Chapter 11

Just as he had planned the ra'zac did see the black blade. It filled their vision just as they took a step forward. They pauses as their sight suddenly became filled with a pitch black blade. Their minds worked overtime, as they hit the hard steps below, dodging the blade by a hairs breathe.

Sadly this didn't include the soldier behind them. As it continues on bisecting the unfortunate soldiers only dissipating after cutting through at least a dozen or so of them. It was a horrifying sight to see unnerving the soldiers who were fortunate enough not to be touch but the reinforced blade of wind.

The ra'zac ignored this scene as they quickly unsheathed their swords, look up towards where the attack came from. Heavy footsteps rung out on the cobblestone floors as.

"How nice of you to show up so willingly. And here I was going through so much trouble hunting for you." As he finished his sentence he finally stepped into view. His imposing figure only served to unnerve the soldiers even more.

The ra'zac were only more cautious about the situation. They still had confidence in their strength and their experience in fighting over the years. But they were quickly shown just how wrong they were.

As they began taking their first steps towards him, they noticed something strange. Something was blocking their view. They slowly came to realize that it was the man they were hunting for. In the very same instant they took a step forward, he'd somehow transversed the entire distance between them.

He lifted his sword up high slashing down at the smaller of the two ra'zac. It was only able to lift its sword high enough to avoid ending up like the deceased soldiers behind it. But that's all it could do avoid dying. It couldn't avoid the force behind the blow.

It felt its body lift up as it achieved take off, being sent flying off the stairs into a building nearby. Its partner used this split second to thrust its sword towards Eragon's chest, intending to pierce it.

It had orders not to kill him from the king but at this point it didn't know if it would be even possible at this time. So it had to take a chance and try to at least injure him severely, hopefully enough to restrain him.

Alas the sword never reached its intended target. For Eragon the blade was moving in slow motion. He simple slapped the flat of its blade, diverting its course just enough to miss him. He in return slammed his swords pommel down onto the ra'zac's head.

A sickening crunch was heard as he felt something splatter against the bottom of his hand. He ignored it though as his body spun like a top as he delivered a round house kick, targeting its face once again. And with another resounding crunch it was sent flying just like it companion.

Seeing his main targets were down for a moment he decided to inspect what was on him. A quick glance down revealed it to be a greenish grey liquid. It was on both the bottom of his hand and the bottom of his boot. That and the acid like oil that was on his haki covered hand. Which had protected his skin from its flesh eating properties, when he slapped the sword.

'Hmm, so they do bleed just like anyone else, it's just their blood isn't red. It's… whatever this shit is', He thought to himself flicking his hand and his foot to get it off of him. He didn't know if it was dangerous or not to have it on him and he sure as hell wasn't going to take any chances.

Focusing again he looked at the soldiers still a short distance away. They were all staring at him vigilantly in fear as they saw him turn his sights on him. Just the man's presence alone was enough to make a grown man shake in his boots. That and the fact he'd decimated their comrades with a single attack. Cutting through armor, flesh, and bone alike, as if it were butter under a hot knife.

Eragon on the other hand looked at them indifferently. They weren't his targets, but they could it in the way of his hunt. They still hadn't tried to flee yet, which he assumed they were either dumb and decided to try and fight him or they were paralyzed in fear. Either way they were still an annoyance as they could get in his way.

He always cleared things that got in the way of things he was trying to do. Hence his decision to send another black blade of wind their way. He was somewhat merciful though as he didn't use his full strength and send it flying at full speed or he might kill all the soldiers as they wouldn't be able to react fast enough to dodge.

It was gave them enough time to dodge, if they were fast on their feet. Which while some wore, some were not. They died like the people before them, cut in half, eyes still wide in shock as they felt their conscious slowly fade into the abyss of the afterlife.

The lucky survivors took this as their cue to leave, as they fumble their way back down the wide cathedral stairs, trying to put as much distance between them and the monster in human skin they had been sent to capture. Orders be damned as it was nothing they could do to even fight that man. A few more sword strokes from that blade and their guts would also be painting the cathedral steps. Spilling out like a sacrifice to the bleak peaks the priest of Dras-Leona worshiped.

