Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Huh?

Turning around the corner the first thing Xilo and Xelfia saw was of a couple of more rundown and abandoned buildings that no one would ever visit anymore but after looking around a little more they spotted an inn in the direction the women from before pointed them to. From afar it didn't look like a fancy of a place especially giving the location it was just perfect for the both of them. People still passed the streets quite frequently in this part of town and it was still more lively then a place like Turk but other then that it wasn't impossible to get used to like the entrance to Belturn was for them.

It was peaceful compared to that environment.

"Well looks like we weren't lied to at least."

"Or we just got lucky this time?"

"Maybe, haha"

Xilo might have been a little doubtful at first but in the end it worked in their favour. "Well if I see her again I can thank her." After a couple of minutes they finally were able to get close enough to see the building properly compared to before. It was a two story wooden building placed a little ways away from all the other shops on the street away from the abandoned ones. Unlike most of the other buildings in the area that they had seen this one looked relatively new. So that could probably be taken as a good sign or so Xilo hoped at least.

It was getting darker and darker outside as they moved forward and he was getting more tired as the day continued to finish out. While he might not always need a lot of sleep usually all the travelling he had done the past weeks with Xelfia combined with the new environment he was unfamiliar with and surrounded by he was seriously exhausted. Xelfia herself was no exception either. They both needed a good rest so at the very least he hoped finding this inn wouldn't be in vain so he didn't have to keep looking for other places to stay or worse sleep on the ground somewhere again. "Anything but that, please." He got the cold sweats just thinking about it.

Being lost in his thoughts Xilo was about to speak to Xelfia until something interrupted him.

"Hey Xe-"

Getting caught off guard he almost accidentally stumbled into someone but thankfully he was able to get his head in the game and notice it before he was too late. Even though he attempted to avoid the person in the end though they still came crashing into him regardless simply because they were faster then him in the end and with that he slightly braced himself well holding onto her and stumbled onto the ground slamming himself into the stone walkway beneath him. Thankfully it didn't hurt too badly for him as much as it might to others but that didn't mean it still didn't hurt especially with such velocity behind the fall.

"Ouch."

"At least I didn't bang my head off the ground." Taking his wins where he could get them he hurriedly tried to refocus himself well preventing the person he had caught from injuring themselves. Xelfia on the other hand saw the person approaching before but since she didn't sense any hostile intentions from the person coming she simply let it be for Xilo to handle. Of course she only let this happen because it was assuming to her though she did feel bad seeing Xilo hurt himself a little in the process. "Next time I should lighten the impact for him." Clearly she hadn't thought her mischief through thoroughly enough. "Though if Xilo knew what I was thinking I'd definitely be in for an earful, But that's fun too, Haha '' Silently laughing to herself she watched as Xilo reorganized himself.

Finally sitting up a little bit he continued to hold the person in his arms to prevent them from getting away from him and so he could question why it even happened in the first place. Though first he needed to know who did it. Looking down he was startled to see a girl sitting in his arms meekly looking up at him. Though the term girl might not be the best description for her because she looked slightly older then him but with the face she was making at the moment all he could connect the dots to was a girl. She had long Purple hair that was tied into a low ponytail that went beyond her shoulders just like his with big purple eyes seemingly staring at him with a pitiful look plastered all over her face. combined with her small nose and full lips with a small beauty mark under her eye in the shape of a clay surprisingly enough. She was a beauty alright but if he compared her to Xelfia and even most other beauty's in the world she was just simply above average.

Normal you could even say. Though that didn't really matter to him. What mattered was the fact that she looked so upset with a sense of urgency written all over her face while sitting in his arms looking at him. That's what made him swallow his complaints about the situation and instead focus on what was probably way more important to him. This strangers safety and well being. "Haaaa hopefully this is easier then i'd like it to be." He wouldn't say he was the absolute nicest person in the world but abandoning someone that seemed like they needed help and it was possible for him to do so without issues then it just wasn't on his to do list to do such things. "Haaaaa...I blame the books I read as a kid." All the books he had read of legends and heroes when younger had rubbed off him he knew that. But without them either he wouldn't have gotten to where he was today and he wasn't exactly complaining about helping others either. It was the one thing he had never received for a huge portion of his life so he wasn't about to do it to others and all he could do to that was give a slight wry smile to his thoughts.

"What's the matter?"

Since this was his only option he looked down to the girl and asked what was wrong but the answer he got back straight up shocked him so much he didn't know what to do in the absolute slightest and something Xelfia never thought she'd hear come out of the girls mouth either.

"I love you."

Mwhaha...

Enjoy
