Riolu did as she was told, gathering energy into her foot before springing upwards with explosive power, dodging a Poison sting attack from Beedrill in the process.
Beedrill looked up only to get temporarily blinded by the sun since it was a hot afternoon and Red had carefully calculated for this to happen.
Riolu's right palm glimmered with Aura as she shot a Vacuum wave forward, heading right for the head of the Bug Pokemon. She put all her power into that attack and watched it pierce the vulnerable Beedrill's head, green blood splattering everywhere. The other Pokemon had dealt with their adversaries quite effectively, more effectively than the two of the younger Pokemon especially...
Charmeleon who was apparently trying to smoke a bit of Beedrill stinger?
…
Riolu watched as her trainer patched her up for the second time today, A thought kept going through her head, Wouldn't she get reprimanded for wasting so much of the expensive items? Instead after he finished healing her, He patted her head and smiled.
"You're making me worried Riolu, try to change your fighting style, maybe adapt to Charmeleon's knuckle style," Red said with a slight laugh, "Alright jokes aside though, Just try to keep yourself more safe..."
Red really enjoyed giving Riolu headpats, maybe he would try it to the other Pokemon in his team at some point in time, little did he know that someone... a certain Pokemon was jealous about not getting headpats.
…
The crescent moon rose up in the sky as Red set some wood ablaze, Who needed to buy a set of matches when you had a reliable Fire Pokemon like Charmeleon whose flames would instantly start the fire.
Charmeleon was expectantly waiting for something but it never came as Red just praised him and started cooking. Red was testing out a new recipe now, A nutritional set of Pokemon food rather than the Chicken that they ate during Christmas, even Red noticed that Charmeleon got a bit fat during Christmas and even New year, consuming so much Chicken that his Mom had laughed it off.
But seriously, Red had found a new diet that he planned to try out for the month alongside some herbs that he had gotten from Isaac, They wouldn't be able to increase the strength of his Pokemon but the strength of energy output would considerably be increased by a large margin.
Energy output was something that his Pokemon needed, and although many people focused on using special items like Calcium which had instant effects, He'd rather mix the herbs with their Pokefood and let it improve their growth gradually.
…
All of the Pokemon were eating their food with glee, marveling at how much of a good chef their trainer actually was. Red had just made some food and mixed it with the herbs as well as some sauce to make it sweet but he really didn't expect it to have this much love.
Gastly went around Viridian forest, going to nourish nimself with negative aura available in Viridian forest. Gastly was going to evade the powerful Pokemon in the forest with his ability to sneak through the shadows.
Red just hoped that Gastly returned safely as there were powerful Pokemon lurking at every corner of the Viridian forest and Red didn't want any one to latch onto his Gastly.
After dinner, Red sent a tent. It was a relatively large tent that could handle all of them and Red was happy that there was so much space inside the tent for all of them.
As the tired Pokemon crawled into their respective spaces in the tent, Red grabbed a sleeping bag and fell asleep after spraying repels outside in a 5 meter radius around the tent as he was in one of the relatively weak areas of Viridian forest so a simple repel would be able to last him till daybreak.
…
As early as 6 in the morning, Red was up doing his weight lifting training. He couldn't carry his weights so he had Charmeleon who was also awake cut off a small tree that wasn't that wide for weight lifting.
"Well this is crude," Red said as he secured his hands under the tough bark of the tree, feeling the warmth of the tree and with his naked upper body, He lifted the entire tree up in a single go, feeling a bit of constriction in his muscles but it was still better than nothing.
Red brought the tree down to his waist with his arms and then heaved it back over his head again, The weight was nothing to scoff at, Even if it was a mere two meter tree, It was larger than any of his Pokemon and far more heavier.
Once again, Red didn't want to become a body builder like Bruno, Nah he was doing this because he wanted to be strong enough to at least try to defend his Pokemon when the time came.
After lifting the tree for a good 30 minutes, Red flung the piece of wood to the right and cracked his whitened knuckles, His arms were strained and there were veins popping out on his arms as well. A testament to the intense tiredness Red was feeling through his entire body.
…
The group set off once again, Gastly had come back in the morning feeling more revitalized than ever. From the bit of research made on the Gastly line by Professor Samuel Oak, Red learned that ghosts could grow stronger the more they absorbed two alternate sources of power: One of them was negative energy and the other was life force.
Samuel had given mention to Agatha's Gengar and explained that the Pokemon had assimilated more than a Thousand souls of dead Pokemon which was kind of disturbing but given how strong it was, Red decided to give absorbing souls a try and he gave Gastly a go-ahead for it.
There was an obvious downside to this power though, The Pokemon would spend days assimilating the souls that have been consumed and it depended on how powerful the Pokemon was, The more powerful the soul was, the more time it would take to fully integrate and assimilate it.
