Growth, The final fragment on the continent

Morning came and they were all surprised, except Licht, who had watched the wolf transform overnight, to see the wolf pup. The wolf was no longer a pup, it was 2 meters tall and about 3 meters long, its fur which looked grey previously, was now purplish-black and its head had two more horns emerging. It also now had 4 four eyes with each eye having different colors. The colors were dark red, light blue, bright yellow and grey.

Sloane was quite confused at how her adorable little pup had changed into a huge beast. Fenrir saw Sloane and jumped at her, Regallas thought it was about to attack and took summoned a vine to entangle it but Licht cancelled the skill.

Fenrir landed on Sloane and started to lick her, then it began to shrink till it was the size from last night. It looked the same as how it was last night.

"Awwn I thought my adorable little Fenrir had grown up." Sloane petted the pup on her and it barked.

"Master, do you know what happened for the wolf to undergo such an evolution? It is now in peak blue rank." Regallas asked Licht.

"I once killed a wolf that was terrorizing an ancient clan. It was far bigger than Fenrir but it looked almost the same. They were called Gula wolves. Any creature they ate, they retained some of the essense." Licht replied

"So you are saying that the creatures we fed to him are the determining factors of his current abilities??" Solana said staring at Licht

"What did we feed him last night??" Luna tilted her head

"Flaming cheetahs, Frost monkeys, Steelback boar, Bladed buzz bunnies, Thundercats, Sound imps" Luna mentioned coldly

"So fire for the dark red eye, Ice for the light blue, lightning for bright yellow and Thunder or sound for the grey?? What about the steelback boar?" Regallas replied after thinking for a while.

"Most likely, its defense is on another level." Licht said petting Fenrir.

He then brought out an ether block which Fenrir immediately gulped down. This time its growth was visible. They could feel it go from peak blue into basic green rank. Licht produced a lot of ether blocks till the wolf was full and finally slept. It fell asleep on Sloane's shoulder, she giggled as she stared at the napping cutie.

"Let's go to get the final fragment." Licht said as he stood up

They nodded, following Licht till they got to a small items shop. They were confused as to why the fragment would be here. Weren't they supposed to watch Licht as he battled probably the orc emperor or a beast that was currently protecting it. This was so anticlimactic. Regallas remembered Midas told him that Licht's second fragment was protected by a behemoth beast king and Licht pulverized the creature valiantly but now they were just going to shop for the fragment. Regallas had a hopeless expression on his face.

They walked into the store and after a minute, the fragment was found. It was the biggest fragment Regallas had seen yet. It was the size of a bowling ball. Even Licht was surprised.

"I am guessing because of the size. It contained the energy output making it look like a normal fortune reading ball" Licht laughed

They took the fragment to the shop owner's cash stand. He saw the ball on their hands and was surprised. That ball has been in his store for about fifty years and no one seemed interested. He had even forgotten that it was in his inventory till he saw it. It was the oldest item in his store and he was pleased to finally be selling it.

"How much for the fortune reading ball?" Licht asked with a smile

"For you, I would sell it for four silvers" The shop owner said

Licht just dropped a gold coin and said "Keep the change."

The shop owner almost went ballistic as he just got a lot for something he deemed useless. He felt grateful to Licht.

The group went back to the inn preparing for Licht's power up. Licht sat down in his usual lotus position. He was surrounded by Regallas, Luna, Solana and Sloane, who had an expectant face and even Fenrir, who was in his transformed state.

With the huge fragment in his hands, Licht started to absorb it. For the first time ever, there was a phenomenon. There were thunderstorms above the inn. It looked like someone was ascending and the heavens sought to strike them down. Licht continued absorbing the fragment, unfazed by the things happening outside.

In the Emperor's palace, a 4 meter green orc, who looked like he had been battered, stared in the direction of the thunderstorm.

"What is going on? Such a strong presence." Shittu, the old orc berserker frowned.

He left the castle like a ghost, despite his great size. He appeared outside the inn. It felt like he was in the center of the storm. He wanted to go into the inn but he felt if he intruded that would be the end of his long life. It was like a human entering the den of a nursing bear. He decided against entering till everything ended.

Meanwhile as Licht was absorbing the fragment, he could feel Shittu outside, He released his aura scaring anyone trying to infiltrate the room. His level started increasing. It went form the basic red rank straight to the peak red rank and the fragment had barely reduced. He entered the purple rank and blasted right through all the barriers. After he entered the intermediate gold rank, he finally settled there.

The thunderstorm faded like it had never happened. Shittu felt the pressure leaving so he proceeded to enter the inn. He walked until he got to Licht's room. Right as he was about to knock, he heard a voice from within the room.

"I wonder what the majestic orc berserker is here for. You can come in." Licht said lightly.

Shittu walked in. He was surprised to see the people inside. He barely saw Priscilla and Daello after they fought together but he could feel their presence on the elf boy and the beast kin twins. He also was surprised to see a little orc girl and a giant wolf that he felt pressure from, even though it was not much of a threat. Finally, he stared at the silver haired man, who was smiling at him. He did not feel an ounce of pressure from him. If he saw this man walking on the road, he would have thought he was a normal man. Seeing such a line up confused this old orc's head but he heeded it no more. He bowed formally in front of Licht as it was clear he was in charge since he was still being surrounded by the group.

This is my formal apology for such a long hiatus. I have been swamped with serving and a massive creative block but let us hope that there would no longer be hiatuses like this
