The twins return to their mother ship with Zapdos on their grasps. Ebony, is confident, proud of her actions, and is longing for her mother's praise. Emily is completely the opposite, worried, scared for the reaction of her mother once she knows about the crimes of her sister.
"Mother, we came back with the prize." Ebony calls Lilith's attention who seems to be controlling her ship in the middle of the night.
"Very good. It is already midnight, therefore I want the two of you to sleep. Just leave the Rocket Ball on the table and head to your room immediately. You don't want to catch eye bugs, don't you? Luckily I forced the two of you to sleep early yesterday." Their mother instructs. Ebony follows without a doubt, doing the instructions of her mother precisely. She then goes to the bedroom in order to sleep after a long mission.
On the other hand, Emily confronts her mother with the highest confidence she could possibly have. She wishes to make this moment, private. A mother and daughter talk for a minute or two. Emily is usually timid when it comes to expressing her feelings and emotions, thus acting like a ten-year-old child at times.
"Emily, what did I tell you? It is obvious you're sleepy, and I don't want my daughter to have any eye bugs on them." Lilith says softly while stirring her ship.
"Mother, I wish to talk to you." Emily pleads walking closer to her mother.
"Go ahead. You know no matter how tough my work is, I will always have time to listen to you. Is there something bothering your mind again?"
"Yes, mother. Sister killed another innocent woman a while ago, that is the reason why it took us a long time for us to return. She wasn't like this before. Is there by any chance that you and her are keeping secrets from me? Did you tell her to do this?" Emily wonders.
Lilith remains silent for a while. She knows the truth to the question but forbids Emily to know. She instead thinks of an excuse.
"Who did she kill?"
"I don't know. She's an associate of Luna." Emily responds. Hearing her words, her mother chuckles softly. She remembers her commandment to Ebony, and that is to kill me. However, it turns out that Charlotte was the one killed instead of me.
"Listen, Emily-"
"You said you have time for me? I want to know the answer to my question!" Emily demands.
"I don't know what is wrong with your sister. I did not command her to assassinate anyone thus do not blame the fault on me. Perhaps, her mind is troubled as well, thus she tends to do absurd things. I will talk-"
"You always say that. But Ebony never changes. I don't want to be an associate of a criminal mastermind!" She interrupts her mother's lie, unbelieving her words right away.
"Don't raise your voice on me, Emily. I will talk to her. You have my word. Go to your room." Lilith commands with a slight increase of tone. Knowing that she would never win against her mother, Emily decides to stop talking, a bit frustrated towards her mother. She leaves, not even gesturing her mother good night. The moment her daughter left, the professor enters the scene with her usual tablet. She proceeds directly to Lilith.
"Lilith. Was the Pokemon captured?" Professor Violet asks.
"Yes, it has. Please do what you must." Lilith replies, watching over the skies. Gladly, the professor does her job and brings the Rocket Ball to the test tube at the corner of the room. Wires extend throughout, flowing from the chamber to the control panel of the ship.
Professor Violet tosses out the Pokemon directly into the chamber, sealing it tightly afterward. No matter how much the Pokemon tried to struggle, escaping is not an option. It hits the glass, trying earnestly to break it however it fails, and the product of its actions is only a loss of energy. Zapdos soon becomes tired to the point it gives up once in for all.
"Alright Lilith, preparations are complete." Professor Violet alerts after checking for any sources where danger might arise during the trial period. If Articuno was a success, would Zapdos be one too? Or is its powers too hard to harness?
Lilith does not say another word. She immediately presses a button from the underneath of the control panel. Like before, the whole fleet is put to a halt as a large cannon emerges from the bottom of the mother ship. Lilith flicks a lever, letting the trial period begin once in for all.
<Zap!>The Pokemon shrieks, experiencing a load of intolerable pain. Its shriek causes an irritation to the eardrums of both the leading professor and the head of the Rebirth Society. However, even in annoyance, the two persist to make the goal of their organization a reality.
The cannon heats up, as clouds swirl, shrouding the weaponry. The clouds become both thicker and darker, turning the clear skies into a nightmare. From below is the innocent town of New Bark which is soon to experience a terrible night. Thunders begin to crash down unto the town, nearly burning houses and trees.
The wind strengthens, its power's so immense that it has awakened every citizen, and has gathered every attention. Even the famous professor Elm jerks up from his bed after hearing the sounds of roaring thunder. The town has witnessed one of the most powerful thunderstorms that ever occurred. Although being the most powerful, it only lasted for about three minutes and thus the clouds disperse once more, bringing back serenity to the town.
"Hmm, I guess it stopped." Professor Elm says, not minding what just happened for he has decided to return to his sleep.
Although the people from below were frightened by that slight scenario, the people from above rejoice happily. Trial two is a success for the Rebirth Society. Everyone, the whole fleet has just witnessed it.
"Two down, one to go." Lilith murmurs while smiling viciously towards the night sky. She then emits a soft but hysterical laughter. On the other hand, Zapdos is put to rest, however, for the meantime, the test tube will be its chamber until further notice.
The citizens of the town, sleep peacefully once more. Luckily it only lasted for three minutes which is not enough to alert the Meteorology Department of the Johto Region. Team Rocket is at a big disadvantage. Our only chance of at least having the slightest of victory is through the mirage of fire, Moltres.
