Denzel was done taking a bath, he walked out of the room, a towel rolled around his neck, he held the two ends of the towel as he walked to the living room.
"Ted, what did-" Denzel was about to get to the sitting room, he was about to say something to Ted when he overheard Ted mumbling something, it was safe to assume that he was conversing with someone on the phone.
"For now, that's is all I heard from him...
Yes, that's right, but I wasn't able to get more than that, I would keep checking him up for some more information...
Nope... Never mind about that, he can't know about it, he is not that bright,"
Denzel was bewildered, the phone conversation sounded like they were talking about him, but he didn't want to make any groundless judgments, at the same time, he didn't want to trust Ted totally since he had even trusted Leia more than he even trusted Ted.
'Should I ask him about it...? No, I shouldn't, it would be an easy thing for him to lie if he is really snitching on me, or maybe I should get back to Grayson and ask him why he said that about Ted... No, I don't know what Grayson really wants too, I would just keep asking Owl about Leia, and I should keep it all to myself for now,' Denzel thought, moving into the living room, walking towards the dining that was just beside the living room.
When Denzel got into the sitting room, he saw that Ted changed the topic of what they were saying, but he wasn't still sure if Ted was talking about him or not.
"Yes dad, the gardener said nothing more than that, I am sure of it... I would speak to you later," Ted dropped the call, he looked at Denzel and smiled, "You are here, I made pasta for you, eat it before you go,"
Ted wasn't the type to smile, so Denzel felt it was weird.
"Was that your dad?"
"Yes, he was asking about our gardener,"
'I never asked about that, Ted,' Denzel thought to himself. "So Ted, is your dad still mad at you? He doesn't know I am living with you, does he?"
"Naa, he is no more mad at me, after I clarified all that happened between Leia and the rest, he finally understood that you didn't do it,"
"Ahh, that's good," Denzel forced a smile on his face as he sat down to eat the food that Ted served him.
The whole place was silent till Denzel was done eating, he took his shirt, wore it, and walked towards the entrance door, he was ready to leave.
"Ted, I am off," Denzel didn't turn to take a look at Ted, he was about to pull the doorknob when Ted called out his name.
"Denzel, take care of yourself, don't stress it, if anything feels wrong, call me, you can always speak to me, I am all ears," Ted smiled once more, waving to Denzel as he walked out the house.
"Okay."
Denzel chose to stride to Leia's hideout, so he could clear his mind, he didn't take note of where he was, all he knew was that he kept walking and that at some point, he was going to get to the hideout.
"What if he was really talking to his dad? How would I even know, it isn't like being a BEAST can make you read the mind of someone...
Do I need to think that now? Whatever he might have said to me, I am sure he was talking about me," Denzel wiggled his head, slapping himself twice, "this won't help," Denzel looked around him for if there was a place that he could switch with his eagle.
Denzel kept walking forward till he saw somewhere safe, he walked to that area, swapping with his Eagle as soon as he got there.
Mical took off, flying to Leia's hideout as fast as he could.
When Denzel got there, he made sure to land in the compound so that he won't have to stress himself looking for the safest place to transform.
Denzel looked into the hole that was just close to the door, so it would scan his eyeball.
"Owl, I am back," Denzel looked around as he walked in, it was silent and empty, he went to where Owl stayed the most, the technical room, assuming that he would be there as he always does.
"Owl...?" Denzel was about the open the door to the technical room when he heard that Owl was on a call.
"No babe, do you really think I would tell him such a thing? I can't do that, who told you such a thing... Yes, babe... I am sorry, I won't call you that again... No, I am okay with whatever job you give me, I can't do a thing," Owl kept explaining, his voice showing how much he panicked. The next thing Denzel heard was the sound of something shattering, and Denzel knew that Owl was mad about something.
"Owl, I am coming in," Denzel entered the room, he saw how scattered everywhere was, he knew he couldn't say anything to calm Owl down, " I am back," Denzel said.
"Okay... Good,"
Owl walked towards one of the corners in the room, he looked as furious as ever.
'How did she find out about it, I am sure I was not wiretapped or something, or, does E have any means of contacting Leia privately? Maybe I just have to kill him, that might be the only option,' Owl took a glimpse at Denzel, biting his thumb as he did, 'it isn't too late to do that, the next mission he goes for, that's all I have to do.'
Owl turned to Denzel, smiling for the first time. "How was your break?"
"It was fine... huh... why is everyone smiling at me today?"
"Huh? I shouldn't smile, I was thinking of getting closer to you,"
Denzel didn't know what to say, he was sure that something was wrong between all of them but, he could not just make out what it was.
"Denzel, I am going to tell you what your second mission is right now, so by midnight, you are to move, that's the only time you can get them."
Owl described some other things about the mission to Denzel, and Denzel was kind of agitated since that was the first-ever that he would do on his own. He didn't know what to do about his inability to kill, but he promised himself to find a solution to that problem.