During this Eragon watched as the soldiers moved fast as if a fire was lit under their asses. After watching them all go away, he turned to where the smaller ra'zac had been sent. With a few taps of foot he was in front of the now collapsed building.

Surprisingly although it was bleeding a little bit, the ra'zac seemed to be fine overall. It was hiding behind a veil of dust as it tried recover a bit before it went back out. But it's recover was cut short as it saw another blade of wind cut through the dust speeding towards it. It ducked dodged it before dashed out to where the wind blade came from.

The moment it was about to step out of the dust though, a fist popped out of it from its side, landing squarely against its gut. It's insides shook as the force bounced off its internal organs causing intense pain to follow.

Soon though it pain was ended. As a sword was the next thing to come through the dust. It pierced its head easily coming through to the other side. The poor creature didn't even have time to react before it died instantly. While others might argue it deserved a much more harsh death for all the heinous things it had done within its life, Eragon felt it didn't matter. A dead person was a dead person, well that and the fact he didn't have time to dilly dally.

He pulled his sword out of the now dead ra'zac's body and let it fall to the floor. He grabbed its ancient leaf blade sword from its loosened grip, inspecting it. Seeing that it was still in prestige condition he came to the realization that it must of been enchanted by magic to stay in such condition after receiving such heavy blows.

It's be a good addition to his arsenal and it would help him end the fight faster. So after getting a comfortable grip on it. He turned to lifting his new blade blocking the sword of the one ra'zac left alive. It opened it beak releasing a shrill screech from its beak as it saw its fallen companion .

[A/N: Just realized I never went into detail about the ra'zac's looks. Here's a photo]

It began swinging its blade faster that ever, with its anger fueling its newfound strength as it tried to cut down Eragon. Completely forgetting its orders to capture him altogether.

A shower of sparks rained down as their blades blurred. While the ra'zac was giving it all to kill him, Eragon was calmly assessing the creature in front of him.

"Your blows are fueled with anger. Your style is getting sloppy. Such a pitiful creature you are, let me release you from your suffering and send you to meet your companion."

As the ra'zac hacked at him instead of parrying, he locked the ancient leaf blades hilt with Zar'roc's hilt, and thrusted up with his newly acquired blade. It pierced the base of its bird like skull sticking out of the top of its head like a unicorn horn.

The ra'zac's body twitched for a moment as it's brain stopped functioning. Eventually it's grip grew limp and it's blade fell from its hand, clattering as it hit the cobble stone road. He pulled the sword out of its head and let the body fall limply to the cobblestone road.

Eragon quickly dragged it by its cloak toward where its partner had died. Once he'd gotten them together he quickly did a body search. The only thing he found which he considered useful, were a couple bottles of Seithr oil and their sword sheaths which he put on his waist, bringing his sword collection up to three.

After finding all that was useful he devoured them both, feeling his body grow even stronger than it already was. Which was pretty damn high. In their fight he'd found he had about the same strength as they did. It was only due to his extremely high combat standards, body control, and fighting experience that he overwhelmed them both.

And now he'd assimilated their remaining strength with his, he had no clear picture of where he stood. Was he as strong as an elf now? He still doubted he could beat a dragon in strength. But that was only for now he'd eventually get there.

He took one of the cloaks the ra'zac's used coving himself before he took off towards the direction of the city's gate. He used the buildings walls as footholds traveling above the crowds to avoid getting bogged down by cities residents.

Where ever he went people would look in amazement, as he seemed to defy the laws of gravity . And when he eventually made it to the gates he was surprised to see Brom riding Snowfire out the gates as the soldiers behind him were on the ground.

He used the moment they were distracted with Brom to follow behind them. As he went at full speed, it looked like multiple people in black cloaks running towards the gates. By the time they could even react to him he'd also passed through the gate, leaving the city of Dras-Leona behind.

they said i have covid and put me in the insulation barracks. Found out it was bullshit as they get paid for covid patients. I at least have my phone while in here.
