Chapter 34: Setting Up a Safe Location

While renting a tube wasn't enough, it wasn't too far off from what she wanted. Megan didn't need a ton of space. All she really needed was privacy. And the next best thing to privacy was anonymity. A tube would give her both.

Tube apartments aren't generally for sale, but they do have long term rentals, and that long term rental was well within her budget, thanks to the money she and Aijin had taken from Scarlet's apartment, back before it had become Deltro's. She managed to get one that was on the ground row, eighth from the from the door and twelfth from the bathroom. A nice middle apartment that made it possible for her to have time to herself while also making sure she had a little bit of time if anyone came after her from one entrance or the other.

She rented the tube for six months. She could have afforded longer, but six months of the price went to not having have to register the apartment with a name. The tube was coded to her DNA, and that was all that mattered.
