Chapter 40 : The Truth Comes Out
*Matthew's POV*
She was in my arms. Finally, I had her in my arms and I told her how I felt. I wasn't sure what my feelings meant, but like I told her, I just knew that I wanted her. And now, with my arms wrapped tightly around her and the smell of her shampoo in my nose, I never wanted to let go.
Is this what love is?
Trinity went rigid in my arms and I pulled back to see what was wrong. She was looking at the front double doors of the building from our outside view. I turned to look as well, to see what she was looking for, and that's when I saw Anne walk into the building.
"What's she doing here?" Trinity asked, but instead of sounding jealous, she sounded concerned.
I remembered the last time that they saw each other, and was instantly pissed. My father already berated her tonight, I didn't need somebody else to do it as well.
Especially after we had just sorted through everything and got to a good place. I pulled Trinity tighter into me defensively.
