Episode 108: ARE YOU ALRIGHT?

Humility looks at his friend with the saddest eyes. Red on the other hand, felt very nervous, as he doesn't know what the matter could be.

Humility clears his throat, then spoke nonchalantly.

HUMILITY: Someone strong is coming for you.

RED: What? What did I do wrong??? I'm sure I haven't done anyone wrong! What the heck?!

He lost his temper immediately, confused as to why he keeps being the target.

HUMILITY: I don't know where to start but to make it short he...he wanted to have your red eye.

RED: What???! I was born with this, so this is mine! That's totally out of the...wait, who...who is he or she anyways?

HUMILITY: Nhairon encountered him, he was looking for someone with the same eyes as his. Nhairon described the eyes as identical to yours.

RED: No...no...he may have the wrong being.

HUMILITY: He knows you're a reaper. He's definitely looking for you.

RED: Damn, my life sucks. I'm dead and still, bad guys are after me. Just what did I did wrong to deserve this?? All I did was exist.

Red sits down and grabs the book again, continuing to read.

Humility's eyes widened in great disbelief.

HUMILITY: Your life is in danger, in grave danger...and...you're continuing to read that book???

RED: What? The next chapter is exciting, besides if I have you on my side, I'm sure I'll be fine.

HUMILITY: ...

HUMILITY: Even Nhairon is wary of the man. Even he got tensed meeting the man!

RED: Oh, sh*t.

HUMILITY: *sigh* So I'm sure you know what has to be done.

RED: What?

HUMILITY: You need to leave her, and return to our realm until we defeat him. I don't want to lose you too.

RED: You want me to leave her?! What about her, then???

HUMILITY: I'll assign a different guardian for her. She'll be fine.

RED: No! I told her I won't leave her alone! I told her that I'll be the one to protect her!

HUMILITY: Stop whining and being stubborn, for heaven's sake you're a hundred years old, act like it. Have more understanding, I'm doing this for you.

RED: Is there really no other way??? What the heck is wrong with the world?? I can't even be with her romantically and now this??? I can't even be with her?

HUMILITY: It's a good thing right? You two could move on faster?

Red felt speechless. Humility got a fair point. However, he was so used to being by her side, that what he just said felt hard to swallow.

RED: Can't...can't I have two more months with her?

HUMILITY: Are you serious? You're risking your life for-

RED: Yes. You know what love feels like, right? If Carrie and you, are in my situation, I'm sure you may not leave the mortal realm at all. And live with her here.

Humility was shunned quiet after that. Red's love for her did not falter. Even if his life was on the line.

HUMILITY: I...I just don't want to lose you. I've lost a lot of people...I...I can't lose you.

RED: You won't...maybe. But...I...if this is the last wish I can make, please grant it. It's all I ask for. Just a bit of time.

HUMILITY: Okay. But...I...am not leaving your side till then. I'll guard her along side you. I don't want anything wrong to happen to you.

RED: O...okay, I get it, I get it. But...how...how am I going to tell her?

HUMILITY: It's up to you. Make sure she understands.

RED: Ugh, I'm sure Murasaki is going to he rejoicing himself the second he finds out.

Red was visibly upset, not ready for such a revelation, but what can he do? Stay longer, and he may not be lucky enough to save her and himself.

But if he simply leaves, he may regret it forever. Heck, he might even regret what he was doing now. Hopefully, Humility can protect him for the meantime. And hopefully, he can have the guts to leave her.

*Sigh*

He hoped that this 1 month and 19 days would be enough to fuel him up to tell her.

...

(Earlier)

Deltha, the former prince of the Divine Realm, was just out for a night walk. He saw a woman with two kids running around her, enough to explain the dark circles in her eyes, as well as her tangled hair.

He could tell she was furious, but too exhausted to yell, or perhaps she was just understanding, that what she have were young boys, still not wary of what they're doing.

Deltha smiles at them, and the mother did too.

He walks and walks, until he reaches the steps the man with the red eye took.

Although faint, Deltha could smell a dangerous scent lingering in the air.

He wondered who it belongs to, and why does he feel a bit overwhelmed.

He kept walking, and the scent kept growing stronger.

He immediately stops, and looks at his surroundings, wondering and thinking to himself.

Thinking it might just be himself being lonely, he keeps on walking, and walking. Until he spots a tall silloutte, seemingly expecting him.

The silloutte walked forward, and unsure if he was a friend or foe, Deltha walked backwards, while trying to figure out who the person was.

When the shade of the trees no longer hide the man in shadows, the moonlight illuminated the figure.

Turns out, it was just a bypasser with headphones on, who was very much confused as to why Deltha was walking backwards and looking at him, seemingly stricken in fear.

: Are you...alright, sir?

The man said, still puzzled.

Deltha, upon realizing his mistake, sighs in relief and quickly apologizes, to which the guy accepted as fast, as he walks away.

DELTHA: Well, that was embarrassing.

He continued to walk and walk...and walk, until he sees another man emerge from the shadows.

He have black hair, but that's all he could make up of him. He wears glasses, although unusually there was no need to, since it's already night time.

Deltha wrinkled his face in confusion.

But the man doesn't even seem to notice him.

More so, the man grew still, when he was nearing.

Deltha hesitated whether to ask the guy questions or not.

???: Ah, is anyone there?

Deltha was surprised he even spoke.

DELTHA: I...yes.

???: I lost...lost my cane, and I cannot see.

Deltha smiles and tried to search for the cane the man was searching for, but there was none.

He even searched on the bushes, hoping to find it there, since he didn't find anything on the road. But...there was none.

How and where did the man lost it's cane?

Was he pretending to be blind?

He comes forward to the man, to tell him that he failed finding his cane, but a different vibe could be sensed.

The man grins, and pulls off his glasses. Revealing a glowing red eye.

Deltha made a mistake of staring too long, as he feels himself weakening, a part of him getting sucked by the man before him.

What...power could this be?

???: Are...you, alright?

The man teased, as he holds Deltha in his arms, to continue sucking all the power from him.

Deltha's eyes began to water in pain, and his white long hair turned gray.

His youthful figure became wrinkled, and how he hoped that someone out there, would save him.

For the first time in the Divine Prince's existence, he felt great fear and dependence.

DELTHA: Alice...

The man kept smiling, pity absent from his eyes as he leaves the man, now weak and sobbing, alone on the street.

He continued to walk on, and advised by his followers, there was one jinx that had encountered Red more than they have. He just have to find Jinko. Who moves all the time.

...

Jerico woke up from a nightmare he can't even recall, but all his body remembers, is him, falling from a high place. A cliff, to be exact.

He had been getting nightmares more often. Since his discovery of Reapers and other Supernaturals. He tried to act normal, but knowing that they exist, worsened his insomnia.

He didn't want to worry his friends, so he always keeps a smile on his face.

But he now knows Gabby's secrets, and Gabby knows he knows as well. Despite it, they remained friends and Gabby showed no change in how she treats him. Kind. Soft.

But Jerico felt afraid, although still in love with her, was...uncertain if he must continue courting. After all, just what else could be there, lurking behind her?

His phone buzzed.

He woke up earlier than his alarm.

It was a Tuesday. And stressed from the work, and discovery, he decided to have a leave to have his mental health on check.

However, he did not intend to see an 80ish man laying on the street, begging for help to greet his morning.

He panicked. And his body shook in fear.

He runs towards the man, who was crying and begging to be helped.

Jerico fishes out his phone, dials 911, and in a shaky voice asked for help.

JERICO: I...I need an ambulance. Please, please...help.
