Alex decided to walk out of the park and go to the Pokemon Center which was a short distance away. He could apologize to Chansey who he heard was very hurt due to the previous incident and also scan a trainer's Pokemon.
Just as he was leaving the park, a yellow-haired boy came running up to him. Alex recognised him as the idiot who was screaming about his death when his nose was broken.
"Hey! Where are you going? We still have an hour to go before we are supposed to return" he yelled.
"Calm down Joseph! I'm going to the Pokemon Center to apologise to and thank Chancey and Nurse Joy. You can keep playing, I will meet you back at Cherry Grove afterwards" said Alex.
Cherry Grove was the local orphanage of Hurik Town. It was partially sponsored by the alliance and partially stayed afloat due to the various donations it received. It was run by Roger Towns, who is a retired Pokemon Ranger and current Sheriff of Hurik Town. It had a total of 48 children, all under the age of 10. Alex and Joseph were among the oldest in the orphanage and also were roommates. Joseph slept in the lower bunk below Alex, with whom he shared the room.
"Is that so? You know we have to be back at the Grove by 6. It will be dangerous after that time, with all the Zubat roaming around. You missed the deadline twice in the last 3 days, and I was also reprimanded by Granny" said Joseph looking Alex straight in the eye.
"Look, sorry about before, but I promise I will be back today before 6 alright? We still have to study for the upcoming test. Let's do that today before lights out okay?" asked Alex, and waved as he went off before he could be answered.
Alex went out of the park and started walking towards the Pokemon Center. After a distance, he noticed a shadow in the corner. He looked at the shadow.
"Growlithe" he muttered, "Let's see if I can get some understanding of training and potential by viewing its stats" he said as he focused while looking at the Growlithe.
Growlithe

Held item - None
Ability - Flash Fire
Moves - Ember, Leer, Howl, Bite, Flame Wheel, Agility, Fire Fang, Fire Spin
Nature - Gentle
Training - 40%

"Wow, a green potential Pokemon. This is a first. This probably is one of the two Growlithe belonging to Officer Jenny. The training is displayed in percentages. So it probably is not EVs that go towards training" he thought as he stepped forward to pet the Growlithe. This Growlithe with a gentle nature allowed most kids to pet him. He remembered himself and others petting it before.
"Growwll" yawned the Pokemon softly as Alex was stroking its fur. Suddenly a much sharper and forceful voice sounded behind him.
"Ggrooowl" the voice sounded out. Alex turned around, startled. He saw a slightly larger yet similar Pokemon behind him. "Another Growlithe belonging to Officer Jenny" he thought nervously.
He focused on it to see its stats.
Growlithe

"Intimidate huh? that explains why I feel slightly jittery looking at this Pokemon. It has a lower potential than the previous Growlithe but its training is as high as 85%" thought Alex as he looked at the figure standing behind this Growlithe.
"Officer Jenny" he greeted the blue-haired woman who is famous both in the current world and his previous world as the law enforcement of various regions.
She nodded, and said "Its close to six. Remember, you need to be indoors by six. Where are you headed?"
"I was going to the Pokemon centre to thank Chansey for healing me. I just stopped to pet Growlithe" said Alex with a smile.
Officer Jenny nodded and said "Alright. Make sure you are indoors by six. There has been an increase in Zubat numbers and it could be dangerous after dark outside"
I looked at the stronger Growlithe, and in hopes of getting some information, I commented " Wow! This Growlithe looks bigger and has shinier fur than the other Growlithe. It must be because this Growlithe is older"
Officer Jenny smiled and nodded and said "Yes, you are partly correct. This Growlithe is indeed older. But that's not the only reason. This smaller Growlithe has a lot of work left to do. While this older Growlithe you see, this boy is very close to evolution"
