[34.2] Bit Ol Jack - 2

He had to be honest, he had never seen such a beast before in all his years of adventure!!

His legs traversed him down the slope, his feet crunching against the bones below, the air rushing against his face, his clothing blowing within the haste of wind. The troll held under his left armpit quaked with each step he made.

There was a low growl or a roar, he couldn't accurately perceive which it was. But did it really matter to him??

Hell's no.

A small quake of the mountain of bones.

"Sh*t!"

His body naturally moved in a response, turning around, his right hand grasping his weapon. He had already swung it when his eyes crossed with the desolate crimson eyes of the beast.

There was a low spark as a shrill resounded.

The jaws of the beast clamped tightly upon his blade. Its strength firmly empowering upon his body.

The force of the momentum caused his legs to quake for a moment, the whole rubbled area seemed as if it would fall at any moment.

Both opponents found themselves gritting their teeth at the other's might.

Jack thought himself doing fairly 'well'.

Then the tail of the beast came swinging...and it naturally smacked against his face!!

Now, the author didn't know physics well but...

Jack's figure was instantly blown leftward.

Crash

He crashed into a mountain of bones.

His figure embedded, not flying deeply within, and rolled down right after.

"Ugh." He forced himself from the pile, his body slightly sorer.

Standing up, shaking his head and stretching, he was in surprise to finally find himself now upon a blackened ground similar to that of marble.

"Blimey! This scurvy dog is more of a seadog than I thought." His left arm whipped against his face, easily picking up the blood that had now been made from the scar running across his cheek.

A light flashed.

A jaded green orb the size of an orange appeared on his palm.

He imputed a bit of his mana within, connecting the orb and his soul.

"Hmm..."

'The one skill I have is practically useless in a frontal one on one confrontation...'

He glanced at his Sacred Text.

'Strange, my swordsmanship has broken through a minor rank.'

First was losing sight of his little lass. Then was hopping into a whatever the heck this place was and finding a literal embodiment of a troll as a partner. Finally, he was blown and found himself faced with this beast of a creature.

Jack Sawhand was currently frustrated above all.

And when Jack Sawhand is frustrated, Jack Sawhand gets to...'serious business'.

"Hangil, sit still, I have no time to waste. I must find me little lass fast."

He looked at the troll by his side that struggled to balance himself back up after the crash.

"I must kill this bilge-sucking beast before me!" He looked forward to see the beast jump down onto the ground, from the pile it had stood.

There was a burning spirit within its four eyes...

Jack smiled, "Let's play my favorite sport..."

He looked down, his feet anchoring a skull.

"Soccer."

His leg kicked out.

The skull traversed the air and accurately hit against the face of the beast.

It shook momentarily to disperse the clash...

...it looked ahead.

Jack slashed down, a grin plastered upon his face.

Bang

He was met with its hardtail blocking his advancement.

His weapon scraped lightly.

"A dribbling dance it is then~"

Jack dodged around.

His blade flying, sweat dripping, body moving.

Jack moved like he had a dancing spirit and the beast moved as if a partner following the rhythm of the more experienced other.

"Good lass~"

The blade came down, the beast bared its teeth.

Jack stepped back, raised his left leg, delivering a kick leftward to its head instead.

He saw the tail swinging from the high heavens and natural sidestepped to evade it.

His leg kicked up from his position.

"And he shoots~"

Another skull launched.

The beast lunged forwards crushing it between its jaws and spitting it out within a moment, Jack had long realized he didn't want the same fate as the skull.

Yet, the beast didn't seem to care about his feelings of not wanting to die, it charged forths to tear its prey apart.

"My my, what an amper lad~"

Jack slid under its massive body.

His blade raised up and propelling with that movement.

Blood naturally followed as he tore through the weaker underbelly of the beast and its painful wallow resounded.

Finding his way from under, Jack stood.

He lightly shook off his blade covered in blood before turning around.

"..."

He was truly speechless.

"Is that bloody beast healing from me attack..."

The attack that he had just finished making was in the midst of mending and closing together as if nothing had happened...

"..."

He wanted to curse the high heavens.

"...is this one of the types where the demonic core must be destroyed?"

Yeaaaaah, no, he had no time for thinking.

Boom

The whole area exploded out as bones flew ever which way, crackling against the floor.

Flames engulfed the beast...it turned around to look towards him.

It took a powering step towards him.

"...getting a power-up just like that? This world and this beast are both colliding to run a rig on me aren't they...?"

He finally sighed.

Jack simply grasped his blade tighter, took a stance, and charged forwards.

The mouth of the beast opened.

Boom

A pillar of flames naturally shot forwards as one would expect.

"Wut." His eyes opened wider.

He only had time to place his blade between himself and the attack.

That...did absolutely nothing of use.

He found himself swallowed within.

Ye, as flames should be, it was hot...very hot.

Jack died.

Well, at least he felt like he was dying.

His clothing naturally burned as his skin was smeared in welcoming of being burned to a fine crisp just the same.

"Master!!"

Then suddenly...it stopped.

Hazily, his figure charred, Jack opened his eyes...

That little troll Hangil...at least he thought it was the troll...had currently changed.

"When did that little lad have a makeover..."

It's pale green skin was now more lime-like, darker in nature. While, yep, it had definitely grown significantly taller...Jack's eyes were not deceiving him.

Its figure quaking, it held the mouth of the beast forcefully to a close.

Jack lightly shook his head, grasping his blade tighter.

"Let's end this~"

Running forwards.

"Before the little lad loses."

His eyes gleamed in focus.

Ducking below Hangil.

In one fluid motion...

His blade ruthlessly pierced upwards.

A quake in its body and a horrendous roar escaping its lips.

As the crimson blood of the beast fell upon his face.

Jack held a grinning smile.

"Bye bye little one~but you're not the lassy I'm looking for~"

He twisted his blade.

It naturally began its descent into death.

Breathing quite heavily, Jack stood up.

"You saved me little lassie..." He began to turn towards the troll but was stopped momentarily in shock by what he saw once the beast fell down in full.

Countless crimson eyes stared back at him through the darkness ahead.

...would one beast be able to create this mountain upon mountains of bones on its own...

Seeing those gleaming crimson eyes...Jack realized a point...

The beast hadn't roared because it was fearing for death.

No, it instead called for its companions.

"Sink me!" Jack was currently in horror when he saw this.

"Little lassie, you didn't do shiet!"

He quickly looked towards Hangil.

"Scallywag, it would seem time for our jolly crew to get to hopping or we hearties might become dead men and tell no more tales."

"Savvy?" He asked.

The troll did not understand a single thing he said, or did it? No, it didn't. Instead tilting its head a bit.

Jack sighed, "This is what I get for admiring the old legends of pirates when I was younger..."

He shrugged.

"Let's go lad!" He made a 180-degree turn, and pointed his blade forwards with sweat dripping, his upper body already in a show of fitness while his lower body wore his now charred crisped pants.

Ah, now the troll understood, a bit.

"Heave ho!"

And naturally, he began his run from the band of beasts seeking to turn him into something worse than shark bait.

The roars naturally resounded behind him.

They need to make it so I can reorder chapters already...
