Chapter 30
They walked down the hall to the living room and joined the crowd already there. Patrick took a long look around this room that had been the centre of Justine's life for weeks. It did indeed feel like an oasis. The walls were the colour of the desert sand and trim the green of living things ran around the room was. The curtains were an abstract pattern that made Patrick think of palm trees. There was a large plaque on the wall that was covered with a curtain. He went to have a closer look at the couches. The leather felt extraordinarily soft. They all had people in them, so he'd have to wait to try them out. They looked very comfortable.
Justine looked at her dad, then nudged Kelly and pointed to them. They whispered something to each other and Kelly went toward the table of food while Justine came over to them.
