"The name that this inn's progenitor goes by is Theos, and whilst my family calls him 'Theos the Glorious,' others call him 'Theos the War Phoenix.'"
Andro said this, his face downcast. However, this didn't answer Tobias's question.
"So? What does that have to do with the rumors...?"
"I'm getting to that!" Andro said, mumbling something along the lines of "youngins are so impatient."
Andro's gaze shifted into the eyes of Tobias, almost signaling for him to run while he could.
"Theos, a man who existed a millennium ago, is still alive. In fact, the title of 'War Phoenix' is only twenty years old."
"For the last time old man, get to the point!"
Dumbfounded at the fact that Tobias seemed to not care about a man living so long, Andro simply cleared his throat and continued on with his speech.
"Theos is a man blessed by Prometheus, Titan of Magic. So, when he declared war against all three kingdoms of Magius, many considered him ungrateful and blasphemous. Anything affiliated with Theos, in any way, is considered cult territory."
'Interesting... so this world has life span enlargement, men blessed by the gods, and people that are confident enough to declare war on entire countries?' Tobias pondered. Yet, Tobias didn't see much of this as foreign territory. This sort of backstory was fairly common in video games.
"Alright, so this place is considered a cult territory, why hasn't it been destroyed?" This is, in fact, the only problem Tobias sees with the story.
"The kingdom in which my precious inn lay is too scared of Theos to make a move on us."
This time it was Tobias's turn to be dumbfounded, 'An entire kingdom is scared of one man so much that they won't act against a simple inn?'
"So, this inn is a cult territory,"— Andro paused, and strengthened his gaze —"what's your next move, lad?"
"Well, how much does a room cost?"
✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵✵
Long story short, due to the customer shortage, a room only costs 5 copper. Well, one could say "only," but Tobias didn't actually know how much that was yet.
"It's actually pretty maintained..."
Tobias had relocated into his room after a couple more minutes of small talk with Andro, to say he wasn't stressed would be a lie. The reason wasn't the room, but the fact that he had trouble retaining all of the information given to him by Andro.
'This bed is more comfortable than I expected... it being medieval and all. Nice window view onto the street too, this is fine.' Tobias thought, setting his uncharged phone on the desk to the side of the bed.
After sitting on his bed, Tobias didn't really know what to do. For the first time since he entered this foreign Earth, he had a break. Yet, he didn't know what to do with it, it was very late, but his talk with Andro gave him a lot to think about.
Even with all the knowledge he had to organize, Tobias still thought the most important thing to address was his cheat. When he fought the bandits, he received a cheat power that didn't help him at all.
Or did it?
'I don't think I could have done all that before I came into the world, I have asthma and haven't exercised for at least a year... where did the sudden burst of vitality and stamina come from? Adrenaline? Yeah right... if it was that simple, the thugs would have demolished me.'
Still, it was only the first day since his arrival, Tobias thought it smart to rest up and let the future him deal with these problems.
"Procrastination is what governs the United Nations in my past life... maybe it'll make something great in this one?"
Shorter, yes, but this is my first time going into double releases so gimme a b r e ak.
