Pokemon Saga: Journey of a Lifetime Ch42

'Today is the day of the tournament' thought Ryan as he woke up. He did his routine and put on his dress. He then started to walk towards the Pokemon Tournament Registration Center. The Pokemon Tournament Registration Center gives teleportation facilities for the trainers who have registered privately.

He went to the counter and said "I would like to use the Tournament teleportation facility"

"Can I check your ID please?" she asked.

Ryan showed his ID. As the receptionist saw the ID her eyes widened. She was going to tell something but saw Ryan keeping his index finger on his lips signaling her to be silent. She obliged and told.

"Please follow me"

Ryan followed her to a room that had the name 'Teleportation Facility' on it. As she opened the door, Ryan saw a man with Alakazam.

The receptionist showed the ID to the man and said "Celedon City Stadium"

The man then told to his Alakazam "You heard it buddy teleport to Celedon City Stadium"

Soon the familiar light engulfed Ryan and the man. He opened his eyes to see a room same as the last one. He gave the man an energy root and exited the room. He saw that he was in a area teleportation takes place.

Many other people started to come from other rooms. Soon Ryan proceeded to go into the Stadium. He saw a sign saying 'Participants Checking Room'. As he went in there he saw a women sitting on a chair with a machine beside her.

He went towards her and said private registration and showed his ID. She nodded and told him to keep the pokeballs of the pokemon he registered. He kept Incineroar, Pikachu, Crobat's pokeball on the machine.

The machine verified the pokemon. Soon after the machine stopped, he took his pokeballs and left towards the Participants room. He sat on the bench that was near him.

Soon a short old man with beard came in.

"Hello everyone my name is Charles Goodshow. Welcome to the Yearly Kanto Rookie Tournament. I will be telling you the rules for this tournament. The rules are as follows:

1. On the first, second and third round will be 1 vs 1 matches

2. On the fourth and fifth round will be 2 vs 2 matches

3. The final round will be 3 vs 3 match

4. If the pokemon faints or cannot continue the pokemon should not be attacked

5. The trainer must not be attacked in any way

6. If you break the rules or do any malpractice, it will result in disqualification and severe penalty

7. The rules above apply to every single trainer who is participating in the tournament

Since the formalities are over let the Yearly Kanto Rookie Tournament begin!!!" said Mr. Goodshow.

I looked at the pokephone this has an function in which shows the results of battle, who you will be fighting next and more. Ryan's fight will be next. His opponent is a guy named Ken.

He had the following pokemon: Beedrill Lv. 25, Beedrill Lv.28, Beedrill Lv.26.

'He is weak, I'll barely get any Exp for this.'

He heard the signal for his match and went towards the field.

"OUR NEXT BATTLE IS ONE OF THE EXITING ONES IN RED CORNER WE HAVE BEEDRILL TRAINER KEN ON THE GREEN CORNER WE HAVE RYAN MORTIMER OR MORE COMMONLY KNOWN AS 'LITTLE PROFESSOR' ". 'the commendatory was annoying especially the 'little professor' part' thought Ryan.

"The battle is between Ken and Ryan. 3. . .2. . .1. . . let the battle begin!" Referee said.

"Go Beedrill" said Ken

"Burn them to cinders Incineroar" said Ryan

"Beedrill String Shot" said Ken

Ryan's eye twitched when he heard the move's name. 'Is he thinking my incineroar is so weak that it will be bound by the thread which can be easily burned?' thought Ryan

"Incineroar blast through it using Fire Blast"

Beedrill used string shot on Incineroar but the strings got burned by the heat Incineroar was gathering. It shot a Fire Blast utterly annihilating the Beedrill. Ryan got a pang of Guilt since Beedrill would have gotten hurt too much.

True to Ryan's words the move had almost killed the pokemon.

"Winner Ryan Mortimer"

Ryan went up to Ken and said "Here take this hyper potion and heal it. Don't mistake me I just don't want a pokemon's blood on my hands"

For Ryan he just did what every human would do, if they have humanity in them that is. The Audience didn't think the same. They thought it as sportsmanship and doing someone will never do. Parting with a Hyper potion since he thought he damaged the pokemon. . . it was just noble. From then on Ryan's fame only increased.

Soon there was one name that the crowd was chanting 'Ryan! Ryan! Ryan!'.

Ryan left immediately after he gave the hyper potion to his opponent. He was unaware of the popularity he was gaining currently. He went towards the Participants Area. He knows that this tournament will be over by a day since there are only 128 participants and many of them were weak.

Soon Ryan got his next opponent. This person's name was Ben. He has some decent pokemon.

Charmeleon Lv.29 , Rattata Lv.27 , Pidgey Lv.26

'He will be sending out Charmeleon obviously because it has the best chance for him to win' thought Ryan. I'll send out Pikachu.

"OUR NEXT BATTLE IS ONE OF THE EXITING ONES IN RED CORNER WE HAVE INTERMEDIATE TRAINER BEN, ON THE GREEN CORNER WE HAVE RYAN MORTIMER!" Said the commentator.

"Go Charmeleon!" said Ben

"Smite them with your lightning, Pikachu" said Ryan.

Both Charmeleon and Pikachu came out of their pokeball, well in Pikachu's case hopped out of Ryan's shoulder.

Charmeleon saw Pikachu and could feel its power. It knew it can't win but if it goes down, It will go down fighting!.

"Charmeleon use flamethrower!" said Ben

"Dodge it and use thunderbolt followed by sucker punch!" said Ryan

"Charmeleon dodge" cried Ben

Charmeleon spewed hot flames towards Pikachu. Pikachu being Agile dodges it and used thunderbolt. Charmeleon dodged it barely due to its instincts. Unfortunately while it dodged thunderbolt, Pikachu prepared Sucker Punch.

Charmeleon who had no order given by its trainer followed its instincts and prepared a flamethrower.

Unfortunately for it his trainer gave stupid command "Charmeleon use agility and dodge it"

'Charmeleon will successfully use agility and dodge the Sucker punch' was the thought of the trainer. Unfortunately for him Since Sucker punch was a Priority move meaning Sucker Punch will attack first.

And so it did. Sucker punch landed on Charmeleon making it dazed.

"But how?" whispered Ben

"Sucker Punch is a Priority move" Ryan said as he gave a gesture to Pikachu.

He had told Pikachu to use Rock Slide if he ever uses gestures. Seeing Pikachu preparing a move the trainer cursed himself for not paying attention.

"Charmeleon use Slash on what's coming" he said hurriedly as Slash is the only move Charmeleon master to the level of Excellent.

Unfortunately for Charmeleon a large amount of rocks bombarded him. Slash couldn't do anything since it could only cut one rock.

Soon as the rocks fell on Charmeleon dust clouds were created. As the dust cleared Charmeleon could be seen fainted in the Debris.

"How can a Pikachu use Rock Slide" Ben shouted.

"Ever heard of exceptions?" said Ryan bluntly.

Ben could only pluck his hair out frustrated.

'I hope my next opponent gives me a good challenge' Ryan thought.
