"So, now do you want to leave or stay?" Alan asked as he retreated back to his throne.
Rose thought for a while and said "I guess I should stay. I need to be more useful and learn the best way to start."
Aland smirked as she took her seat. The entire crowd stayed silent. He looked at one of the men sitting closest to the throne and said "Prime Minister Darin, would you like to present current issues?"
"Yes, your majesty!" The man sitting on the chair wearing a white suit stood up and spoke.
He raised his hand towards his servant who came him a scroll. Opening the scroll, he turned at Alan and began to read.
"Your Majesty, currently we are facing the drought in the northern cities. They said that the river that follows Mt. Xavier has been blocked for some reason. Without enough water, we can't raise enough sheep, chicken, buffalo, ox, and deer for the winter."
"Not only that, but we are also facing the problem for our crops. Currently, we do not possess enough water sources to grow enough white, rice, mustard, and other crops. I have personally sent a group of five soldiers but none of them has returned for seven days."
"We are unable to find the source of that obstruction. If your majesty gives me the order, I can immediately use Division F for this mission."
The Prime Minister was a middle-aged man with a toned body. He had a great mustache with clean shaved jaws.
Hearing his words, Alan thought for a moment.
"Please use Division D for this mission. They are more skilled in stealth jobs. I don't think this matter can be easily solved by Division F alone. Also, ask Mark to go with them."
The Prime Minister was startled when Alan suggested him. He sighed and thought 'It seems his majesty has finally started taking his role seriously. But, what could have bothered his majesty to let Mark join in this mission?'
"Yes, your majesty! Then, should I speak about the second issue?" The Prime Minister asked as he took the second scroll from his servant.
"Yes, please!" Alan nods his head while Rose listened to the conversation with boredom. Unlike the first issue, other issues were only simply normal. They were only asked to get his consent and some other treasury-related issues.
But, the last issue before the end of the royal meeting was interesting.
"Your Majesty, Elf Kingdom has recently sent a news that they want to bring peace between two kingdoms. They said that the new Elf King wants to visit our kingdom very soon."
As soon as his words rang on everyone's ears, everyone had a different reaction.
"Your Majesty, we shouldn't let them visit our kingdom. We shouldn't forget the days when they pushed us to the corner miserably when we tried to protect you. They must have some kind of evil intention." Suddenly, a man in a red suit stood up and shouted.
"Minister Shade, we shouldn't linger with past. If they want to bring peace together, we should support them. After all, Elf Kingdom has given us a great help against the Sun Kingdom." The bald man wearing the blue suit stood up as well and shook his head.
"What do you know about lingering with the past? Do you think without a past, we can have a motivation to move forward in the future? Your majesty, Elves wanted to kill you in the past. They won't hesitate in the future either. Once your friend points the sword at you, he won't hesitate to point it a second time." The man in a red suit sternly spoke as he looked at Alan with sharp eyes.
"Minister Shade, you are overly cautious. You are right. They won't hesitate to betray us. But, remember, there are no eternal friendships. There are only eternal benefits. We mustn't decline their offer. Instead, we should think about how to use this opportunity in our favor." The bald man spoke as he turned his head at Alan.
Hearing their words, Alan sighed and said "Minister Ken, Minister Shade, please take your respective seat. This is not a simple matter. We can't decide based on our emotions. Minister Ken is right. There is no eternal friendship."
"We must do what will be the best for our kingdom. I will not take a decision as an elf-half who was hunted by them. I must take a decision as king of my kingdom. But, this topic is a little heavy. I need the viewpoint of everyone."
"But, currently, we don't have much time. So, let's take a lunch break!"
"Huh!" When he mentioned how he will take a decision, everyone looked at him with satisfaction but his last words confused them.
"But, your majesty, there is half an hour left before the lunch break." Prime Minister Darin suddenly spoke as he glanced at the sand clock.
"Prime Minister, you can wait for the meal but I can't. So, every one it's lunch break!" As soon as he finished speaking, he caught Rose's hands and rushed out of the Royal Hall leaving everyone in dismay.
'Is that really our king?'
They knew just how much he dislike wasting his time eating. Every day, he holds royals for an hour or even two just because he doesn't feel like eating. Now seeing him running away for food made them surprised.
"I heard that our queen was a cook previously." Suddenly, one of the men in white spoke.
His words instantly gained their attention. They didn't know why but they started drooling.
'Even our kingdom's best cook wasn't able to make his majesty interested.'
'Just what kind of food can her highness make?'
'Is it really that tasty to make his majesty run like that?'
'Should we?'
'No, no, it won't be a good idea to stalk on their meal.'
'But, we aren't commoners. We have dined with his majesty many times. We can give it a try.'
'Just once, let's try! I am really curious about her highness. First, that smile and now he is also hungry.'
'Do you think it is a good idea to change like this?'
'Hmm! I don't know but I feel this change might bring good things to our kingdom. Maybe it was a fate.'
'But, she is still just a human. She won't live more than a hundred years.'
'Idiot! Do you really think the Grand Elder hasn't thought about this? He knows this but doesn't care. Once her highness gives birth to a child, he will be a complete bloodline. That means it won't be a problem for our kingdom.'
'Umm! What are you guys waiting for? I want to see her highness cooking.'
'Me too!' 'Me three!' 'Me four!'
The ladies who had attended the royal meeting rushed towards the secret door. They end up coming in front of a normal kitchen. When they didn't see Alan and Rose, they asked the cooks of that kitchen.
They didn't know Alan have made a secret room for cooking only for Rose. For a moment, they wandered around aimlessly. But, suddenly one of them sniffs a strong aroma. As soon as she smell it, her eyes lit up as she chased the smell.
They ran so fast that they ended up colliding with the door and fell to the ground.
"Huh?" Rose and Alan looked at the group of ministers and royal on the ground with confusion.
