Chapter 288: Sabotage

Perseus POV

"Woah, you knocked him out, that's amazing." Lilith said while inspecting the now sleeping Cassius.

"I know, I'm amazing."

"That's not what I...hah, well, I set our 'son' to do the job for us, but you might want to go check on him as well, you'll never know about what can happen.

"Yeah, was just on my way, watch over your 2 siblings for me please, as for Cassius, you can tie him up or do whatever you want."

Cassius is out for now, but I know it won't be long, his mind just overloaded, and I'm just hoping that he can't use his powers to contact the people in this lab and tell me of my presence because the gods, if they really focus, can see and sense who is in the shadows, though it's not like they can do anything about it as long as it's me or Leilah.

As I moved through the shadows, I arrived in the shadows of Orion, who was now hiding in a toilet, I can sense Buddy coming in our direction since he can sense me.

"He then shook once I emerged from the shadows.

"Dude, you're gonna give me a heart attack, I would want to make it back home first and die peacefully there." Orion said while holding his chest.

"I don't think I look that scary."

"Then give me a warning next time, I'm still not used to people just walking out of the shadows, you know? I remember having nightmares about shadow monsters and you guys do not help since you confirmed that there's a different realm in the shadows."

"So how far have we got? And why are you hiding in the female's restroom? Let's find an empty breakroom for us to rest in."

We found such a room and met Buddy on the way, I used my skills to project an illusion and made the door into the breakroom just a wall, and we then entered it and barricade it from the inside, not like I had to worry too much about that, they won't even be able to tell the difference between the wall I made and the real ones.

We reported our sides of the story to each other, rested there for a while, steals some of the snacks, and heads back to shutting down and sabotaging this project.

Silently, I infiltrated the secret lab, weaving through the shadows and I approached each guard, dispatching them swiftly and efficiently, most of em didn't even make any sound as I continued my mission.

I then entered this room full of just babies with tubes and needles injected into them, I would love to kill these successes of their projects, but unfortunately, these are just babies who didn't ask to be born this way.

However, in another nearby room, I sabotaged the machinery and equipment in another room, disrupting the forbidden project at every turn. I manipulated the mana fueling those machines, casting spells that dismantled the intricate mechanisms.

I then arrived in another room where I use the power of the blue rose to kill the researchers in there by creating needles using the blue rose's power and I had them fly through their heads before they can even retaliate.

The room got tubes full of a certain specimen, a certain specimen that only a man can produce in order to make a baby...it's sperm, yeah, I don't know why I tried to tiptoe around that, this novel isn't PG-rated.

I left several explosives in there and I went out before setting them off, I don't want any splash or anything in there to touch me.

I can hear a lot of footsteps running in my direction, so I then dive back into the shadows. I went around and encountered a lot of things, some are useful for my village as well, a lot of different types of magical weapons, they're also trying to create a magic rifle, which is awesome.

We currently only have magic pistols, the ones I helped made, by helped, I meant I just got guys together and made them while I use my name on the paper as one of the main inventors, I'm like the fictional Thomas Edison.

Oh shut up, this novel calls out a lot of people, Edison had it coming.

Yeah, but for some of em, he didn't, and so let's just focus on the negatives.

It took about 2 days and we got back to Lilith's base where Cassius now had a sock stuffed into his mouth.

"Did he not stop?"

"oh no, he did, he just found something else to talk about." Leilah answered.

"Oh, what did he talk about?"

"He was just going on a rant about his own existential crisis, whether he really was just a self-obsessed man seeking validation. At least he served as good practice for Isfrid."

"And is that my sock?"

"Yes, Lilith has them."

Seriously? She's the reason why my clothes keep going missing, damn it, I might need to start having a more secure closet from now on, I would put them in my storage spell, but I like the aesthetic of having actual clothes in my closet.

"Where is Lilith?"

"She's out to vandalize his shrines." Leilah answered, "It's her own form of revenge, she's using her power as a goddess to transform herself to look like him and going around to do so, though yours is better since you also hide your own aura and someone hides your scent a little."

"Should we just have a god tied up with a sock in his mouth?" Orion asked, "I mean he is your brother and your future brother-in-law, shouldn't we comfort him before we leave?"

"Yeah, that's not my job." Leilah said while turning to me, "I would if we have time, but we don't, so...I love Cassius, but I need a year a least."

"It's my job to hasten the process...hah, let's get this over with, get me some dinner please."
