Chapter 46: Gathering the Gainful

“That was a weird experience,” Aijin said as they got out of the Boran tower building. “Bit like deja vu, but also just plain bizarre. Plus, you know, the whole betrayal thing.”

“Did we get anything good?”

“Yeah,” Aijin said. “I don't know what it actually is, but there are two things that are marked as being quest-related.”

“Let me see what it is,” Megan held out her hand, and Aijin presented her with two skill chips. One of them was labeled as Lucky, and her scanning told her that it could be reverse-engineered. The other was labeled pistol/rifle/semiautomatic. It was labeled as acceptable for mission parameters but didn't say what mission. Probably something for Aijin.

“Yeah, I think this will work. And it looks like this skill chip should give you three different skills. I think maybe you should reconsider getting a skill slot with this tech. Was there anything else?”
