Alex was busy writing the book titled Eeveelution. The contact was signed under the witness of Professor Oak, and he had sent some basic drafts along with the title to the publishing house and gotten it approved. He also decided to attack pictures of all nine Pokemon which he would take in the ranch, as there were many of them running around now.
The method to evolve Eevee and Leafeon in the absence of a Moss Rock and Ice Rock was developed by the Oak Corall. Two areas in the laboratory were modified to mimic the energy flow of the Moss Rock and the Ice Rock. A stone that could contain this mutated energy was created. The energy would be introduced into these stones, to produce Ice Stones and Moss Stones. The method of manufacturing these Moss Stones and Ice Stones was copyrighted by Oak Corall, and only they could manufacture it for commercial purposes.
Alex wrote about the Moss Rock and Ice Rock he had discovered in the Petalberg Forest and Route 217, and mentioned that there may be other such Moss Rocks and Ice Rocks in undiscovered locations.
Of course, he also mentioned the Ice Stones and Moss Stones could be used for evolution. Professor Oak had given him a share in the sales of these two products as he was the one who discovered the location of the Ice Rovk and Moss Rock and their use. Hence, advertising/infroming the two products in his book would be beneficial to him. He had told this intention to the publishers, and they had approved, as Ice Stones and Moss Stones were the only legitimate way to evolve Eevee into Leafeon or Glaceon for those who do not want to travel to Hoenn or Sinnoh for this purpose.
Alex worked had to make this book the most comprehensive work available on Eevee and its evolutions.
He scoured the internet for useful existing knowledge of Eevee and the trio of Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon. He combined it with the data he recived from his research a long with the things he rembered from his previous life and left no stone unturned for the completeness and accuracy of the book.
For example, he remembered that each Eeveelution had a single high stat. He performed experiments on this to validate the stats he remembered from his previous life, to prove that Flareon had high attack, Umbreon had high special defense, Espeon had high special attack, and all such other stats if the Eevelutions and incorporated this into the book.
Finally, he completed an initial draft and sent it to the PokePublishers after spenubg two months writing the book. The person in charge requested a few changes, and Alex obliged and resent the second draft. This was accepted, and he was informed that the publication of the book would start soon, with the sale starting in a couple of weeks, and he could except the first royalty payment sometime after that.
In the three months since the Fairy type was announced to the world. Fairy type Pokemon were becoming increasingly popular, and the 'Dragon Slaying Pokemon' as they were dubbed were the favorite of every trainer now. The Fairy Project had also identified a number of Fairy type moves and Pokemon and made this list public. But many regions did not have many strong Fairy types, if at all. Hence, Sylveon was one of most popular options, since Eevee were fairly common in every region and Slyveon were strong and capable of learning many Fairy type moves.
The evolution method was not known to the general public however, as the copyright holder Professor Burns had not given permission for its publication. Hence, the announced book Eeveelution was one of the most talked about topics by all trainers. Both Alex and PokePublishers expected the book sales to explode once released, and PokePublishers were preparing accordingly.
Alex seemed to now have more money than he knew what to do with. He decided to invest in stuff rather than letting it rot in his bank, so he made a few moves. The Moss Rock was in Petalburg forest, and thus a wild area, but the Ice Rock in route 217 existed on private property. The area belonged to Madison's grandfather, according to her.
Hence Alex decided to invest in a Ski Resort in the area, which would undoutably be popular as many would visit to see the Ice Rock, which would mainly be a tourist attraction.
While lawyers and developers he borrowed from Oak Corall were debating the investment and profit sharing of the Ski Resort, he had sent a large amount of money to Cherry Grove, asking Roger to upgrade the living quarters, availbe facilities, and take in more helpless children, and guaranteeing that he would send more in the future.
He had also arranged to make renovations for his house on Pallet Town, within the acceptable limits set by Professor Oak of course. Even then, he couldn't finish spending all the money he already had, not to mention the money he would receive for Eeveelutiond and the King's Rocks.
While he was wondering what a boy aged 12 do with so much money, Professor Oak offered him what he considered was a good deal.
"How would you like to invest in and become a shareholder of Oak Coarall?" he asked.
