A Team Of Powerhouses

Kanto Region, Pallet Town

Red's eyes snapped open, he was taking in his surroundings slowly but surely, He was in a hospital room.

Red had been out for nothing less than 3 days and that was due to his deep stomach wound, In his hospital room in the Viridian city hospital, Maria Ketchum sat beside her son, dark lumps below her eyes which showed her unwillingness to fall asleep in the presence of her son.

Laura on the other hand had healed from her less minor injuries, seemingly while Red's wounds were superficial.

Nurse Joy had quipped that it was a miracle that he was still alive, though the woman had her own sense of superstitious beliefs, It wasn't all that hard to differentiate her from the average Nurse Joy. She seemed like the kind of person that was one of those Arceus worshippers.

Red felt pain around his entire body as he sat up with difficulty, attracting the sleeping beauty that lay on the small table, Her head buried in her palms in an attempt to sleep.

Maria faced Red and tears of joy streamed down her eyes as she wrapped her son in a hug of sorts.

New Year's day was just around the corner, right now it was the 30th December 1994 and Red stretched.

The fact that his superficial injuries were healed in a span of three days didn't seem to shock him in the slightest, in fact, He seemed happy.

The technology here surpassed the technology currently present on Earth and although they were backwards in date, They still had cures for cancer and all other viruses as well as infections.

Red clicked the button on his phone, apparently he was on a chat with Laura. For some reasons, He had gained her number and although he was happy about it, Something really didn't seem right.

Laura was a woman that was as hard as steel, She was definitely not the kind of lady that would ask for your number... yet she did. Not like Red objected or anything, It was just that he was surprised.

Men from all around Pallet town had either asked this woman out or even for her number, yet each and every one of them failed to achieve their goals... Even the notorious Blue Oak had tried his luck only to get damned in the process.

And now, Some no name Dude that made top 10 in the League exams suddenly gets to exchange numbers with the goddess of Hoenn? They didn't know about that.

Of course they didn't or there might have been a riot, Red trashed the idea of the Riot as he was aware that Professor Oak and that menancing Charizard were still here, In Pallet town.

[Laura: Red... are you busy?]

[Red: No, I'm not. Any plans?]

[Laura: I wanted you to go out with me for shopping, Shopping for some clothes?]

[Red: Sure, If you need help, I'll be there in some minutes. I do know your house after all]

Red didn't even realize the levity of the situation that he had put himself in, He had just flat-out told her that he was coming to her house and the not-so-dense idiot was too busy celebrating to even know that he came out a bit too rough.

They always sa y a giirl in love would do anything within her might to impress her Crush, this was the case with Laura as she was cleaning up for Red.

He had told her that he would be stopping by causing a crimson blush to cross her cheeks for a moment.

"What if he came to my house and saw it as dirty?"

"You call that clean? Clean it, Clean it properly!"

|What if he wants to use the restroom? Do you think he'll use your 0-star restroom!"

Of course, She was only human. Shouting at herself wasn't going to help and she knew that a,though she couldn't he,p but let out short comments to herself when she finished cleaning a room.

Viridian City

Red didn't wear his trench coat today, instead he was wearing a black tracksuit and his Quartz conference hat pressed firmly down into his head. The utility band on his waist containing five Pokemon; Charmander, Pidgey, Gastly, Riolu and the excited Pichu.

Red felt like he had a good enough team but what he failed to realize was how much of a powerhouse he would be with his team in the future.

Besides him was Laura Kernel, the brilliant scientist that seemingly had a crimson blush on her face as she was holding hands with Red as they walked on the street.

Laura was only in Viridian city to shop for new clothes for the next year, She was absolutely not going back to the Hoenn region with Electabuzz, she was far too weak to protect herself against the remnants of the Masked association, For now she could enjoy her time with Red, uninhibited by any sort of distraction whatsoever.
