Flight 4- Knowing your Magic

As soon as dawn arrived the dragons, Phil and the girls were already up and about.

"So now we'll be teaching you how to create your own spells. Each spells has a chant used to be casted each time you use a spell you need to say the chant" Phil explained.

"O flame, O fire manifest as a ball to strike thine enemies" [Fireball]

"That is the chant right. to customize the spell you must first know what you are at heart or what do you like at heart" Phil said

"O flame, O fire let me use thy fiery grace manifest as a phoenix to burn thine enemies" [Fire Phoenix]

"That is my chant as you can see I am a crow which is a bird, which I am familiar of so that makes most of my spells characteristics and behaviors of birds. Now any questions"

"Sir Phil about yesterday you didn't use a chant yesterday how did you do that?" Alessia asked

"When you cast magic it takes a certain energy from you also known as magicule or mana which is in the air you can feel it faintly when it happens each spell gives a different feel to your body. If you are proficient enough with magic you could try and force to feel it without casting if you succeed you could be able to do it" Phil answered

"Yuki when did you learn chantless casting?" Clara asked Yuki who was watching them.

"I was up against a goblin swarm accompanied by a goblin king I was hit with a paralyzing spell I got desperate and wished I could just the whole cave. My unconscious command activated a spell named "Water dragon series: Flood flap" and so my wings appeared and with a single flap it pushed me out of the cave while filling it with water" Yuki told them the story

"Oh that's rather... scary" Alessia wasn't sure how to feel while Clara was praising Yuki

"How about you sir Phil?" Alessia asked

"I was just really sleepy but the next town was hours away so I kept thinking about how nice it would be to sleep in an inn that I accidentally teleported at the town's gate" Phil laughed.

"That's enough Phil chantless casting is still far from them so just teach them how to customize spells" Yuki said

"Alright calm down."

The girls spent morning till lunch trying to make a spell and use it while Yuki watched Phil give some advice here and there.

"Flames of fire be thine blade strike my enemies" [Flaming cross-strike] Clara casted and succeeded but the spell was bigger than anticipated and was aimed for the trees.

[Dispel] Yuki casted quickly and the fire strikes disappeared.

"And that is why you need us to prevent anything from going haywire" Phil laughed while Yuki just shook his head.

"It was good though now that you made it master it and make another" Yuki complimented.

Unlike Phil who gives compliments at every little nice thing, Yuki would much rather stay quiet with occasional taunts pointed at them is what they learned the past few hours which is why the compliment was taken highly like some blessing which boosted their morale in order to get praised by the now branded cold-hearted man named Yuki.

After a while Alessia and Clara had a headache.

"You did good, how about a few snacks to refresh your minds and mana" Phil said as Yuki came in with fresh fruits and some enérgeia berries which help regain mana.

"Eat the enérgeia fruits as well you need that the most" Phil advised seeing the girls avoid the unfamiliar fruit.

The two girls reluctantly took a fruit and felt their energy come back.

"Enérgeia fruits help recover energy and mana you should eat a lot you'll need it. Eating them regularly also helps expand ones mana capacity" Yuki lectured eating one himself.

"Really, is that true sir Phil?" Clara asked

"Yes it does so make sure to eat them regularly" Phil answered smiling

"Oh so this is one of the fruits from the book right? I think I read about it being able to help expand even an old person's mana capacity" Alessia told the three

"Although it takes a long time for a change to happen and a lot of eating the fruit regularly it does by a little bit." Yuki clarified

They used the rest of the afternoon coming up with compatible spells and both Alessia and Clara learn three spells each in the end.

Night time

"Sir Phil why does Yuki not sleep here?" Alessia asked

"No more like where is Yuki going at night?" Clara asked a different question

"Every night, at the start of the path if you say the words 'O fireflies of the night, Light the path to where the Human Dragon was born' then follow the path that appears once you reach the end of that path say this words next 'O observers of the world take me to where the dragon born here is located for I shall meet' follow those instructions and you'll see where he is" Phil answered them.
