Doubts and Questions

I sat up from my bed, contemplating for a bit about everything right now. Summer breeze softly blowing outside and into the room. I play with my light blond lock of hair, mindlessly. I really am in a different world. God didn't explain shit before throwing me to this world.

But really.

It's one thing to know your own life story, but it's another thing to merge two life stories into one person. Because now I have the memories of another person who was coincidentally named Kin. Kin Galanodel and my memories, Kin Kokoro. This is also probably not a coincidence.

Right now, Kin and I are one. But the memories of us both are quite a bundled mess after being forced to combine. It's uncanny. I feel myself and yet like I've lived twice at the same time. I blame God for this early in the morning.

I sigh.

I quickly got out of bed. Threw my blanket off of me, folded it neatly and made my way slowly towards the dining area. Various scents wafted through the air and into my nose. Homemade food. I smiled. I don't think I remember the last time I had a homemade dinner cooked by my parents in my old life.

But then I quickly frowned. I don't understand why God couldn't have just transported me directly into this world without all the golden truck business and getting me to die brutally. Gently handling my soul into a new body or just letting me die in my sleep instead of the whole truck shenanigan.

'Because it would be less fun if I did it like that'

That answers my question. Of course it would be out of sheer unadulterated boredom. I blink for a bit because here I am, sitting on a wooden table with a long table in front of me. Even if my body's still sore, I hastily picked a few of the food laid on the table. What. The whole shenaniganry of it has made me hungry.

____________________________________________________________________________

From what I know, we are living between the outskirts of the capital city of Forsberg and Ladrones Forest. As to why we live so far away, is because the houses in the city are just extremely expensive and so far away from the forest anyways.

Also, the few days were fine. My dad and I went out to hunt after breakfast every other day. Sometimes, I train with my dad with regards to swords and bows. If I had wings, he would have taught me to fly as well. I would also want to learn, but yay… born into a human body in a fantasy world of all things.

I soon picked up on Kin Galanodel's progress, I'd say… we aren't half-bad. Not legendarily skillful in swordfighting, but was good enough to hold off against. Still hurts to get hit though.

With my mother, I learn and practice basic magic. Sounds like generic fantasy protocol, but it's still really interesting to have. Convenient as well. I can see why characters in old fantasy stories I had read before would throw themselves into the endeavour to master it. It's fun and all to randomly create the elements out of nothing but mana. But, I still miss technology. All the games, the internet (ok maybe not all of it), and just all of the ebooks & articles on there. I'd say I'm also quite decent at it, so was Kin Galanodel before I came crashing in.

But now I'm here I guess. Standing near my mom, telling me about magic out by a small clearing a bit away from the house. I zone out a bit and think.

'Hey God, I know you're watching and everything. But can you at least tell me how magic actually works in this world?' I thought, calling them out even though they might not answer. It's not that I don't trust my mom's words. There just might be something people don't know about it yet.

Silence, except for the lecture on mana. I didn't hear a response from them. Suddenly, Flames flicker in front of me, floating up my mom's hands. Warm. "This is how you do a simple little fire, Kin" they told me, carefully showing it to me before letting it be extinguished by the soft blowing winds.

"That is all, Kin. I do hope you were listening to me about spellcasting" I slowly nodded my head, guiltily knowing that I did not. She went back home after the whole thing, she told me to come back as well but I asked for a few minutes of rest.

...

'Anything is possible with the right amount of mana, and imagination'

I groan, annoyed. Thanks for the wonderful tip, I guess.

'No problem.' I was being sarcastic. Again.

I'm gonna have to take a visit to the city for some books on it since internet doesn;t exist to just, search up the type of spell that's available-

Wait.

I try imagining mana like all those mangas have, I try to imagine it forming light in my hands like a hologram. Forming the image of it in my mind like a greenish screen in front of me, and having it search all known spells existing like a large consensus scan.

'Pfft, I think you're forgetting the mana part of what I've said. You're putting in too little of it, like you're afraid it's gonna explode or something. You know what, here.'

Suddenly, I felt like I was about to explode. The mana made a large shockwave that spread like a radar on my surroundings. I was pushed down to the floor by how strong it was. I sat up in silence.

'Now it actually exploded.' This conniving God, it didn't work. He could have blown me up for the heck of it. Why I oughta-

I heard a blip in front of me. A screen formed in front of me, a list of spells just ready to be read was on it. What did you know… it actually worked.

'Told you so.'
