Soon Reinhard reached the alleyway where Subaru was calling for help, and soon the thugs were running away with their tails between their legs. While the two were getting to know each other Kaji was looking down from the top of the building and observing the two. And he could tell that Reinhard knew that someone was observing them from the small movements he was making.
Soon Subaru and Reinhard went their own ways. Soon Kaji felt Reinhard standing right behind him, he couldn't help but smile. "Did you make a new friend Reinhard?" Kaji asked while continuing to look at the street, and people walking around.
"Haha, I'm not sure if I did." The knight said with a small laugh. "But Kaji, what are you doing here? Did you hear the scream for help too?" He asked.
"Nop, I'm just observing the capital city, it looks better when you look from the rooftops, than from the ground, don't you agree?" Kaji said while turning around.
"And here I thought, you were going to ask me for another spar."
"What, you think the only thing I do when I'm in the capital is spar with you?"
"Not at all, but do you perhaps know who the boy with the unusual appearance and clothing was? After all, you do know most things for some reason even taught, you never learned them from books." Reinhard commented with a smile.
"Well, what can I say, I'm a genius that way," Kaji said with a smirk "And no I don't know who the boy was." He continued.
"I see, well I'll be going now, there's still something I wanted to do today, but do come and visit if you have the time." Reinhard said before jumping down from the roof and walking away.
After he left, Kaji started to move towards the slums, he wanted to see how this was going to go. Soon he was walking towards the slums, and because he was wearing a kimono, he stood out. This made the slum dwellers wary of him, while they withdrew into their houses. Kaji paid them no mind, and continued walking, he had no idea where he was going, but that was fine.
While Kaji was trying to find his way through the slums, Subaru was increasing his pace as he thought of what he was going to do. But then he bumped into someone making him stagger back a bit. "Whoa!"
"Oh, dear I'm sorry. Are you alright?" He heard a feminine voice, but without even opening his eyes he started speaking. "Yeah, I'm fine I don't look it, but toughness is one thing I….have…" But he stopped speaking abruptly when he saw who he was speaking to.
He saw a smiling Elsa standing in front of him, Subaru could instantly recall how he died by her blade, and multiple times at that. He instinctively touched his stomach, while continuing to stare at her face. He was trembling in place, and Elsa could see it clearly.
"What's wrong?" She asked with a small giggle. "You don't have to be so scared. I won't do anything to you." She said while looking at the dark-haired boy.
"I…I'm not scared…..What gave you that idea?" Subaru spoke while his feet trembled.
"Your scent, when people are scared, I can smell their fear. Right now you are frightened, you're also angry, aren't you? At me." She continued to look at him as she seductively licked her lips. "It's fine, I'm a little curious, but this isn't the time to start a commotion." She said as he started walking away.
"That's not a very nice thing to say….If you're too scary, that beauty will go to waste-" Subaru spoke but then Elsa appeared right in his face again, before he could even end his sentence.
"Oh, very good, conceal your hostility and you will be even better." Elsa spoke while looking at Subaru's wide-open eyes, as she touched his hand that was still holding his stomach. "Well I'll be going now, something tells me that we will meet again." She said before she walked off, in the other direction of the slum.
Subaru felt like a rock was lifted from his chest, as he breathed out. He took a couple of deep breaths, before going in the direction where Felt was supposed to be at. Soon Subaru reached a small tattered house, covered in worn blankets, and other things. This made him wonder whether Elsa was here before him, but he didn't seem to smell any blood.
"What do you think you are doing, peeking into someone's house?" He heard a voice coming from behind him, and he knew that the owner of the said voice wasn't happy with him being here. But Subaru ignored it and turned around to see Felt standing there, one hand on her hip while another was holding a dagger.
"Sorry but there's nothing worth stealing in there. Beat it!" She said as she lifted the dagger and pointed it at Subaru, who was trying to explain himself.
Meanwhile, Kaji was walking around, he knew that he was lost, this for some reason reminded him of a swordsman who used three swords, who would constantly get lost, whenever left alone. "I'm not going to be like that, right?" Kaji asked himself while looking at the sky, which had started to change color. He could see the setting sun, shined and made the sky have this orange coloring.
