Another dose of pain

Julie felt slapped, "BARREN? why would she be called that, it's not like she tried having a child before but she knew she wasn't barren.

"Yes Julie, how sure are you that you aren't barren, you should compensate me for your inability to care for me sexually and your inability to give me a child all through the years of our marriage, it is the least you could do for this family," Marlon said with a hoarse voice adding salt to Julies open wound.

"uhn", did you just say compensate? is that how you wanna play it now? All right then, let's play it", Julie scoffed

"How about you compensate me for your inability to provide for this family financially, you've earned nothing these past few years of our marriage.

Marlon's eyes became gloomy instantly, I have tried my best and you know getting a loan to start up an app isn't easy to get you are just trying to point out a fault in a pedantic way.

"ohh", Julie laughed, she was tired of all his excuses for failing in his occupation reasons raising from the high competition, lack of connections, or that the lender didn't sit well with him, there was always an excuse, Even when she had told him to get something else doing he would come up with an excuse of how he was born to be an app developer.

She had worked endlessly to keep the family going but it was never enough for him, "you can go ahead and do what you wish, fuck serenity or anyone you want I wouldn't mind we will leave our separate lives from now onwards until I am done proceeding the divorce, Julie said bitterly, she was fed up with marlon's stubbornness.

Marlon stopped at the door when he saw that Julie was about to leave.

she stared at him with darkness in her eyes and commanded, "Move away".

Marlon pinned his lips together finding the right words to say to keep Julie from divorcing him, "I know you still love me so stop throwing a tantrum", he knew he was right, Marlon sighed and then continued, "You are too in love with me to leave me and you know it".

Julie furrowed her brow and pushed Marlon away from the door in annoyance, making him hit his leg.

"Urgh, ahh", Marlon yelped as he felt a sharp pain in his toes.

"Y-you bitch" Marlon shouted .

Julie quickly carried her bag away despite Marlon's protest he wanted to argue more but Julie knowing him slammed the door behind her as she left.

She could still hear Marlon yelling from inside Julie was furious with herself she had thought she would forget about the whole situation and just move on but that wasn't the case even after everything that had happened between Marlon and Serenity and the way they had treated her she still had to admit that she still felt something for Marlon she was still in love with him and it was pathetic how could she, after everything he had done to make her unhappy.

She was just using her mother's condition as an excuse not to divorce him but it was the love she had for Marlon that made her stay with him despite his joblessness and attitude.

Julie had it in mind to forget about Marlon but it wasn't easy to throw all of those years they had spent together away in just a few nights, when she had met Marlon in college he was the perfect handsome man, and the man of any woman's dreams but the moment Julie caught serenity with Marlon in her matrimonial bed about six months ago she had made up her mind to divorce him but they had begged for forgiveness and she didn't expect they would still go behind her back to repeat it all over again to the extent of taking over her home and throwing her out.

"I'll be alright", Julie said to herself shaking her head and clearing her thoughts, she decided to put everything aside and choose to focus on working again, Julie knew well enough that she wouldn't be able to find solutions to any of her problem right now and it would only put her mind in chaos if she thought much about it, she decided to put her focus on working.

She had a lot to do,  as the new President is to arrive in two to three months' time and her position as the head of A&R  demanded a lot of focus.

 Mrs Brookes, the manager kept reminding her to finish up the preparation, her nagging was getting Julie really worked out it seemed as though the new president was a spoilt brat who was born with a silver spoon and begged daddy to make him president for show off and power that was how Julie interpreted it when Mrs Brookes brought up the news of the new president saying he was an essential young man.

Julie was already used to working her ass out, to her it was an escape route from any problem and it didn't sound too bad, she rather is paralyzed from working than have to think of the heartbreak she had received from betrayal and rejection.

Julie's mind slightly drifted to all that had happened and her heart felt empty instantly the void in her heart had begun to expand unlimitedly.

"How do I fill the void in my heart" Julie said as she pounded her hand against her chest in tears.

The thought of the man she had met at the hotel had filled her mind and heart he was the only one capable of making her whole again.

The thought of going down to meet him at his apartment had crossed her mind but she pushed it all away assuring herself that she could fight her battle alone.
