"You won't leave here alive," Marcus snarled, his eyes blazing with fury.
Kj stood his ground, his heart pounding. "We can't let you continue this madness, Marcus."
Marcus: "Scizor, use Bullet Punch! Salamence, Dragon Claw!"
Scizor darted forward with blinding speed, aiming a swift Bullet Punch at Riolu. The attack struck true, sending Riolu skidding back but not out.
Salamence lunged at Metang with a powerful Dragon Claw. Metang tried to brace itself, but the force of the attack pushed it back, its steel body screeching against the floor.
Kj: "Articuno, use Ice Beam on Salamence! Metang, use Meteor Mash on Scizor! Riolu, counter with Force Palm on Scizor!"
Articuno took to the air, its wings glowing with a frosty blue light. It unleashed a devastating Ice Beam at Salamence, the beam of cold energy striking the dragon directly. Salamence roared in pain as the ice began to form on its scales, significantly slowing it down.
Metang's fist glowed with a metallic sheen as it launched a Meteor Mash at Scizor. The attack landed with a resounding clang, denting Scizor's armor and pushing it back.
Riolu, despite the damage from Bullet Punch, charged at Scizor with a glowing Force Palm. The attack struck Scizor's chest, sending a pulse of fighting energy through its body.
Marcus: "Salamence, use Flamethrower on Metang! Scizor, X-Scissor on Riolu!"
Salamence, recovering slightly from the Ice Beam, inhaled deeply and exhaled a stream of scorching flames at Metang. The fire engulfed Metang, the heat overwhelming its steel body, causing significant damage.
Scizor crossed its claws, slashing at Riolu with X-Scissor. The attack hit Riolu hard, knocking it back with severe force.
Kj: "Articuno, another Ice Beam on Salamence! Metang, use Zen Headbutt on Scizor! Riolu, use Blaze Kick on Scizor!"
Articuno circled above, gathering its icy power once more. It unleashed another Ice Beam at Salamence, the cold beam striking the dragon harder this time. Salamence struggled, ice crystals forming on its wings and body.
Metang, glowing with psychic energy, launched itself at Scizor with a Zen Headbutt. The attack connected, sending Scizor reeling.
Riolu, despite the damage, leapt into the air, its leg igniting with flames. It delivered a powerful Blaze Kick to Scizor, the fire exacerbating the damage from the earlier attacks.
Marcus: "Salamence, use Hyper Beam! Scizor, use Iron Head on Riolu!"
Salamence gathered all its remaining strength, its mouth glowing with immense energy. It unleashed a Hyper Beam at Articuno. The beam of raw power surged toward Articuno, but the legendary bird managed to dodge at the last moment, avoiding a direct hit.
Scizor, though weakened, charged at Riolu with Iron Head. The attack struck Riolu, sending the little Pokémon crashing to the ground, unable to continue.
Kj: "Articuno, finish Salamence with Ice Beam! Metang, use Bullet Punch on Scizor!"
Articuno, seeing its opportunity, unleashed one final Ice Beam at Salamence. The cold energy engulfed Salamence, freezing it solid and rendering it unable to battle.
Metang, now focused solely on Scizor, delivered a rapid Bullet Punch. The swift and powerful attack struck Scizor repeatedly, finally knocking it out.
With both Salamence and Scizor defeated, Marcus fell to his knees, his Pokémon recalled into their balls. Kj stood tall, his remaining Pokémon triumphant despite their exhaustion.
Marcus staggered back, his Pokémon defeated. "This isn't over, Reid," he spat, retreating into the smoke.
Kj watched him go, his body trembling with exhaustion. "It is for now."
With the data destroyed and the facility in ruins, the team made their escape. They emerged into the cool mountain air, the sky tinged with the first light of dawn.
As they made their way back to the base, Kj felt a mixture of relief and determination. They had dealt a significant blow to NovaTech, but the war was far from over.
Back at the Reid estate, Kj and his team gathered in the war room once more. They were battered and bruised, but their spirits were unbroken.
