Phineas POV

I'm in an enclosed barrier, the scent of the black rose won't fly out, it's stuck in here along with me and him, the moment I lose my air magic armor, I'll lose in an instant. Perseus then clad a throwing knife with lightning magic and throws it in my direction, I then created a barrier in front of me which blocked the attack.

He then pulled out a strange weapon, it was a gun, a collector's item that originated in the world of the heroes, but unlike every gun I've seen, it shot out a bullet-shaped mana coming in my direction at a super quick speed. The velocity caused it to hit as hard as a regular spell.

In a blink of an eye, right after he gave me this smirk, Perseus split into several dozen clones of himself, all holding a gun and shooting at me. Since he's clearly planning on drawing this battle out, I've figured that it was more exhausting to dodge all of them, they're all just illusion clones' projections, they're fakes, and only one of the bullets is real.

But I was wrong, all of them hit me at once and they quickly broke through my barrier, I only had enough time to cast a small durable barrier spell around my head as the other bullets hit my armor and my exposed wings which gave me millions of volts of pain.

I shot my spell at one of the clones and they disappeared into a puff of smoke, leaving only a gun on the ground.

What in the world...? He can create illusions that are solid enough to hold a weapon? This is bad, I can see another clone took the place of the one I just destroyed and shot at me again. I can't stay on the defensive. I cast a large whip made of light using my powers as Michael, and I then extend it long enough to hit everywhere within the arena.

Just when the dust cleared and thinking that only one Perseus remains, I see no one on the field, and in another blink of an eye, another army of clones appeared and picked the gun up from the ground and shot at me repetitively again.

3rd Person POV

Rolan was watching the match, he can't miss this one, everyone knew that the winner of this duel and the one who qualified for the finals will win, the odds are on Phineas, he is the favorite despite everyone's displeasure for him being so, but he's worlds apart from the rest of the current participants.

The anti-magic cult is even more hated than the people of the village of the Paradis Tree, at that village doesn't go everywhere announcing that they are clearly better than everyone else and how everyone else is living in the wrong ways and demeaning other gods.

And by winning, their platform might just be bigger than they want, they'll probably announce their prophecy in front of everyone during their victory speech and award ceremony, no one wants that.

But something caught Rolan's eyes, in Trevor's waist was the same gun, the same feature, and everything, it was weird because this is the first time that the gun is being seen and used in public, a new weapon that is already causing an uproar within the audience and those of nobility.

It's a small weapon that is convenient to carry around for self-defense, lighter, and easier to wield than a sword. He then questioned Rolan about it.

"Oh, that's cuz I helped Perseus make it, my name is also on the patent." Trevor answers nonchalantly "He needed someone from what he calls 'the land of the free' because we know a lot about guns, and so he gathered this great weaponsmith from both through his black market connection and his demon girlfriend."

"So you helped the enemy?!" Rolan exclaimed which got everyone's attention

"Enemy? Perseus is neutral, you know that, even those in the black market. And if you think you can try to steal my invention, it's been registered with the board of economy in Tehios, it's valid in every continent now."

"That's not the point! Demon girlfriend?! She's a general, the bane of our existence!" Rolan retorted "You worked with the demons?! That means the enemy got access too."

"For the record, unlike you all, I quite like demons." Trevor countered "And clearly, no offense to your education system, but the 4 great continents should have figured it out ages ago since we're the one with the most heroes. And since there's none, I took it within my own hands to do it in 2 weeks, all it needed with the cooperation of 2 demons and a half-breed."

"Yeah, the 2 demons are our enemies, that's treason!" Rolan accused him "And your like for demons is only from those stupid cartoon books with stupid characters like that stupid rubber man and that stupid bald hero in a rubber suit."

"HOH?!" Trevor gasped "Stupid rubber man?! Stupid hero in a rubber suit?!"

"And what's with that ninja anyway?" Rolan continued "Why is he blond? Isn't he supposedly Japanese? And if he's a ninja, why can't he just dye his hair black and wear things that aren't brightly colored like that orange jacket to blend in better?"

"You seriously wanna go?!" Trevor snapped back "I'll seriously go, you can disrespect my decision all ya want, but if you keep going that route, I'll seriously cut off your dick and make sure you don't create disrespectful brats."

|Funny story, I will not explain it in long details, but there was a kid at my school who cut off his own dick, it happened at school, and I will not explain anything further.|

"Sit back down, we're in the presence of nobles, hero or not, know your place." the other hero hissed at them "Rolan, apologize, and Trevor, next time you do that, tell the rest of us, you could have been ambushed or killed."
