Chapter-23: Conquering Land of Waves! (Part-II)

(MC POV)

After a while, Haku woke up and he looked...confused?

He was looking around as if he was reborn in Naruto world or something.

After checking out his surroundings, he looked at me and asked me, "I am sorry to trouble you but who are you and who am I? I cannot remember anything at all. I'd appreciate it if you are kind enough to-"

Looks like it works?

I need to test it though.

I made up a really worried face and asked him as I cut him off, "Can you really not remember anything, Haku? Not even me?"

He looked even more confused now.

"I beg your pardon but...who are you?" He asked politely.

"Haah...this is beyond troublesome. What is the last thing you remember?" I asked.

"I remember...learning how to fight...to protect someone..." He said as he began to show signs of nervousness and worry.

"How can you even forget me, Haku? Come on, try to remember! Who am I?" I asked him.

My main purpose was to make up a total b*llsh*t story to convince him that he is my subordinate.

"..I....I cannot remember you at all." Haku said with a frown.

"I know this may sound strange right now but I adopted you and raised you since your childhood. Remember the bloodline wars in Kiri? Me picking you up but dying in one of our journeys so I transferred my soul into this boy's body? Can't you remember your own father-figure?" I asked as I sat down.

"F-Father?" Haku said with a really surprised face.

"Oi! Just because I am in a different body doesn't mean I am not your father or you are older than me! I'll have you know I am around 38 years old and my birthday will be the next month!" I said.

"It just so happens you lost your memories because that damned demon of the mist, Zabuza. He hit you too hard in the head. I didn't think that he would ambush you but it's okay. He would've chopped your head if I wasn't with you. Anyway, all you need to remember is that I am your father-figure and you are helping me right now. The boy I am possessing needs a lot of training. You will teach me everything you know and work for me. I cannot access my memories due to the technique fault." I said as I unpacked the fishing rod and started to fish.

"Now go to the forest and fetch me some edible herbs. I will cook something for us to eat. Judging by your facial expression, you might have many questions to ask. Be a good boy and help your dad now."

Haku was still had a ridiculous face but he was starting to accept the identity, as he went into the forest and fetched me some good herbs.

According to my herb knowledge, all of them were edible and none of them were poisonous. Stealing books from library and making my shadow clones study them was a good move.

I quickly grilled the fish and with help of the herbs, the taste was elevated to another level. Haku was a bit skeptical at first but after a bite, he literally gobbled all the fishes up.

"So...Any questions you have?" I asked with a smirk.

Realizing he didn't leave any fish for me, he instantly blushed and apologized to me.

"Shut it, boy. You were always a fan of my cooking. The first time we met, you did exactly this. Brings back memories. Hahahaha!" I said as I cringed inwardly.

I was not a virgin but still acting like a father makes me cringe really really hard. I still remember how dad used to take me to fishing. It used to be real boring but the time I spent with him was worth it.

It's useful in my current situation.

After fishing a bit more and grilling the fish, we started talking.

It was more of an interrogation, if I say so myself...but at the end of the day, he had no choice but to accept his new identity.

I only knew basic stuff about Haku from the anime so I made up a story in my mind and followed through that story for hundreds of time while planning all this.

Like how his real father wanted to kill him, how his bloodline was being targeted and hunted etc.

All this was planned by me years ago when I discovered the potential of the system and explored all the possibilities to make up a realistic as well as convincing story.

He couldn't find any holes in the story, leading him to trust me more and more.

I could see that his body was getting less tense and he was getting more comfortable around me.

Slowly but surely he was convinced that I am his father figure.

"Anyway. Enough chattering and questions. Let's get to business. I need you to help me and conquer Land of waves, our current location. Also, I am going to leave my shadow clones here. You will teach them whatever you remember for now. I am currently infiltrating Konoha with this body so do not contact me for now. Only I will contact you. It pain me to leave you but I cannot help it. I will always send a shadow clone to you and when they are undone, they will send me memories of whatever happened. Don't mess up okay? Also camp here for the night and hunt this man called Gato. Don't kill him but capture him. Chopping off a limb or two is okay. As long he is alive, it doesn't matter what state he is in. I'll catch you later." I said as I smiled and ruffled his hair.

After that, I created a few shadow clones and left them near him and he started teaching them stuff.

While Haku was fainted, I already chopped Zabuza's body and fed it to wild animals in the forest and scavenged whatever I could. I got Kubikiribocho but I didn't know how to wield it right now. So, I buried it in a random spot I'd remember as well.

Oh how the roles have changed, Zabuza.

You...who were his real father figure, is now painted as the enemy in Haku's eyes. I wonder what will you do if you came back to life and saw what happened.

I wonder how pained expression will you have? Perhaps even more pained than Minato?

I don't know and neither am I curious enough to revive you with Edo tensei.

I hope you rest you reincarnate in a peaceful world next time.

Heh.

That's the least I can do for you.

We will be playing Dragon city in Land of Waves except the dragons are replaced with slaves who work for MC and will always be under his thumb, generating wealth and corruption points forever.
