The Demon Eater

"Hahaha!", a burst of loud laughter became louder as it resounded in the barren land around the Sacrifice filled with inactive volcanoes.

"We reached this place earlier than expected!", Emperor Sheng Ju Long acted as if this was a field trip along with his friends. While his eyes stuck at the massive volcano in front of him, he said with excitement, "I will finally know what's inside that."

Emperor Wang Song had smiles on his face too said, "Do we have to climb that thing?", before laughing a bothered laugh.

"Why not just destroy the top half of the Sacrifice, you asked?"

"No, I didn't ask that."

The clear blue sky was covering the barren land with light and heat, making thick shadows between rocks, fissures, and crevices in the dry soil. However, amidst the clear sky, the peak of the Sacrifice was still covered by clouds.

Patriarch Lei looked behind him before sighing and looking around, "There is really nothing here..."

"That strange and powerful flux of energy that came from here!", Sage Wen Kuo exclaimed, "It appears that there is only one source."

On his side, Sage Xiang Ho nodded.

They all knew that even before Sage Wen Kuo emphasized that, yet none of them had the slightest of cold feet as they continue to walk placidly towards the strange.

They are simply too confident to be fazed by the unknown.

"Say, Emperor Wang Song,", Emperor Sheng Ju Long touched his beard, "If you do successfully hire the Assassin of Light, do you think you could ask her to assassinate one of that side?"

Emperor Wang Song immediately shook his head, "That would be impossible. I honestly don't think that I can control Asurii using heirloom scraps from different families. There are just a few dark horses around my empire so finding one otherworldly item will only depend on my luck."

Emperor Sheng Ju Long stayed silent, he still not got the answer he wanted.

"And if I do get lucky and hired Asurii, it is possible to kill one of that side. I think that Asurii doesn't discriminate.", Emperor Wang Song smiled.

"Ohhh...", a brighter smile showed on Emperor Sheng Ju Long's face.

While the two Emperor was having their own conversation, they got closer and closer to the foot of the Sacrifice as they saw something out of place.

On the foot of the Sacrifice, it was filled with beds of flower fully blooming under the clear sky.

On top of the Sacrifice, the man with black hair and black eyes was sitting on the mouth of the massive volcano while looking down onto the Powerhouses.

"Here they are, here they are!", he excitedly exclaimed before standing up and looked at the object immutably floating in the middle of the volcano's crater.

He looked down and mocked, "Stupid beast, making me do such an embarrassing thing!", he clicked his tongue, "I'm going to slaughter all of your kind after I return to my peak, Demon Eater."

Before a slight hesitation, the man abruptly sprinted towards the object as fast as he could. The closer he is, the face that formed from the flowing magma and molten rocks revealed itself more as it angrily looked at him.

It was unknown what cultivation the man was currently on but from his speed alone, one could tell that he is not ordinary. Even if the diameter of the crater is far, the man covered them by seconds. By the time the man was a meter away from the object, the face lit hellish red as it opened its mouth. The magma and molten rocked flowed more violently as it trembled.

The man had his face filled with cold sweat smiled when he touched the object. By taking a closer look, the object was a black lustered shield.

"There!", the man shouted after touching the black lustered shield.

The trembling face shot a fierce and sharp fire blast towards directly the black lustered shield. It did not even take a second before the fire blast reached it as it surpassed the sky and cleared all the surrounding clouds.

Ear piercing sounds of explosion resounded in the quiet barren of land as the fire rose, creating a pillar to the heavens.

On the foot of the Sacrifice, the Powerhouses only felt a slight tremble on the ground but an immense sharp flux of energy from the Sacrifice, it is when they saw the only clouds covering the peak of the Sacrifice instantly vanished as a fire pillar rose violently towards the sky.

"What?!", Patriarch Lei shouted. That was not a normal eruption of a volcano!

Something else is within that thing that shot that fire! And what kind of creature could produce a thing?!

"Here it comes!", Emperor Wang Song warned as a huge earthquake struck the surrounding ground.

Sliding down the Sacrifice, the black-haired, black-eyed man was shouting excitedly as he leaves clouds of dust.

His speed was not only accelerating due to gravity but with his energy resulting in no time, he landed on the bed of Soulless Garden.

His heart was still beating loudly. If he was even a bit slow there, he may have been pulverized into ashes after having contact with that powerful fire. Also, it frustrated him to death as he stomped around uncaring for the flowers.

"If only I was at my peak, raising one finger could stop that little burn!", he shouted in anger while the sudden earthquake agreed with him before he calmed down and looked at the surrounding bed of flowers as it shook.

However, even if the land were diverging and converging by the earthquake, the Soulless Garden seemed to be fine.

The man was not surprised as he bowed down plucked one of the flowers with an ear-to-ear smile.

"Time to be at my favor, Demon Eater!", he shouted before laughing hysterically.

He looked towards the peak of the Sacrifice to see the emerging of the great Demon Eater that guards the Immovable Shield.

The flowing magma and molten rocks slowly rose as a black clawed hand grabbed the mouth of the Sacrifice, instantly destroying the frail wall of rocks.

The wrist of the black hand had a broken chain surrounding it.

After destroying the frail wall, the hand swooped past and destroyed the surrounding wall of the volcano, revealing its monstrous body.

Dry and molten rocks flew as they turned into fragments.

The Powerhouses were amazed by this, they were unfazed by the rocks and magmas showering the barren land.

"So all the strange phenomenon came from this thing!"

They saw a gigantic slender human figure on top of the halved Sacrifice. Its body was formed by the contents of the volcano as if the Sacrifice itself was just its outer shell. Unresting fire blazed upon its cracks of its body while unending smoke steamed out of it.

However, the black-haired man found something that caused him irritation. One of the hands of the Demon Eater had its wrist still chained to the deepest point of the earth, making it unable to fully move.

His head twitched with anger and irritation as he whispered, "It appears I miscalculated,", he turned his head around, "It seemed that there are two Soulless Gardens in this place!"
