The Grind is real, status of Pokémon

After introducing Totodile, I used the TMs protect and Light screen for Chancey, and Ivysaur was provided with the TM bullet seed.

I have provided Chacey with the training regime she had to follow, initially, I thought to go soft on her, as her role was a healing-support one. But then I thought why should I not train my every Pokemon?

What if there comes a day when Chancey has to fight?

This solidified my training regime for every Pokemon.

All of us, me, Totodile, Chancey, and Ivysaur first have to run across the mountain in the morning, it is a straight path and we have our different paces, but I want all of us to do stamina exercises.

Afterward comes the individual training. For now, Ivysaur is adamant about keeping her pace fast, this includes agility-based exercise, strengthening the power output of Vine-whip to pick oneself up and maneuvering movement via the attack, and reflex training which wasn't much except dodging attacks. She has also been fighting wild Pokemons on her own, for which she mostly dodges other Pokemon's attacks as I had told her so instead of taking the advance, the wild Pokemon that faint before she is sold by me in the Poke Market of Pewter city.

Initially, I thought to let the wild Pokemon return to the wild, but then I realized how idiotic I had been, as I remembered the money I had was going to run dry one day without income, and this covers some if not most of the spending. Most of the 16 Pokemon she had caught in the previous six days here were Bronze, selling at an average of 4,000 Pokedollars, adding up to 64,000 Pokedollars.

For Totodile, his speed was already something to reckon with for such a small creature. He needed to level up and learn moves, so I had him battle Chancey, nothing major just mock battles for the initial three days, afterward going somewhat serious against Ivysaur.

I had realized that Pokemon were not my pets, but battle monsters ad while I may care about them, they need harsh training to grow. This, I thought was because I was still watching this world like an anime, where Ash did train his Pokemon but not all was shown, making me think that what I had done was enough, nor this was a game where learning moves was it. You still need to train endurance, agility, speed, defense, etc for the battle to become a win.

Totodile had learned none move and was leveling up faster than my initial estimate.

This was good, but not enough for me to challenge Borck, so my hope to battle Pewter gym before its leader got changed was not feasible. Which was shameful as Ash would win the Gym battle he is going to have tomorrow, and I once considered that as a transmigrator I was the protagonist.

I am currently with more resources and richer than him but I was not confident in winning battles he would win.

This further made me train harder. As a 10-year-old so I had a lot of energy in my body, so I exercise every day.

Mostly intense cardio, running, cycling, and swimming- there's a small pond near where I am at. Some light push-ups and sit-ups but priority on cardio.

Chancey was showing off her cooking skills, daily serving nutritious eggs of hers or food from exotic she requested me to buy every day from the city, citing it was a necessary expense, which was true. So we spent a lot daily on all sorts of things.

Major transactions included 80 million for Toto, 18 million for Chancey, items such as potions and pokeballs, TMs, imported Vitamins that upgraded EVs (effort values), and a whole lot of food.

Also, the bicycle costs a million so I am really thinking of making my own. Heck, I should set up a bicycle shop. Now I realize why Misty, a gym leader's sister was so adamant about having her bike back from Ash in the initial few episodes.

Back to Chancey, she was practicing protect move, as her healing moves were already at the threshold they could be at her second evolution.

I intend to participate in the gym battle in about a month.

Till then I would rectify my mistakes and prepare my Pokemon for the battle.

Vine whip- Grass type, Vine Whip deals damage with no additional effect.

Tackle- Normal type, Tackle is one of the most common and basic moves a Pokémon learns. It deals damage with no additional effects.

Razor leaf- Grass type, Razor Leaf deals damage and has an increased critical hit ratio, in games, (1⁄8 instead of 1⁄24).

Poison powder- Poison-type, Poison Powder causes the target to become poisoned. Poisoned Pokémon lose 1⁄8 of their maximum HP each turn. Poison or Steel type Pokémon, those with the ability Immunity.

Sleep Powder- Sleep Powder puts the target to sleep if it hits. Sleeping Pokémon cannot move (with some exceptions such as Snore). Pokémon with the abilities Insomnia or Vital Spirit cannot be put to sleep.

Bullet seed- Priority low power attack, Bullet Seed hits 2-5 times per turn used. The probability of each interval is shown in the table, with the total power after each hit.

Copycat- Normal type, Copies opponent's last move.

Pound- Normal type, priority attack, Pound deals damage with no additional effect.

Sing- Normal type, Sing puts the target to sleep, if it hits. Sleeping Pokémon cannot move (with some exceptions such as Snore).'

Life dew- Water type AOE effect, Life Dew recovers up to 25% of the user's and its teammate's maximum HP.

Heal pulse- Psychic type, Heal Pulse restores half of the target's maximum HP. It can be used on teammates but not on itself.

Light screen- Psychic type, Light Screen reduces damage from Special attacks by 50%, for 5 turns. Its effects apply to all Pokémon on the user's side of the field. If the user is holding Light Clay when Light Screen is used, its effects last for 8 turns. The move Brick Break, when used against a Pokémon under Light Screen's effect, will remove the screen before dealing damage. The ability Infiltrator bypasses the effects of Light Screen. Light Screen is the Special counterpart to Reflect.

Protect- Normal type, high priority, Protect prevents any attacks targeted at the user from striking, for the duration of the turn. It has priority +4 so will activate before most other moves. The move functions identically to Detect.
