Chapter 147

"So tell me."Susan said angrily."Do you know the killer? That beast? That demon who took your father's innocent life away from him?"

"Yes."

"Who is it?"

Leila paused and indeed regretted."It's...It's Edgar."

"After all these years,it's....him?"Susan could not believe it. She was dumbstruck. Of course Edgar possessed a strong power but why could he had killed her only husband? It was too hard for her to pick those in mind.

"How.....how is it possible? How is it Edgar? What does he have to do with dad's death?"

"Kayla I know how confused you are right now but it's true. He is the one I saw."Leila told her."Apart from Zenith."

"Just.....keep quiet!"Susan shouted. She was fed up having

    anything to do with the world and people beyond physical."And don't mention his name.....or any other names!"

"Mother....."

Now, Kayla knew her mother's anger was far from normal.

"The only thing those people brought to us were pain and suffering. I don't want to see any of their faces in this house."

"But they saved you."

"Saved me? Of course they did. They are not humans! And why are you defending them like that Leila?"

That really struck her. She had never heard Susan raise her voice so high on her.

The room which was one filled with stability had now become unstable.

Leila just lowered her head in shame and stared at Kayla who did not know what to say or do.

She didn't want to intervain.

Looking at Leila's attitude, Susan picked up the pieces.

"You love him right? You love Zenith."Susan asked sternly."Did I not tell you not to go too close to him? DIDN'T I !!!"

"Mom stop it!"Kayla cut her off."Just....stop it."She paused and stared with her eyes fixed on Leila.

"And so what if she likes Zenith. It's not like she will be with him forever. Zenith is not human. Humans and non-humans don't mix."

She had a point there.

"It's all in the past. Why don't you people let it go. Now we all know dad's killer and finally he can rest in peace. If dad was here,do you think he will be happy to see this?"She asked."Do you?"

And she was right. There was no way Noah would ever be happy seeing them like this.

"What's up with you people and not leaving things to where they're supposed to be?"Leila shouted.

She didn't even think of spending another time hearing any of their blabbing.

"It's not all immortals who are bad mom. If dad could see that,then I hope you can also."

"If you want to kill yourselves just because of some immortals who can possibly live till God comes, then you can do it. I'll be your coach."Kayla told them and dashed out.

Leila just looked at Susan with disappointment and made her way out.

"If dad could.....what was she trying to mean?"

"Kayla... wait."

"Yeah?"She said and scoffed."I thought you would be dead by now. Why?  You decided to prospone that eh?"

"Kayla...."

"Come here."Kayla hugged as her eyes watered."Thanks okay? You were the only person to tell who actually killed dad and you did. Thank you for that."

"You're.... welcome."

She replied and hugged.

Now you can rest in peace dad. Leila told herself. She was now relieved of the burden she had for fifteen years.

"I need to tell you something...."

"So.... Zenith will be crowned tonight? Finally it's about time Getra gets an heir."

"I'll be glad if you come with me."

"I'm sorry but I can't."Kayla told her.

"If it is Ezra I promise he won't come near you."Leila assured her of that.

"He will be there too. He's his cousin."

"And you're my sister."Leila said as she placed her hands on hers."As long as I live he won't even dare hurting you. You've really helped me Kayla and I must do same."She smiled."So will you come with me?"

She had to. Or else she knew the trouble Leila would be."Alright."
