Hunt. Part 1

Sheyken could not sleep. The experience of eating his first beast meat and what was on his back kept him up. For reasons he could not understand, he kept on comparing Tenebris with Ningal too.

'I need to calm my mind down.'

He set up and begun meditating. After three hours he opened his eyes and his mind was now no longer in chaos. He went back under his blankets. He was wearing his black outfit minus the jacket in incase something attacked him.

'I need to know what is happening in the village. For now, I should play it safe. I will check it out once they have gotten used to me. As for what is on my back, that is not a birthmark. That thing looks alive. I need to hide it and found out what I can about Dragons. If only I could meet Apophis. I only asked for a birthmark, not something that is as if it is alive on my back.'

He closed his eyes and fell asleep. Waking up feeling more energetic than ever before. He started his day with every stomach exercise he knew while half-naked. At this point, it looked like Zararloch did rub some of his jujus on him. After some sword practice he freshened up and then meditated. After that, he would lift rocks with his telekinesis until his head started to hurt. He rested for a bit and ate something until it was time to go to Ningal's house. With a smile on his face and a spring in his step, he got to her shop in no time.

He knocked and after hearing Ningal voice telling him to enter, he got in and closed the door behind him. She was already sitting at the table waiting for him. He set down and after saying their greetings, Ningal started explaining about each beast she knew about. This included their names, which environment you can find them, their weak spots together with how they hunt and attacked their prey.

Sheyken would ask her to repeat sometimes so he would not forget what she was teaching him. This made the session take long.

"I am sorry we do not have a book about them or something you can take notes on. What books we had was taken by the older generation over the years and since many of them would never come back, we ran out of books and paper."

"No need to apologize, you already doing me a huge fervor. I will remember all of them soon enough."

Sheyken replied.

"Since it is late, I will quiz you tomorrow about them, and after that, you can go for your first hunt."

She said walking him to the door.

"I almost forgot, do you have food?"

"Do not worry, I have plenty."

Sheyken was exhausted after trying to absorb all the information about the beasts she was teaching him about. He could only reply with one-sentence answers. He said his goodbyes and went straight for the hill. After raising his tent he changed his clothes and fell asleep.

"Come on brain. I know I have been neglecting you over the years but we have to wake up. It is time to show this world what you have got."

He said while waking up. He did his morning routine but skipped anything to do with his telekinesis. He thereafter went to Ningal's place and this time around things went easier. He did not once feel tired like yesterday. When he came back, he was still full of vigor. He decided to train his telekinesis then. After the work out he washed and then rested.

'Tomorrow I will be hunting my first beasts. She told me that most of the time the kids would hunt one beast as a team but there were exceptional ones who hunted by themselves and that since I have a Blessing I should be ok, also that I must start with the weaker ones to gauge my strength. I was going to do that anyways but she really gives good advice. The only problem is that she said some children never made it back from the hunt. Anyways, I am a student of Zararloch, an Undead that is trying to court a Lich. Who are these kids they call exceptional compared to me?'

Sheyken was trying to pump himself up. He meditated and then slept. He woke up, did not do his morning routine this time except for some sit-ups, and then got ready for his first hunt. He was wearing the full set of his black outfit.

"It is time to name this outfit since I have a feeling I will be wearing it more often. It is already a cheat for me to have this. I don't think many have clothes that can take 50 percent damage of your own strength."

He said looking at himself in the mirror.

"I shall name you Shadow."

He said with a smile.

He looked at his hand and looked at his storage device.

"Let me name you too since we are on a roll. You will be Ruby."

He praised his naming sense and took out Plot Armor. Concluding that he was the coolest looking kid on Uros, he went out of the tent, folded it, and begun his hunt.

'No one has ever managed to explain what the Trial Forest is and how it came to be. From past experiences, the village has come to conclude that when you enter it, you will never find the direction of where you want to go or find what you are looking for. You could see a tall mountain but if you want to reach it, you would never do. So, when you hunt, you hunt what appears in front of you and you should never get close to anything that has a core. You will just know when you see a beast that has one, your body will tell you. I am sure since you were hunting with your father, you know that much. Once lust thing, come back alive, ok.'

Sheyken was remembering some of what Ningal told him about the Trial Forest as he entered deeper and deeper.

'I should have just told her I forgot everything my father told me about the Trial Forest so that she could just explain everything she knows to me, but that would raise suspicion. When I can't believe my own lies she will catch on and lying to her face does not feel right after seeing how kind she is.'

He stopped his thoughts after seeing a beast that looked like a Doberman but with tripe's that of a tiger.

'A Pinsch. Ningal said if I see one of them that would mean I am already surrounded.'

Sheyken had walk for about three hours at a steady pace and was now at an area that had tall trees. He looked around and his intuition was telling him he was surrounded though he could only see one of them.

'Let's see... Five.... six, no, seven of them. Must be my lucky day to come across a large park. They can stand on vertical surfaces with no problem and have a powerful bite. I should expect most of them to come from above.'

Finishing his thoughts, he ran straight for the Pinsch in front of him knowing it was an ambush. Surprised at the speed Sheyken was closing in, the Pinsch could only jump forward with hopes of biting the prey it ambushed first. Seeing the attack coming and the Pinsch's mouth wide open, Sheyken stepped aside while slicing the Pinsch in half from its opened mouth to the back of its tail while changing Plot Armor to a short sword at the same time.

Two of the remaining 6 had jumped from the top of the trees around him wanting to take a bite at him. They had timed their jumps perfectly to where he was and where behind him. Sheyken moved his force field and surrounded them making their movements in the air seem slow. Before the first Pinsch that was going for his neck body hit the ground, he swiftly turned around, chopping off the other two's heads off with one strike. All their bodies hit the floor almost at the same time.

Hearing the leaves of the trees around him rustling while the presence of the four left getting further away, he let out a smirk while still alert. After making sure no beast was around, he returned Plot Armor to his original form, put him in Ruby then took the bag from his back and put the corpses of the Pinsch inside. The bag was not that big but Ningal had told him it had the capability to store 3 Panthus which were the lookalike of Earth's Elephants in Uros with it still weighing the same as if it was empty.

Sheyken finished storing them into the bag and left the area. He thought of anime and concluded he would call the Pinsch ninja dogs from now on.

"This was too easy. To say they needed a team of at least three to hunt a pack..... Let me not jinx myself though. It might be because of my telekinesis and Plot Armor."
