smiled and shaked hands with him as a form of respect.

Humility felt pity the moment he saw Deltha's state. The once so handsome and strong prince, now degraded into an old frail man on Death's doorstep. They need to hurry up and find whoever did this to the Prince of Light.

GABBY: Can we listen to you?

Humility looks back at them and softly nodded his head. He looks back at Deltha, and proceeded.

HUMILITY: Do you recall who did this to you?

DELTHA: Oh yes...I remember his scent. Smells close to burning wood and...leaves... Then there's this feeling of danger when I was near him. He looks pale, his hair black. Then his eye, was red as blood. He...he smiled at me, as if he knew who I was. And absorbed what was once mine. He was a devil.

ZEFARIH: A Devil? I doubt that. A Devil would still distance itself from you. A Devil could still...feel fear. You are a strong being, right? Being able to stand alongside Alice-

HOSHI: Address her as Madame or else they'll extinguish us.

ZEFARIH: *sighs* Madamme Alice once...so, given her power levels, it must take at least one S level Demon to have a chance to intimidate you. But no S class demon would roam the mortal realm like that, they usually have someone to do the 'job' for them. They only come out when there are many, too many lost souls to harvest. As a demon I can confirm you that it may be something else. And a demon, should stink of blood as well, does he smell like blood?

DELTHA: No. I do not recall that.

ZEFARIH: Then it may be something else.

DELTHA: But what else can be as dangerous as an S level demon?

HUMILITY: Not sure. But it could be some old entity, that have lived, perhaps as long, or much older than you.

DELTHA: How dangerous, but why of all time must it come to me?

Red was dead quiet however, and recalled the characteristics Deltha has just told.

RED: It's the same guy that approached Nhairon, I'm sure. The guy who...

He stops, not wanting Gabby to hear it yet, it might worry her more than she already is.

RED: The guy who...who tried to hurt him.

Humility knew what the pause was for, and he also was aware that Red's life was in even more grave danger, now that whoever was suddenly chasing his friend, was seemingly gathering more power.

DELTHA: But you'll help me get back to normal, right?

HUMILITY: That guy is dangerous, sir. He might even kill me in a split second, so I can't guarantee you victory. However, I'll try my best still, to first, locate him. And Red...

His dear friend looks at him as quickly as he was mentioned.

HUMILITY: I don't want you to do anything with this search. This is mine and Zefarih's-

HOSHI: And mine!

HUMILITY: ...alone...

Deltha felt a slight disappointment. Now, his life is in the hands of three individuals.

How strong he was before...and now, he's not even sure if he'd get his strength back as to what it once was.

DELTHA: Are you sure you're the only ones in this?

ZEFARIH: Oh no, I...have some buddies to help us with this. But...I'm telling you, not to complain, a Devil is gonna do what a Devil is gonna do. Expect things to be not as smooth and godly.

In frustration however, the desperate prince agreed as quickly as it was spoken.

DELTHA: Just do it! Whatever it costs or takes, to bring me back to normal! I do not want to live like this! This weak body, only suited for humans! This body...in which...

He remembers his lover, dying in his arms in this same old weakened state, upon remembering it, a single drop of tear falls from his eyes, then followed more.

The crowd surrounding him grew quiet. Even the demons was quiet and torn from the sight before them.

Deltha...now experienced what it feels like to be weak.

Gabby comes forward and wipes the old man's face with a handkerchief.

The man looks at him and was deeply touched.

GABBY: It's okay to feel lonely and angry at the same time. I understand. We understand. I'm sorry if I can't do anything regarding your situation, I wish I could.

DELTHA: Thank you.

Humility cleared his throat and looks at both Hoshi and Zefarih.

HUMILITY: So...you're meeting up with those friends of yours...where and when exactly?

ZEFARIH: We can actually start now...if you let my son stay with Gabby for the meantime.

HUMILITY: Gabby isn't my kid, ask her.

ZEFARIH: Ugh, why can't-

GABBY: Okay. Just...please help Deltha.

MURASAKI: And dad it doesn't always have to be about me, you know? Let Gabby breathe.

ZEFARIH: Oh, is that so?

RED: *sighs* I suppose, Gabby needs extra help in taking care of Deltha. But I also need extra help taking care of the three of you, and the room!

HUMILITY: If I call Harry, Gabby's fridge will be wiped clean in no time. Just pray that you survive without me.

RED: Fine.

Humility looks at Zefarih, who then grinned.

HUMILITY: What?

ZEFARIH: Still a bit bitter, huh? But you need to trust me.

HUMILITY: I am. If I didn't, I would have eradicated you to pieces right now. Demons are the only beings, I do not hesitate to kill, you know?

ZEFARIH: Hmm, too bad, you need the 'Demons' to help you.

HUMILITY: Yes, and I guess that fact could not be denied, so thank you, still. I appreciate your kindness.

Zefarih felt like puking. Kindness? That's a very odd word for a demon like him to hear upclose. But he needs to carry on, for the sake of the trust given to them.

Though one thing is clear, he's not doing this just out of kindness. No way he would do that without anything in return. Demons are naturally selfish after all. And as much as he wanted to change, he just couldn't. Demons are demons. Angels are angels. Pure act of kindness, will never be a part of him, as far as he knows.

HOSHI: Ey, old man, at least reply.

Zefarih breaks from his thoughts.

ZEFARIH: Oh, ah. Well, no problem.

(But I'm not doing this without a comeback.)
