Chapter 14

ELIJAH

I was ready to go pick up Morgana who seemed excited when I had invited her to dinner with me. I was slowly going to get my revenge and I'll do it slowly that no one would know.

I was already dressed in my favorite suit and was smelling like heaven and looking dashing as usual when Dom asked to see me. It wasn't unusual since we were even closer than he was with Xavier.

"Why didn't you come earlier?" I asked him but he hissed and took a seat opposite me.

"I had to do some work for the king." Dom responded but seeing the look on my face, he had to correct himself. "I remember you told me not to call him the king. I'm sorry."

"That throne belongs to me and I'll take it from him." I responded and Dom nodded in agreement. "Did you get the information about the lady in the garden?"

"Yes I did but I don't know much. She was just a lady that Xavier had saved and brought back here. From what her maids told me, it seems she had an abusive mate so she was running from him when they met. This is all I know, Xavier has not been very open to me about her."

"Hm.." I furrowed my eyebrows in thought. "Why would Xavier bring in a woman if he wasn't interested in her? Do you know the last time Xavier ever liked a girl?" I asked Don chuckling and without waiting for his response, I answered. "High school."

It was getting interesting indeed and I haven't even started yet. I knew Xavier never really liked Jessie and didn't want to marry her even though she was the one the queen mother chose but it didn't make sense that he had brought Morgana to the Palace, only to ignore her.

Whatever Morgana was to him, she was special. With the way he felt attacked when I was speaking with her, I was sure that Xavier might have feelings for this girl. I smiled a devilish smile, loving where this was leading.

To punish Xavier, Morgana would be on my bed tonight.

"Thank you, Dom. You have to leave now or I'll kiss my date." I smirked at him but he looked worried and stopped me.

"I'm sorry but I still haven't received my monthly bonus from you." Dom said. It was obvious that he needed the money to sort out himself but I didn't care. I was paying him to get the job done not to pity him.

"I'll wire you the money, don't worry." I said about to leave but stopped, my back still turned against him. "Remember not to betray me, Dom. You know what I'm capable of doing."

I forced a smile and went through the door. I picked up Morgana from the Palace.

"I didn't know you were the King's brother and you let me speak to you so casually." Morgana said with a smile inside the car. The driver was driving at normal speed and the air was refreshing this evening.

"Oh.. you found out." I exclaimed, truly shocked that she had found out in such a short period of time.

"Yes." A pause. "You didn't want me to?" She asked me. I had to act nice and humble, that was how girls like her were bought.

"Well, I don't like to be addressed that way. I just want to be myself and not just a title." I said and glanced at her to see a satisfied look on her face.

"That's nice." She responded.

"I didn't ask you where you met Xavier since he's your friend." I didn't know if the question was too direct but I wanted to know. "I mean, Xavier doesn't have so many friends so I wondered where you guys met and how long you guys have known each other."

She hesitated for a while as I noticed the sadness in her eyes. She was about to talk when the driver announced that we were at the venue.

I almost swore at the bastard but I coordinated myself and opened the door for Morgana. There was no doubt that she was beautiful but I felt like there was more to her than her beauty.

"Thank you." She responded when I had pulled out the chair for her in the restaurant. "This is a quite expensive hotel, are you sure about this?" She leaned in whispering to me but I smiled and told her not to worry. While we waited for the waiter to bring the food, I watched Morgana. I was hoping she would continue from where we had stopped at the car.

She was looking around when I leaned in, looking to start up a conversation. "Do you like this place?"

"Yes, of course." She was gaining but when I was about to speak again, the waiter arrived with the food. It was a delicious course meal which I had first eaten with Xavier.

Morgana was excited with the food so I let her enjoy it. After all, the goal was to get her on my side. From the sounds she made while eating, I suspected that she might not have had this great meal before.

I smiled and thought of how good she'll be in bed too. I wasn't looking when the knife I was using for my meat mistakenly cut me.

"Ahh." I groaned in pain, Soon Morgana was beside me.

"What happened?" She asked me.

"The knife." I pointed. It was a small cut but the blood was already gushing out. I tried to clean it with a tissue but she stopped me.

"It'll just make it worse." She said, then looked around us. "Close your eyes."

I didn't know why she was asking me to do that but I closed my eyes and when I opened it, the blood was gone. Intact, my finger didn't look like it had a cut on it just a second ago.

"How did you stop the bleeding?" I asked Morgana who had gone back to her seat.

"It's nothing. Just a trick my mother taught me." She responded but I could see that when she started eating again, she felt very uncomfortable
