Training In Viridian Forest

5th January 1995

Kanto Region, Viridian Forest

Riolu was walking properly now, Her leg seemingly back to it's full health and Red was happy about it. Pichu was on Red's shoulder, a look of relaxation on her face.

The other Pokemon namely Charmeleon, who was stationed in the front, Pidgey, who was stationed at the back and, Gastly who was stationed at the right. Red could safely say he had the perfect counter to wild Pokemon and he was happy about it.

The Afternoon came quickly as Red leaned on a tree, his tongue wrapping around a can of water as he drank fluidly, without missing a heartbeat. His Pokemon on the other hand were eating Pokebiscuits, specially made as Afternoon snacks and were munching happily, taking a bit of water occasionally to sooth their hunger and thirst. The morning training had been productive as Riolu now paid more attention to her opponents before going in for a finishing strike.

Red as he drank his water, couldn't help but feel a bit conflicted, He longed to have a Bug Pokemon to participate in the Bug town gym but alas he could only aim for the rarities like Scyther which were made for combat. Pinsir was also a good one but Red hadn't seen one friendly enough for him, He didn't want a Pokemon that would only waste more of his limited supplies. 

Besides he hadn't seen any trainers in the wild although he hoped to encounter REAL trainers, emphasis on the real not like the boy with a Drowzee that he had met before that had tried to dupe him.

He wanted to meet real Pokemon trainers that were powerful, powerful enough to teach him a thing or two about their style of battle as he was very eager to learn.

Red aimed to become a Pokemon Champion and for that, He decided to learn more about Pokemon battling as well as dig a little into Politics and Business. 

Kanto didn't have a Champion right now but that didn't mean that it wouldn't have one in the future and Red was sure Kanto would have a champion by then.

After all, The Pokemon League was finally resuming on the 10th and there could or could not be challengers, Besides it was usually men of about 30 and above with powerful Pokemon that challenged the Pokemon league.

Their short break was over and they were at it again, They had encountered another challenge which was a LV. 8 Metapod which was surprisingly stationary, Red didn't want to hurt it but he came here to grow stronger, not feel sorry for a Pokemon that he did not know.

"Riolu, Use Vacuum wave!" Red ordered. 

Riolu took a step back, her arm flickering with blue aura as a small sphere of wind formed in her hand and then she pointed it at Metapod, the sphere exploding into a blasting wave of wind that sent Metapod flying away fainted of course.

Riolu glowed in a blue light faintly and then it stopped as abruptly as it started and Riolu successfully reached LV. 10.

"Pichu, Quick Attack!"

"Riolu, Quick Attack!"

Red shouted to the two Pokemon as they shot forward to face their opponents, A horde of Beedrill that they encountered by chance. Red was sure that they weren't near the Beedrill territory but it was relatively common for trainers to encounter Beedrill in the wild as they were one of the most common yet relatively temperamental Pokemon in the Viridian Forest.

As Red said, it was a horde of Beedrill. Five Beedrill to be exact, Each one of his Pokemon taking on a Beedrill, Red was giving the Pokemon with relatively lower levels commands while leaving the ones at higher levels to deal with the problems themselves, As a trainer, He was going to give his Pokemon space to grow, not to the extent where he would have a very powerful Pokemon that couldn't move on it's own will and accord...

Red had made sure to spread the Beedrill as they were each Level 10 with the highest of the five being at Level 11, Charmeleon was dealing with that one... Now his focus shifted back to the two Pokemon, Riolu and Pichu.

Riolu shot forward and collided with her Beedrill, sending the flying Pokemon back a bit but that wouldn't be enough to render the Pokemon unable to fight.

Pichu's attack seemed to have less effect as her Beedrill didn't even flinch, What did you expect? It was literally facing a Pokemon 5 levels than it, only a destructive projectile move could deal an adequate amount of damage.

The Beedrill that Pichu was facing suddenly let out a cry.

"Bee!"

With that cry, It shot out a thin needle of poison from it's right drill, Pichu was quick to avoid that needle as it was the famed technique of the Beedrill line, Poison Sting.

Poison sting was a weak Poison type move but what people didn't know is that it was exactly the opposite, It was a very powerful Poison type move depending on how much control the Pokemon had on it's Poison type energy, If it had a terrifying amount of control over it's Poison, Poison sting could become a very powerful stealth attack which meant... Instant death for humans and Slow poisoning for Pokemon.

"Pichu, Thundershock!" Red called out.

Pichu glowed in golden lightning as she released a weak bolt of lightning, knocking Beedrill to the ground. By some miracle, The attack had taken out one of the Beedrill's wings.

"Finish it off, Thundershock once again!" Red ordered.

Riolu and Beedrill clashed, Using Fury Attack and Karate chop on several intervals making the fight captivating and interesting, but even upon that, Riolu still had a lot of wounds due to her reckless fighting style. Yes, she learned a good way to finish her opponent but that did nothing to affect her combat capabilities.

Beedrill relatively had less wounds since the Fighting moves Riolu used had zero to no effect on it but it was still getting hurt.

"Riolu, Jump up into the air and use Vacuum wave!"
