Emotional Abuse

Before closing the book I am holding, I placed a bookmark in where I left off and placed on my bedside table. There was a certain passage in the book that makes my heart curl up in a moment. I then lay down on my bed. However, no matter how tight I closed my eyes, I cannot seem to drift into a deep sleep which is why I decided to turn my laptop on and watch a movie.

After a few minutes of scrolling, trying to decide what to watch, I finally stumbled into a movie with a title 'The Good Mother'. At first, I was thinking that maybe, it is something about a good mother which made me click it right away. I am missing my Mom so much which is why I decided to watch it. However, I felt entirely traumatized while watching the middle of the movie that made me click the space bar of my laptop to pause it. Memories came surging into my mind, paralyzing my entire body and I felt as if someone threw a bucket of water that was left outside in a snowy temperature to my entire body.
