Ch 08: Heracross

The next day..

Mike get fresh up. Then called his Pokémon. They than he there breakfast for the day.

After breakfast Mike finally check on Pidgeot. With a night rest Pidgeot have fully digest his gain's.

(In each Rank there was a small sub stage that goes form Normal, Mid and High)

So after some time Pidgeots Rank reach High Elite. So he skipped one sub stage.

Mike then begin to add extra point to help Pidgeot reach the champion rank.

He did add point like with, Meganium. He was doing that to check on the higher level there was. So after some time adding more points.

The change was significant. Pidgeot reach the Champion rank. A Pokemon reach a Champion rank has a significant changes in there auras.

Champion Rank was a milestone that divided Pokemon from the rest of the Pokemon. This is also the reason that a Champion is so scarce.

Champion rank trainer can also be called the pinnacle of trainer for this reason, and Master Rank is a distance concept.

Finish there work, Mike with his new Pokemon start to continue there journey towards Goldenrod city.

He wants to find some water and ground type Pokemon. But the time he spent he didn't find anything.

The only water type was Magikarp and some time Goldeen, who can't even live outside of water.

He consider the Magikarp as he can let it evolve, but the problem is that it only can learn 2 move. Even if he Max out the move, the probability for it to evolve is not high.

So he doesn't want to waste time for them. If he wants a Gyarados he can always get them. As in the water if there is nothing, there is Magikarp, so finding them would be no problem.

Mike then being his journey. Then on road he also collect some berries as well some vegetables. He will make some food for his Pokemon.

When he was passing by a big tree, he saw a bite marks on it.

He thought of a Pokemon who loves to eat nectar was around here before.

He didn't thought much of it, as he was going further. He spot a dark blue beetle Pokemon, with big horn a top it's head. Have sturdy outer carapace, a Heracross. Heracross is a bug and fighting type Pokemon. Very rare to find most of the time.

This Heracross has stuck it's mouth on a big tree, eating with a face that seems to say it was enjoying it very much.

Mike thought that Heracross was a very good Pokemon to have around the farm.

It can defend the farm, as well can help with moving heavy object or tree when needed.

So, he made up his mind to take this Heracross back with him. So he wait for the Pokémon finish it's meal.

After finishing what it was doing. Heracross finally looked at Mike. It has already been aware of Mike and his Pokemon. It was great full as they don't disturb it.

So, Heracross has a good impression of Mike. It was going to see what Mike wants to say, so it stick around for a bit after finishing it's meal.

"Hello there, Heracross! Do you want to come with us. You seems to be a strong Pokemon. I would like to have in my team. So what do you think do you want to come along." Mike said after he came in front of the Pokemon.

"Heracross!!" Heracross finally nodded its head after some thinking. Then it gets into a battle stance.

This is to challenge Mike to see if he was a good enough trainer. Often stronger Pokemon need a powerful trainer or else they don't listen to their trainer.

Seeing this Mike also get ready for the challenge. He sent out the newly evolve Pidgeot. Who was very eager to finally have a chance to show of it's new skills.

Mike also agreed to Pidgeots request. He said "Alright Pidgeot, I choose you then. Use Quick attack."

Pidgeot also get ready to execute Mike command. He has a white glow before zoom in with a very fast move.

In no time he came in front of Heracross. Then he collide with it, and send it flying. The moves attack power was very good, but Heracross didn't go down that easily.

Heracross then has its hand coats with Steel type energy. Then with a flash it come in front of Pidgeot and give him a quick blow, this move was a Bullet Punch.

Pidgeot couldn't react in time, and get hit although he didn't get much hurt from it.

Heracross didn't mind after seeing this. It already start to gather up lime green energy in it's horn, it used one of Bug typed most powerful move Megahorn.

Seeing this Mike then said Pidgeot to use Steel wing to counter the move, as he can't dodge in time. After the collision both Pokemon step back a bit.

Seeing this Mike mumbling "It seems to be more powerful than I thought. Almost in the Rank of Gym trainer level."

Then he said to Pidgeot too get serious, after Mike get a good understanding of the Pokemon in front of him. He then said." Pidgeot use Aerial ace."

Pidgeot hearing the order use his sky blue energy to cover himself then use a powerful Aerial ace, as a Mid Champion Rank Pokemon even using an Advance level move was still more powerful.

After the collision Heracross finally couldn't hold on and fainted.

Mike quickly get a PokeBall, then toss it toward the faint Pokemon. After some movement with a ding the capture completed.

Mike then release Heracross. Thanks to the PokeBall it was able to get his conscious back.

Mike then feed it some Oran Berry to halp it heal most of the way. Then he check out it's status.

So, it really was as he suspected. The Pokemon Rank goes from Rookie, Junior, Advance, Gym, Elite, Champion, Master.

Then there was some stages in middle of the Rank, like Quasi Gym, Quasi Elite, Quasi Champion, Quasi Master.

A Quasi Gym Rank meant that, it was alright at the Peak of Advance Rank, and can go to the next Rank at any moment.

They just need some push to get there. After Advance Rank Pokemon have a increase in there life level. So that's When Quasi Rank come.

They are like the barrier, that every Pokemon need to go though. Through those Rank Pokemon get a extra boost to there life level, and there power.

Heracross already have many move it knows. This is also the reason for it to be so powerful.

If it was a normal Advance Rank Pokemon. Then it would have been knocked out with Pidgeots Quick attack.

There is a new addition in the Skill panel that he didn't see before. Seems like it was updated again for some reason. Maybe now or some time before, don't know the reason very much. Let's check what is this new tab do.

[Mega Ability: Ability granted by Mega evolution.]

Such simple explanation, it seems to display the Pokemons Mega evolve ability.

"So, if I unlock it and add point. Then is that mean my Pokemon can use there mega evolutions ability before even need for Mega evolution." Mike then start to look at his other Pokémon and see if they also have any form of Mega ability.

Pidgeot has his Mega evolution from anime, but Meganium does not seem to have any if I remember correctly. So, after seeing the results he was a little surprised. The status window now looks like this for his other Pokémon.
