Chapter 64 : Memory Lane

*Trinity's POV*

I stared after Matthew as he stormed off. I didn't know what to do. I instantly regretted my words, but I wasn't sure if I should follow him or give him space.

Why was I so stupid?

I said I wasn't going to let Anne ruin my party and now, here I was, allowing it to happen…no, that's not entirely true. Anne didn't ruin it for me, I ruined it myself.

Hopefully, I hadn't ruined us…

We had been doing so well, and everything was great. At least that's what I told myself every day.

In reality, I knew that I wasn't giving Matthew the time and attention he deserved, even though he constantly gave it to me.

It was all my fault.

But knowing I was in the wrong and doing something about it were two totally different things. Especially when it came to relationships.

The night air nipped at my bare arms, so I made my way back inside.

My eyes instantly scanned the room, searching for Matthew so I could apologize. But after two full sweeps, I realize that he wasn’t there.
