First Loss

Olivia smiled at Red and furrowed her brows.

"You have a Scyther, am I correct?" Olivia asked, her eyes tingling with passion, "That's the same Pokemon that I have,"

"And you're telling me that why?" Red asked, his face showed his confusion.

"I like to think the battle is on equal terms and since I know your Pokemon, You should know mine," Olivia said with a shrug."Then you could have told me before I got here," Red said, "So I would have had a sufficient plan,"

Olivia realized what he meant and gave herself a face-palm.

"Fuck, That's what I should have been doing," Olivia said, "But you're already here so it's... battle time,"

A referee suddenly ran in and she wasn't like the green haired dark skinned people, No, She was more of a brown haired woman with blue eyes.

"This will be an Official gym battle for the Bug Badge between Pokemon Trainer Red Ketchum and Gym Leader Olivia Bugg, This match will be a 1 vs 1 and when one Pokemon is unable to battle, The other one standing will be the winner!" The Referee declared as she brought down her white flag.

Red and Olivia sent out their respective Pokemon, Scyther. Two Scyther appeared on the arena.

Olivia's Scyther could be seen clearly and it was larger than an Average Scyther, which meant it was even taller than Red's Scyther. It's Scythes glistened in the light as they lit up in a metallic glow.

"Start with Pursuit!" Red ordered.

Red's Scyther shot forward, leaving behind a trail of wind as he continued moving, covered in a thin black aura.

Olivia's eyes flashed.

"Scyther, Aerial Ace!" Olivia ordered.

Olivia's Scyther seemingly vanished and Red's Scyther hit the ground face-first, it's right scythe had been injured by a single slash from the Superior Scyther.

"Get up!" Red ordered and his Scyther jumped into the air, just in time as Olivia's Scyther descended and slashed at the spot where Red's Scyther had been on.

"Now Aerial Ace too!" Red ordered.

"Counter with Steel Wing!" Olivia ordered.

Red's Scyther glowed and tore through the air like a bullet, It's scythe lighting up with a more intense glow as he descended and slashed Olivia's Scyther only to get blocked by a metallic scythe.

Red's eyes widened in clear shock as Olivia's Scyther had just used Steel Wing to prevent a quick move like Aerial Ace...

Olivia chuckled a bit.

"Scyther, Now your Aerial Ace!" Olivia ordered.

"Scyther, Try to dodge!" Red ordered.

Red's Scyther leapt back and Olivia's Scyther tore through the air, alas Red's Scyther was slow and got struck again, this time in the face as a fresh spray of red blood filled the air much to Red's shock.

'Scyther dodged... but the move still hit?' Red was confused, no he was on a state beyond being confused, He was in utter shock, a word couldn't escape his lips as he saw Scyther fall limp to the ground.

He fell to his knees too, The shock and disbelief painting his face was surreal... It was his first loss!

"Come on Red, Cheer up," Yellow said while handing Red an ice-cream cone to cool down.

They were currently at the Ice-cream stand which was right outside the gym, much to Red's discomfort.

"Not every trainer wins all the time," Yellow said.

"Tell that to Leon," Red muttered under his breath.

Leon was a legend even though he was 17, He was already a Master at Pokemon! Something that even Men at the age of 30 found it impossible to achieve and he had NEVER suffered a Loss.

'That's total crap!' Red shouted inwardly, 'No way he'd be that cool!'

Red recalled a simple sentence that he heard Leon utter and it threw his mind into disarray.

'And Today we shall learn from our Victory,'

Red clenched his fist and suddenly the cone was shoved into his mouth by Yellow who looked dead serious.

"Seriously Red," Yellow said, "That's why one can challenge a gym anytime they want,"

Red looked at Yellow and felt his gaze soften instantly, Her words were spoken with utmost truth and certainty.

"Okay," Red said, his eyes falling to the ground and Yellow smiled.

"Now let's see some Yukatas!" Yellow cheered and Red chuckled.

"You really do seem to love Yukatas," Red said as he led her to the Yukata shop.

Since the Bug festival was coming up soon, Red and Yellow had decided to get their Yukatas ready for the Bug town festival.

Red inwardly hoped that he wouldn't meet Blue here, he wanted Blue to be gone before the start of the Festival but then when did fate ever play in his favor? Blue was right in front of the Yukata shop, his facial expression echoing his mood and Blue was surely pissed.

"How the hell did she manage to bit my Heracross?" Blue muttered, although since Red was right next to him now.

"She did the same to me," Red spoke, his voice showing his irritation.

Then their eyes met, there was no rivalry in their gaze, No it was more like a subtle stare between the two of them, their rivalry easing back a bit.

No more words were spoken as Red entered the Yukata shop with Yellow at his side.

"Woah!"

The Yukatas that the attendant showed round the large shop, There were many Yukatas and although Red was planning for a mid-quality one, He noticed Yellow kept pointing to the ones of low-quality.

'Such a Nice girl,' Red thought.

She didn't want him to waste any money and it felt heartwarming to have such a nice travel partner.

Yellow suddenly felt the weight of two arms press against her shoulders as she turned to Red, her eyes meeting his.

"Feel free to point to any beautiful one that you like, I'll buy it for you," Red said, his smile easily breaking each and every one of her defences.
