Dedicated Shipper

Kur felt rather pleased with himself as he watched Elswyth lead Heron into the throng of dancers. Seeing Elswyth's happy little smirk and Heron's bewilderment made his own heart feel so soothed.

He was pretty sure that even if Heron did not realize it yet the boy was drawn to Elswyth. It wasn't love not yet, Kur didn't kid himself about that. Quite frankly he realized the sixteen year old prince was not quite ready for love.

But that day would come, and Kur was looking forward to the day that he realized that he had the perfect woman for him at his side. He sort of hoped it would happen withing this year because he wanted to witness it happen. Though that might not happen. The boy was still but sixteen.

But anyway, he felt pleased with himself for getting Elswyth and Heron dancing together. Because even though Heron might not yet be ready for romance, Elswyth was. And by giving her these moments, Kur hoped that Elswyth would not give up on her budding feelings.

Kur had some confidence she would not. Elswyth was actually having fun teasing the rather innocent teenager from what he had witnessed from observing them. But still he would help her foster opportunities so that her attention would not waver.

Then, once Heron grew up a bit, he was sure they would end up together.

Kur smiled to himself as he thought about it. He watched them for a while and found himself wanting to gush about it. He wished that Tira was here. She was the only person who he could really talk about his passion for watching other people's love.

His Tira would listen to him gush even when it might weird other people out. His best friend was amazing and so understanding of him. It was no wonder he adored her.

Someday he would get up the nerve to tell her. It would be a while, Kur knew it would take him some time to get up the nerve to confess to his Tira, but he would someday.

He had no idea if she would accept him or not though. While he was rather good at reading the feelings, especially romantic feelings, of others Tira was the hardest person to read. Her whole family was a bit hard to read though….and she was the most difficult.

But whether or not she would accept him he would confess someday. Not anytime soon though…

Ah. He was doing it again. He had been trying to focus on watching his friends budding romance in enjoyment of it but had started thinking about Tira. It never failed for his mind to drift to her when he was thinking about love and romance.

Well, she was his adored girl so it was of course only natural. And honestly, even as invested as he got in other people's relationship's he was more concerned with whether or not she liked him back or not.

It might have been selfish of him, but he did care more about his own relationship with Tira than anyone else's relationship. He liked watching them of course, but at the end of the day he was more invested in his own relationship.

As he watched Heron and Elswyth dance together Kur found himself realizing the problem with sending them off. As much as he enjoyed setting them up, he found himself increasingly aware of the crowd and that he was alone in it.

…He really wished Tira was here. As he felt a bout of social anxiety well up, he wished his Tira was here. He would feel better with her nearby.

But it wasn't likely. Even though he had made sure that she had been invited to come, this was not her sort of scene. If she had come they would have just awkwardly stood together for a while before they decided to leave the room and just spend time together.

Kur closed his eyes focusing on breathing. This anxiety was irrational. He knew it. But people just… they made him nervous.

"Kur?" The soft voice made him open his eyes. Unless he was hallucinating because of stress that voice meant he could relax.

He glanced at Tira and smiled, "I'm a bit surprised to see you here."

"Well, I came here to help Lowks keep Vix out of trouble." Her voice was so soothing. Ah, yeah this was the young human girl's sort of thing. "Of course we told her that if she wanted to dance she could only do so with my brother."

"He probably appreciates that." Now that was one interesting couple.

"And tortures him at the same time." Tira tutted. Her eyes had a hint of worry in them over her brother.

This was one of the reasons why Kur had never told Tira of his affections before. He knew that even if she did like him she would feel bad if she got in a relationship before her older brother got his rather strange one fixed up.

It would be one thing if it was her brother's fault. But it was hard to blame a rather straightforward man like Lowks for not even thinking of the possibility that a girl was trying to play the jealousy game. It would never even occur to him.

Sometimes he wondered if it would be good to intervene but then again… well, Vixen needed to stop with the whole flirting thing before Lowks could get back his confidence to pursue her.

Lowks was not as hard to read as his sister was. The very fact that he would go to so much trouble just trying to keep this girl out of trouble was indicative that he really did have a great fondness for her.

Kur shook his head. He wouldn't worry about it. Though he did want to see how that played out. But he more wanted to enjoy spending time with his Tira. No time was wasted if it was with her sweet person.

He found himself just gazing at her as they idly chatted. Just the sound of her soft voice made him feel more grounded and less like he was about to faint.

Yeah. This woman was definitely his anchor.

I feel really bad that I have not uploaded in over two weeks. We had a visitor come and stay with us that I had not been expecting quite yet when last I uploaded. We've had visitors almost constantly since Thanksgiving and that makes it difficult to write between trying to be more social and also having my spot I use to write invaded. I can not write when other people are in the same room, its too distracting.

The week of Christmas we will probably have guests again, though I'm not sure how long they will be here. So, uploads may be interrupted again.
