26. Psyduck

Ilex Forest is a forest in the southern suburbs of Johto Region, next to Azalea Town.

The forest here is lush and leafy, blocking out the view of the sky and the sun. Even during the day, it is as dark as it is at night. In terms of atmosphere, it is a bit like the Viridian Forest when he first went there.

"This forest feels really nice!" Misty enjoyed walking through this forest.

Now that Ash has the power of an Aura Guardian, they won't get lost so easily, so Misty feels very relaxed.

Of course she didn't know that there were a wide variety of Bug Type Pokémon living in the Ilex Forest. It was Ash who deliberately took her away from the Bug Type Pokémon colony, which made her feel so happy without knowing anything.

"Through this Ilex Forest, the closest one to us is the Goldenrod Gym in Goldenrod City!" Brock said with a smile while looking at the travel brochure.

"Goldenrod City?" Misty became excited when she heard about this city. "I know that Goldenrod City is the largest city and economic and technological center in Johto Region. It can even rival Saffron City in the Kanto Region."

As a woman, Misty can't resist the excitement of going shopping in such a big city with so many things to explore. Moreover, Ash also knew that this mermaid girl was a foodie deep down.

"This is?"

Coming out of the Pokémon Center in the woods and going to their destination, Ash and his party saw a old well maintained Shrine dedicated to Celebi, the Keeper of the Forest.

Near this Ancient Shrine, Ash found an open space that was perfect for camping and training some of his Pokémon's.

"Come out, Snorlax, Heracross, Bayleef, Quilava, Slowpoke!"

Snorlax had just eaten Ash's special food from the system in the morning and fell asleep with great satisfaction.

Heracross and Bayleef obviously liked the feeling of this forest. Heracross ran to a tree and started to suck out the sap.

Bayleef quickly ran to next to Ash's side. It liked the feeling of being next to her trainer very much.

Quilava seemed lazy, turned himself into a ball and lay next to him.

Only Slowpoke, as if he had discovered something, slowly moved in one direction.

"Hey, Slowpoke, where are you going?"

Ash was very curious about what this Slowpoke was doing. In the process of getting along with it, Ash discovered that this Slowpoke was definitely very intelligent, but its slow and leisurely movements made it look dull.

So, Ash decided to follow up and have a look.

He was too lazy to take the Pokémon back, "Brock, please help me take care of Snorlax, Heracross, and Quilava while I'm gone!"

"Okay, don't worry!" Brock, who was cooking and preparing food, easily agreed.

Misty also leaned against Snorlax and waved lazily to say bye.

"Let's go!" After saying this, Ash was followed by Pikachu and Bayleef.

Unexpectedly, Slowpoke slowly came to a small stream deep in the forest.

"That is?"

In that stream, a yellow Pokémon, as if it had no hope of life, lay motionless on its back in the water, watching the clouds swimming in the sky, role playing a salty fish without dreams.

"Isn't that a Psyduck?"

That was indeed Psyduck, and it looked very different from Misty's God Duck.

Misty's Psyduck is a real piece of work, slow to react, and often doesn't understand what Misty's orders are. It will often run out of the Poké Ball inexplicably, holding its head and looking very confused, which is very cute but sometimes gets annoying.

The most powerful thing is that when it has a headache, it will erupt into a very amazing Psychic State.

Even though Misty always dislikes it on the outside, she actually loves it the most inside.

"What's wrong with this little guy?" Ash squatted down next to Slowpoke and looked at the Psyduck not far away.

Hearing his trainers murmur, Slowpoke looked at Ash, and then his eyes began to flash with blue light.

"Is this Future Sight?" Looking at Slowpoke, Ash recognized this skill at once. In the system mall, he could also exchange it for a similar skill, also called Future Sight.

However, Pokémon's Future Sight can summon a ball of psychic energy to attack some time in the future. And the ability to foresee the future that he can redeem is only able to see the future within a few seconds.

After a while, Ash learned from the image passed by Slowpoke that this Psyduck was released in this place by its Trainer.

To be precise, it should be said that it was abandoned here.

Ash has seen too many examples of Trainers abandoning their Pokémon.

His Charizard was cruelly abandoned by its original Trainer, and then subdued by him, becoming the Pokémon it is today.

The fact that Charizard is so obsessed with strength and even completed its final evolution in a short period of time may be related to his experience of being abandoned in the past.

Perhaps in its subconscious mind, it was abandoned because it was not strong enough.

It will not listen to the orders of its predecessor, Ash, because it thinks that Ash, a Rookie Trainer, cannot give it the power it desires!

Of course, Charizard no longer needs to worry about this problem. Its connection with Ash has given it a new form and stronger power.

Ash walked up to the little Psyduck and said, "Little guy, come with me!"

Hearing Ash's voice, Psyduck opened his eyes and looked at him, but still closed his eyes like a Chinese salted fish without any dreams for the future.

Ash simply checked the compatibility between him and this Psyduck, and the result was very disappointing.

0/40

Ash has never seen such a low fit, which shows that this Psyduck cannot listen to what he says at all, no matter how hard it is trained.

He and this Psyduck simply don't get along, and neither one can deal with the other.

"Okay, then I won't say anything!" Ash didn't even think about evading his words. He just threw a Poké Ball and took the Psyduck in.

This Psyduck was really desperate. The Poké Ball didn't flicker at all and just went dark.

With such a low fit, it is obvious that this Psyduck is not suitable for Ash to train at all.

but. . .

"Little guy, I will find you a suitable Trainer."

And the opportunity to fulfill the promise came quickly.

On the way out of Ilex Forest and towards Goldenrod City, Ash and his party passed by a town called Palmpona, where a big celebration was being held.

And at that celebration, a Pokémon swap meet was being held!
